  1. I have not tried it but I read a a article by Rick Clunn and he said he catches fish with them in the middle of winter. He said he was fishing and it was snowing and everything was so quiet, nothing he threw seemed to work and he seen his buzzbaits and figured why not. He started catching fish so I guess it does work sometimes.
  2. I don't even know I guess I will fiqure it out when I get there.
  3. I can and do know how to throw a baitcaster. Backlashes are to some degree a fact of life with them. I've watched countless pro's Vandam, Swindle, Houston and others have problems. I think, what is it that they are doing while trying to talk to me.? Then it dawns on me that they are picking out a backlash. With the above mindset we'd still be fishing with cane poles as why learn a BC when cane poles work just fine? Sometimes we have to think out of the box maybe there is a whole different way to do things. ai don't think so in this case but an open mind doesn't hurt. I was just courious on the general feasibility of this type of reel. Why ever pick out a backlash if their is a better way? I have had zebco 33's back in the day and If I recall right I had them knot up on the inside quite a few times. Point being we all backlash them there is no one here who can say they don't, I'm pretty good using one but I get some good one's here and there. It's the challenge of it all to me. What fun would fishing be if there where no challenges to overcome or deal with. I like the fact that I'm not perfect and neither is my equip and it's nice to know the pros aren't either but thats the great thing about it you always have reason to get better because you will never acheive perfect but you can always keep trying and thats the reason I keep a closed mind about stuff that take the challenge away. I'm not trying to be sarcastic I hope it dosen't come across that way
  4. Refuse to follow through maybe, cause when you draw back and get to full draw and the a limb shatters you won't have to worry about your follow through. ;D Just Ribbing you a little don't get all serious on me. On a serious note I have read quite of few posts on some archery forums about Bowtechs limbs shattering.
  5. Agree with Doucet. Diamond is made by Bowtech obviously. Do some research and you learn about Bowtech's. Or just keep just keep shooting and you learn sooner or later. But seriously It's all in what is comfortable for you, there are good and bad in all brands I don't care what brand you shoot. All brands have there + and - its all in what you like. Me I like Mattews.
  6. Why just learn to throw a baitcaster it's not that hard. These reels target what I call Wal-mart fisherman. You know the guys who might go 10 or 20 times a year and hate baitcasting equip because they don't put an effort into actually learning it. The guys that when you engage in conversation with them they ask have you seen that new bait thats been outlawed in tourneys and some states. The bait that lights up. You know the one we see in Bassin and other mags. The guy who catches a 4 pounder and wants to get it mounted. The same guy who thinks the factory line is good enough. Yep just a company trying to make a buck on a market thats definatly there. Theres alot of Wal-mart fisherman out there.
  7. Actually Retard is not a word I use. Mentally handicapped people would have enough common sense to know not to do something like that. I think if there that stupid then they deserve to be fryed.
  8. Is this a definate or is it still being discussed.
  9. Ouch that just isn't right.
  10. considering the fact that maybe 5 million out of the 11 actually drive a car I don't forsee this helping. If you want to stop the illegals then you take away the candy from the baby so to speak and stop employing them and giveing them food stamps, insurance then watch the flood of them trying to get back to Mexico. To get rid of hi gas prices then open a season on liberal tree huggers, knock them off and then open up some of our fields and stop shipping our oil produced here to japan and china or wherever else they ship it.
  11. Practice and lots of it. then practice some more. is the best I can give you
  12. Would I be wrong to say that Wal-mart had alot to do with getting the products made in china ball rolling. I know we had stuff before coming from china but it seems like Wal-mart put more fuel on the fire. Wal-mart should be called China mart. If I'm wrong please correct me and give me the answer where it got started. And I do think china made products are junk, gotten to many crap items made in china for anyone to tell me otherwise. Not to mention having to test toys for lead paint, Now thats qaulity.
  13. This horse has been beat to death buried and dug back up and beat agin.
  14. Ding Ding Ding and we have a winner. I totally agree. Big brother watching out for us agin. All you had to say was San Francisco and I could of guessed it was going to be something stupid. >
  15. yep I'm getting ready myself too. I already have about 5 or 6 good places to go. My friend got one back in Dec during fall shotgun. I would have gotten one but I left my gun at the truck because we was building a blind and I didn't want to pack it down because I already had enough stuff to take anyway. Fortunatly he brought his because it wasn't even 2 min after putting the finishing touches on the blind that spotted some coming. 2 hours buiding a blind 5 min worth of hunting and done had one. We went back the next day but they didn't come. This year I plan on using only a bow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_1mFAi2SSQ for turkey. I have the calls all ready and just need to put a few finishing touches on a few things. I'm hopeing to have a double bull blind before it starts.
  16. I have caught fish with them. I'm thinking just because there not the california high standards dosen't mean they won't catch a fish I guess I'm cheap buying a bait that catches fish. Not saying there the best but I have caught fish with them.
  17. Very well put except the mathews part ;D Hoyt is the anwser www.hoyt.com!!!! actually mathews are great bows but i think its all personal opinions when it comes to hoyt vs. mathews It is I don't care for the grips on hoyts myself, good bows just a what suits one better. I handled a katara today it was nice but that grip thing hate it
  18. Me personally I would not buy a bow off of E bay. There are just to many variables that you can't get when you buy a bow from there. Just to name a few for instance do you know your draw length and is the bow your buying have your same draw length. Can ebay help you tune it and paper tune it so that your shooting bullit holes on paper. Can ebay match your bow to the proper arrows. Has the bow been dry fired and the seller wants to get rid of it to buy another bow. I agree with the doucet on this one myself. And yes I would be curious to know what bow your looking at too. I was out shopping today for a new mathews drenalin LD. I held one today and I will have it soon. It was sweet and smooth. Check out the Mathews web site if you like http://mathewsinc.com/
  19. I like my overated shimano's just not much on the chronarchs. Good reels but didn't fell right. Buy a Quanjunk and use it a while then you will see the overated.
  20. For me it was the chronarch b and the mg never really was happy with them. Never had problems with them but just wasn't much on them. I Like shimano just not the chronarchs. I read on here how much everyone liked them but it just didn't work out for me.
  21. I would spend a little more and get a Shimano Citica. I think you will really be glad you did. It's a workhorse reel and has a reliable reputation.
  22. They probally got canned when they asked for a raise. Anymore I think if they can breath then there quilifed to work at BPS.
  23. I'm not really sure on mine I think I remember someone at a reunion say something about being Irish or English I don't remember now. I consider myself american. One thing I think is neat though is reading the responses from members whose family came in through Elis Island. Wouldn't it be neat if they could be here now and see what kind of life you made for yourselfs. If I recall my history corectly Elis Island wasn't a pleasant experiance nor was NY city for immagrants. Talking about stress we probally couldn't even begin to imagine what is was like for them. I know it sounds kinda stupid but the stories they could tell though. Just amazing or atleast it is to me.
