  1. Got to it before I could chime in. Love Uncut Angling and I have watched all of their videos and I will never fish for a lake trout or Muskie. I'm personally responsible for like 65 of the monster crappie ice fishing video views; can't get enough of that one.
  2. Beat my PB walleye from earlier this year by 3/4" in South Dakota this last weekend. Was able to hit 27" by a hair on the tape.
  3. Bass Team Tackle is where I got a really good deal.
  4. I’ve convinced my wife to do a 3-day trip in South Dakota’s glacial lakes region. We’re staying in Webster and I’m looking for any advice you guys are willing to offer I’m taking my boat but will be looking to stay on the smaller lakes as my boat isn’t that big and not looking to take my wife out into any big rollers. It sounds like lots of the smaller lakes have questionable access due to roads and ramps; any advice there or where I can go to get more info? We will be looking primarily for walleye, panfish and pike, but would also chase after some smallies if we could find them.
  5. If this is 2 Rivers, I've never caught any smaller over 2 lbs and only 3 total at that. You still need to buy a trout tag to even fish there and I've caught mine on jerk baits. I'd say to use larger, "normal", smallie baits to select for those predators and be prepared to haul a lot of water.
  6. To each their own and some are brand loyal so they will obviously sell some. Look the same to me and this is like when SK came out with the Rage Hawg that I was already fishing from Zoom.
  7. My prongs got bent and it took me like 2 days to finally get it connected again; now I just leave it hooked up at all times because I'm not chancing it again. I've got the Elite 5 and the 5 prong system is pretty crappy if you ask me. Are you sure the prong is fully inserted before you start to screw it in?
  8. A foam spider is my favorite bug to tie for gills; need the foam body and the rubber hackle. A Wooly Bugger is probably my best producer for all species though. If you can get a deal on actual hackle, I would take that too. Gills love any fly with rubber hackle though and there are lots of patterns you can tie with that.
  9. Caught this 3 lber with some kind of fish still in its gullet; this was a public lake between Lincoln and Omaha.
  10. good luck. Sounds like you're a great worker with a lot of BS to deal with.
  11. In in Omaha but a lot of good lakes around Lincoln. A good one in Wahoo too that I've had the boat at every weekend since the ice came off.
  12. Haha, thanks guys for the accolades. Wasn't looking to come out like a "good guy" on this one but more pathetic for having so much "extra" lying around. The neighbors kid loves to fish but the neighbor not so much. I know I would have been in Hog Heaven if I got a bunch of fishing stuff when I was 13 so I hope he keeps interested.
  13. 155 packs of "extra" soft plastics I'm giving to a neighbor kid.
  14. I didn't think it got better than my St. Croix Premier 6' UL so I bought another. This spring I picked up a 6'9" St. Croix Panfish Series UL and paired it with the new Pflueger President 6920 LE reel and this is by far my new favorite setup; bass or panfish.
  15. Wayne, What are the qualifications for a fish ID? If I go over a school of crappie will the fish ID show up or how would I know if the school was panfish or baitfish, or is that even possible?
  16. I'm in Omaha as well and I caught this fish in that area.
  17. Caught my limit of crappies (15 in Nebraska) yesterday "ice fishing" open water. Tied up to some timber and used a tungsten ice jig and 1" Gulp Alive fish fry and vertically jigged right under the boat. Caught several nice gills and a 26 1/4" walleye using this same technique. Try it if you haven't before. Good way to fish in the zone and not get snagged.

I don't know Mike or his situation and wasn't commenting on that; sorry to offend anyone, that wasn't my intention. i did take issue with Sam saying you can't fish on the weekends if you have a kid or a wife, unless it's for a tournament. Only then is it understandable to fish on the weekend; if it's for a tournament.

So you can still be a good husband and father as long as you fish only tournaments on the weekends? Sweet reminder here; thanks.
  20. Plan on heading to Viking next weekend to try for some crappies but haven't fished in Iowa yet this year.
  21. I think you're talking about a blue "heron".
  22. I currently have 2 Lowrance Elite 5s and a newly acquired Humminbird Helix 5. the reason I bought the Helix was because the 5 pin plug in on my Lowrance unit had the pins get bent and I was unable to line the pins up again to get the unit to power up. I finally got the unit to line up correctly but am now afraid to unplug it and see if I can do it again. does anybody leave their fish finder plugged in at all times, even during transport to avoid this issue? I'm trying to figure a way to do it while still making sure my unit is completely secure and wonder what other guys are doing.
  23. My Lowrance mounted to my trolling motor took a crap and I was looking at some of the Humminbird options to replace it. I have a Lowrance Elite 5 mounted to the transom currently. I don't know enough about electronics to know what to look for with getting interference running 2 different sonars at the same time so could someone let me know if there would be any issues with this?

You have to count the spines on the dorsal to be sure but I could call that a black. whites usually have more vertical bars.
  25. As a Broncos fan, I can say that I'm disappointed in losing Brock and thought he would be the QB of the future when Denver took him in the 2nd round a few years back even though they were solid at the position. I don't know how successful Brock will be in Houston but know that O'Brien is a great QB coach. I just hope that Brock holds onto the ball half as long as he did this year when the Texans come back to Denver next year. I also agree with Blue that the Raiders are looking like a pretty dangerous team next year and Denver's 5 year run as the AFC West Champion is in serious jeopardy.
