Autochart Question
Can someone please point me in the direction of a link or product title of what I'm looking for here? I have a Humminbird Helix 7 SI/GPS and am looking to utilize the Autochart software that includes the mapping chip and PC software to convert the map back onto my Helix. I explained this to the guy at Scheels this weekend but bought the wrong thing; it was just the Zero lines card with no PC software and retailed at $100. Thanks for any help here.

Humminbird Helix 5 or ?
I'd suggest keeping an eye for a deal and get something with GPS and Side imaging. I found a first gen Helix 7 with SI and GPS this winter for $350 and it will be making its maiden voyage this Sunday in 70 degree weather in a eastern Nebraska. Just bought the Autochart program today in preparation.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Hopefully Ondreijka gets something out of Flair's channel for his business but I wish he would hook up with JonB, Uncut Angling, PewdiePie or anyone but Flair; he is just awful.

Soft Plastics
But seriously, grab a Zoom Trickworm, Zoom Finesse worm, Yum Vibraking Tube, craw imitation of your choice and stick bait of your choice and you'll be good. Don't go crazy on colors either. Black and Green Pumpkin do 99% of my work.

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
Travis Kelce is turning into the biggest dbag in the NFL. "With chumps like Kelce and Tyreke Hill on their team, it's easy to not feel bad for the Chiefs". Best quote I heard all weekend. 172 yards passing and a pick? And Chiefs fans think that Alex Smith can lead them to the promise land? I'm sure he'll turn it around next year, haha.

Helix 7 and Autochart
Thanks again Wayne. I've been reading up on this and still have 2 questions. 1. The pro version shows bottom hardness and SI mosaics. Can you see that on your fish finder or is that only on your PC? 2. When recording the sonar, do you have to be in 2D or does that matter? Is there a recommended speed to travel while recording?

Want to start crappie fishing
A small tungsten jig tipped with a wax worm or 1" Gulp Alive Fish Fry caught me 1,292 crappie last year, both through the ice and in open water. I like to find submerged trees, or standing timber, and vertically jig them. The key in a boat in open water is to stay as vertical as possible. I also started trolling cranks for them last year but prefer jigging.

Bill Dance is back with Stren!
Happens all the time. Remember when Northstar Custom baits were the absolute best jigs money could buy?

Helix 7 and Autochart
Does anyone know if the Helix 7 is compatible with the Autochart software? If so, what's the difference between the Autochart and Autochart Pro? Thanks in advance for any help; just picked up a Helix 7 and excited to get it hooked up.

BPS speed shad
Get away with? Love hearing guys talk like this. What could you get away with on your recent tourney at LOZ? They are all just lures; some harder and some softer plastics than others. Doesn't make them better or worse than any other bait. Use what you have confidence in, regardless if you get one more bait per pack or if they are a forum sponsor.

A giant yellow perch, and a failed camera attempt
I caught a 15" and a 15 1/2" last winter ice fishing. I thought those were world class fish but couldn't even imagine an 18"er.

Learning How To Walleye Fish
Most people don't fish them just for fun because they are not fun to catch. Watching a rod troll around all day isn't exciting for most guys unless they are rewarded with something tasty on the end. I love to walleye fish but not because they are exciting to fish for or put up a great fight.

Gulp Alive 1" Fish Fry on a 3 - 5 mm tungsten ice jig head is my go to.

How big, is big enough?
A sunfish that big should go back in the lake in my opinion. I love hearing people say that they only keep crappie over 10", gills over 9", and so on. A 9" crappie is plenty easy to clean and you get a nice fillet. Obviously not as much as a 14" crappie, but a fish that big should go back in the water. I read an In-Fisherman article where they said you would go to fisherman's hell if you kept a gill over 9". My dad and I caught a 2-man limit of 9-10" crappie yesterday and they were quite tasty tonight!

There'll be days like this...
I've got 6 Veritas rods that I've had for the last 4 years. I fish every weekend in open water season with them and have yet to have an issue. Caught bass over 6 lbs; pike up to 38" and cats up to 12 lbs. I know some guys have had issues but I have not. I store them in rod socks in my boat locker if that matters at all.

Has this ever happened to anyone?
You must not have casted near one very often. we used to target them with scum frogs to get them for supper. They will literally eat anything you throw next to them. I once caught one on a scum frog that had a red-winged blackbird in its mouth.

Banded doves
Took Friday off of work to shoot some doves and catch some crappie in the afternoon. My dad shot a banded dove and I shot one the very next bird. I'm 31 and my dad is 62 and no telling how many doves we've shot or bands we've missed simply by not noticing them since they are so small. Pretty crazy and this was definitely a rare occasion.

Anyone in omaha?!
I'd head to Wanahoo; not as many bites but quality fish. A boat would be a big advantage there though.
