  1. my gf doesnt quite get why i love fishing so much but shes very supportive of me doin it n wantin to try to do it for a living. that being said, i never ever ever take her with me when i go to tackle shops cus i know shell complain shes bored, look at the prices of some items n not really flip out but have an opinion, or ask "do u really need that?" answer being yes i do, please dont start =) second i never telll her when i buy tackle or how much i paid for the said tackle. when she does see the total on some reciepts n gives me crap i tell her, i bust my butt for the money i have, my bills r paid, theres gas in the truck, therefore i will spend my money n however much of my money on whatever i want when i want simple as that. shes not really an outdoorsie type of girl so shell never understand how i grew up n why i enjoy some of the things i do just like i dont understand why she loves shopping at the mall n spending the amount of money she does on clothes n other items shes gonna us for a month n forget about but hey thats women. all this bein said, its ur money, ur passionate about the great, amazing sport of bass fishing, shes not ur wife therefore has no say in what u buy or how much u spend so tell her to chill n get ready to see u spend more =)
  2. dont worry im not some weirdo or n e thing just like makin new friends that r just as nuts about bass fishing as i am. idk if i can put a phone number on here but if n e one wants to go hit me up n e time 559 326 9434 or shoot me a pm. my names matt.
  3. ok this things demolish! ive been flippin/pitchin/punchin with em n have been havin the best winter ever! i do alter a few of them a bit n found the bass prefer em that way a liiiiittle bit more. just stocked up on the colors i needed again n have the next 3 days off so back to the slough n canals i go lol oh yea n the green pumpkin n variations of it have been the ticket in the stained/muddy water around where i fish.
  4. im stuck beatin the banks also. i have a duffle bag with plano stoaway boxes with the different baits i have as well as baits still in original packaging n usually just carry that with me.

yep all the advice given here is great. during the winter when the water is cold, a bait with a more subtle action is usually best, well around my neck of the woods n e way so yea u can use a beaver pretty much n e way u want. experimentation with rigging, retrieves, ect is somethin u shud do to find what works best. these baits produce n produce great, just gotta figure out how the bass want it.

lol i was just gonna post about this bait. yea they look awesome and r surprisingly soft. i love super chunk style "claws" i guess u can call em, really soft. bought a few bags today n have the next 3 days off so ill fish the heck outta em as flippin/pitchin/punchin is really my thing. ill let u all know how they do. ps theyre 4.99 here in cali.
  7. got em in black/saphire blue..... wowsers! love em! theyre about 4.19 here in ca as well but worth the money if they produce.
  8. hey guys, just wonderin if anyone has ever had an issue with this knot slippin out? i have it tied on my flippin n pitchin rod(50# braid to 20# fluoro leader) seems to be very strong but havent had a chance to try it out yet.
  9. nice man! im gonna start makin my own since there r colors and combinations of colors that i cant find or just wanna try. once i get all the materials needed n jigs made ill post some pics n probably just hand em out to see if people like em n if they produce.
  10. cashion 7'6" h flippin n pitchin rod w/ an ardent f700. itll run a lil more than 350 but well worth it.
  11. braid w/ a 20lb fluoro leader in almost every situation, never had an issue although i will go straight braid depending.
  12. cashion 7'6" h. if u havent used, seen, or read about cashion, u need to. the lightest, strongest, most sensitive rod i have ever ever ever used, no joke. theyre insane n their technology is second to none. also for reels, ardent f700, designed by denny brauer specifically for flippin, pitchin, punchin.
  13. i use all vicious line for all my fishing, braid, mono, fluoro. theyre mono is "copolymer" line n honestly is the limpest mono i have ever used not to mention it has d**n near zero memory. i have that in 12lb on one of my baitcasters as well as a spinning outfit n have not had one issue at all with it. i can say the exact same thing for vicious braid and pro elite fluoro. most the time im usin 50lb braid with a 5'-6' fluoro leader but like i said i have reel, spinning n baitcasters with all fluoro or all mono.
  14. yep, palomar all day everyday even with fluoro, never had an issue. i use the blood and/or albright for attaching leader to main line.
  15. VICIOUS BRAID ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
  16. ardent f700 all the way. designed by denny brauer, the king of flippin n pitchin n its designed specifically for the technique. love it and wudnt use n e thing else for flippin n pitchin.
  17. 50lb vicious braid with a 5'-6' 20lb vicious pro elite fluoro leader. i use braid w/wo a fluoro leader for pretty much everything.
  18. its all i use. vicious pro elite fluoro is the best in my opinion. super tough sensitive, n everything else u can think of. i use the 20lb for flippin n pitchin the nasty stuff, 15lb for jigs, 12lb n 10lb for spinnerbaits, senkos, topwaters, ect n the 6lb n or 6lb for drop shotting n more finesse stuff. i love it n will never use n e thing else cus like i said its awesome n not to mention the price is great. oh yea i use their braid a lot too, actually im runnin the 50lb braid with a 20lb leader for my flippin n pitchin. amazing stuff, everything from vicious is amazing.
  19. awesome! been fishin lately? if so howd ya do?
  20. all the time in any situation. im in the process of makin the switch to 100% braid because i love everything about it, dont have one complaint or issue. i tie direct cus i honestly dont care if the fish see my line or not, if theyre gonna bite, theyre gonna bite, if not, then theyre not. the only time i tie a leader is when throwin a swimbait, crankbait, or jerkbait but even then i tie direct most the time.
  21. get it, its great stuff! if ur gonna do any flippin n pitchin cover, go with sunline shooter, its designed for heavy cover applications, less stretch, super sensitive, very high abrasion resistance, n very managable. used invis x n hated it. i use vicious eclusively n love everything about all their products. ive used sniper n shooter n wud recommend it 100%
  22. awesome! thanks jim, really appreciate it.
  23. baitcasters: i use 20# vicious elite fluoro for flippin n pitchin sparse to very heavy cover. this stuff is amazing in every way possible and i havent had one issue with it yet. very strong, very abrasion resistant, low stretch, very low memory, and limp. for topwaters, frogs (sometimes), spooks, pop r's, traps, ect i use 12# vicious ultimate mono(copoly) cus i dont want a line that sinks n i want a line with some stretch. d**n near zero memory n very easy to manage, tough as nails also. im a bank fisherman so i usually only have 2 rods with me thus the reason i throw a bunch of different baits on one rig. i dont use braid too much but when i do its usually 50-65 pound vicious braid for frogs, flippin n pitchin, n whatever else i feel like throwin on it. i absolutely love everything about it. goin to be makin the switch to 100% braid very soon. spinning reels: usually 6-10 pound fluoro, mono, or braid depending on the situation or what baits i decide to throw. i like the lighter lines cus usually im using all finesse tactics on spinning rigs. all i use is vicious cus its never failed me.
  24. so im just curious if anyone ties a palomar knot with fluoro? i use the palomar about 98% of the time but when using my flippin n pitchin rig i tie a different knot. im asking cus i heard a palomar isnt a good knot to tie with fluoro, just wonderin what anyone else thinks of this.
  25. ya know whats funny is ive used everything from cut bait (shad, herring, mack, ect.) to liver, crawlers, shrimp and barely got a nibble. as soon as the dip bait is out, 10 pounder, 5 pounder, 4 pounder, 8 pounder... that was actually one of my catfishing days, no joke. all thecatfish i landed this year have been on stink/dip bait and nothin else.
