whats it like meeting other members
I have fished with a couple of members. One,Bud,I think I actually met before I knew he was a member at a tackle shop(turns out we're both junkies).I invited him on an outing and I can say he is a great angler and a nice guy!We fished in 40 degrees and big time wind. More recently,I met with Dink.He drove almost 4 hours to come down and fish with me on Barkley.Super cool guy!I guess I don't antisipate what someone would be.Cause I all I need to know is they love to fish!

Lines,Lines,Lines,LInes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????
I think you need to take a deep breath and ask yourself: What lines do you need for the setups you have? What type lures are you going to fish on each setup? What type of cover and how deep will you be fishing? You should be able to break it down into just a few different types or brands of line.

Water temp and cranks/jerkbaits/rattletraps
KVD caught some that way in the Classic. Big fish get caught here, shallow,on a trap in water temps under 50.I feel it's better warming trend in the shallower, stained water.Flat A's,shad raps, most all flat sided cranks work well with low water temps here, especially when there running water.Tickling the bottom slowly and pauses seem to help this time of year.

Water temp and cranks/jerkbaits/rattletraps
Good topic. I have no set water temp guideline for a crankbait or rat-l-trap.A jerkbait isn't my favorite but I do catch some fish on them.I myself,am done with a jerkbait once the water temp gets over 50. Gman, you probally fish clearer water than me.

Fishing from the back of the boat underated?
When fishing shallow, being in the back can be tough. When fishing deep offshore,it really could go either way.I've been intentionally handicaped before on a ledge while fishing from the back.Yet,during some team tournaments my partner up front has held the boat down in the wind for me to fish out a hole.

Ultimate Match Fishing?
The first two seasons were filmed during April.I thought the final between Bernie Schultz and Clunn was cool(first season). They were not told until the night before that they would fish a different lake the next day for the championship. We got to witness the master a work.

how often do you find a solid pattern
It depends on what you call a "solid pattern".I understand lure, pres, depth, etc. But some would call a pattern catching only a few fish of any size with the same lure, depth, cover, etc. and they're right because the topic is based on opinion.I call a solid pattern consistantly catching quality fish(3lbs.+).Atleast putting a limit of quality fish in the boat.Another note,an angler may have more than one pattern going on the same day, even the depth could vary. Trying to think back on patterns past none of them consisted of just one lure. Not that it couldn't have, there just always seems to be more than one way to catch them.Depth, bottom composition, structure, and cover always seem to be the key factor to a pattern. Then you got weather and water current that might make or break some patterns.

Yum Dancin' Eel
I saw them at Wal-Mart the other day and smiled. When the Dance's Eel and Craw were first introduced somewhere around 82 or 83 I was 7 or 8 years old.I went to bed at night dreaming of getting one.Everytime I went in Uncle Jeff's I just stared at the display in awe, dreaming of the monster I could catch with it.I remember they were $4.99 and that was alot for a lure then. Well the day come when I findly got my Dance's Eel.Dad and I were off to a local pond that was just loaded.I used it for about 20 minutes while my dad went to catching fish,me and the eel were getting skunked.Being a sucker at the tackle store,I was still a smart enough lad to go back to my t-rigged worm. I wasn't suckered in like that until a few years later I saw this comercial about a flying lure!

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
You gotta very good point,Catt. Bassnleo,I thought about that.I call where Swindle's fly-by occured,a creek. We don't get that close to anybody around here either. We got enough water there is no need.I have fished creeks like that and other local fisherman got pretty close to us.So one question is about the local ediquette,Swindle and Howell are local ain't they?

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
I hate to see what Swindle did.Moves like that cause tournament anglers to look like d^*#h$@ds.Thousands of other fisherman have seen this and said,"Yep,just like one of em'!" Excactly what Gerald did is what causes conflicts on our waters.I hate to see him do that.I hope some of us tournament anglers will make it a point to have more respect on our waters. He should of used his head but, like a buck in the rut,he didn't. On the other hand,I hope this won't shadow out the amazing Classic that is being fished.I can't wait for the weigh in.It could be anybodies but KVD is about to prove he "must be the greatest"! CJ

pitching baits
I like a 3/16-1/4 oz.on a t-rigged Gene Larew Hoo Daddy Jr.It falls slow. And ofcourse...I like a jig 1/4 oz.-1/2oz.I usually think of pitchin' as a shallow water technique, though I probally have pitched around some deep stuff.I bet everybody don't think of it that way.
