Was looking st this unit s d would want to use it for ice fishing and the boat; does anybody know what you would need to make that happen? Does it use the same transducer and head unit but you would need separate mounting hardware for the boat and ice hole?

In the spring, during the spawn, it’s usually no problem to target them from the shore near damns, rocks, or cover. The rest of the season is probably a different story as they tend to spend a lot of their time suspended over deep basins of main lakes.

I wrap my hooks together with rubber bands and can store a bunch without the dividers in the regular Plano boxes without tangling together. Learned it on an In-Fisherman episode and easily cut the number of boxes needed in half.

Yes. I wouldn’t got ice fishing without my flasher. Fish catching will increase dramatically when using one versus not.

Are the bass alive when you get them out of water deeper than 20’?

I’d personally save your money for a kayak or small boat.

I was a sophomore in high school and remember it very clearly as well. Remember being really confused and chaos everywhere. I took my drivers test that day and waited in line to get gas for almost 2 hours because of the 22 cars in front of us and everyone worrying about not being able to get gas. Crazy.

I’ve got 6 Presidents that have been in use between the last 2-6 years of use basically every weekend and have no issues with them; especially rust. One was even even outside in the winter I lost ice fishing and didn’t find until the spring thaw. I obviously had to disassemble that one and clean but paying Shimano prices for especially a spinning reel is a waste in my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I always put myself into how I would treat someone else in the same situation. It’s one thing if you are going out of your way to take someone fishing who has never been before versus someone that consistently goes with you. It’s like some of my neighbors that come over for a beer but don’t bring any. The first time is fine, the second time is whatever, the third time tho??? GTFO!!!!!!!

Has anybody or experience with an app on your phone that will tel you if your garage door is open or shut? I’m always super paranoid about my garage door being open and was looking with anyone with first hand experience. Not necessarily lookin to open my garage door with my phone; just wanting to know if it’s open or not.

I’d also add that SM are notorious for it and it probably didn’t matter that you had a LM hooked when the SM was attacking it. They are equal opportunity bait stealers.

I had a fish fry tonight and have had several this year; I’m obviously a proponent of keeping fish for a meal, but I’d consider throwing 9” and over gills back. Those big males are an absolute necessity to a healthy bluegill population and a very rare fish. They are also super-vulnerable during the spawn. Nice fish anyways. We ate some walleye and white bass tonight by the way.
