  1. I caught my PB on a Sticko, 8lb 9oz. They catch fish. Kelley
  2. I live in Edwards County. Just N of I-64 near the Indiana border. Great hunting in this area. I got a 19 point last year. The farmers here say "Kill Em all". I average 6 a year hunting bow, black powder, and shotgun. I am moving to Michigan within the next couple weeks so won't get to hunt here as much. Looking forward to all the Smallmouth fishing up there. Kelley
  3. Cornmeal. Garlic powder, salt, pepper to taste, mix together in a gallon ziploc bag, add fish to bag, shake to cover fish with mix. Heat cooking oil to 350*, place fish in oil carefully as not to splash oil and get burned. Deep fry until fillets float, remove from oil and place on paper towels to soak up excess oil. Serve with French Fries and coleslaw. Enjoy the best small bass you ever tasted. Kelley
  4. I was getting worried about you Tommy. I hadn't seen a post from you until Mother's Day. I read this thread every day to see what the Big Pond is doing even tho I can't be down there fishing. I have many, many fond memories of that place. Kelley
  5. I use a small file found in most bait stores and big box stores. Does a great job. Most any small file or stone will work. Kelley
  6. 1/32 and 1/16 marabou jigs with a bettle spin type spinner(you can find both at Wallmart). Also Minnows under a float. The jigs will work under a float also. Kelley
  7. Are you talking about the State Dock @ Jamestown. Cumberland is my favorite lake in USA but I haven't fished it in several years. My PB Smallmouth came there, 6lb 8 oz. I always caught my walleye off main lake points on dd22 crankbaits in Tenn Shad. Cumberland is full of Stripers. I never saw any hybrids there. They may have been stocked since I fished there. There are lots of largemouths and spotted bass there also. There are hundreds(maybe thousands) of points and pockets. I suggest you fish the points and fish entire pockets. Most of the pockets have log jams in the back of them. There are also big bluegill on the points. If you are coming out of Jamestown when you get out to main lake there will be a big island to your extreme right. If you look across the lake slightly to the right you should see charter boats fishing for stripers. They use live bait under a balloon float. I have caught many stripers up to 40lbs there. A white swim jig is a good bait for Stripers. Hope this helps some. Kelley
  8. Looks better than the first Bass Boat I had. A little spit and polish and if the motor, transom, are good and no rotten spars your good to go. Kelley
  9. I am moving North soon and am lookig forward to catching my first Pike. Kelley
  10. We have had a very wet Spring here in S Illinois. I am mowing 4 acres counting the 12' wide strip around my 2 acre pond. I have to mow every 3-4 days. The lot we bought in Michigan is only an acre, going to be great to be able to mow the yard in 20 minutes. I'll have the rest of the day to fish, there is a boat ramp to a good bass lake 2 miles from my house.. Kelley
  11. My PB came on the second BR RT @ Lake Fork. My pardner was fishing a bed fish and I was fishing standing timber and stumps. I make a cast toa stump with a wacky senko type bait and got a hit. I set the hook and the fish broke off about half way to the boat. I knew it was a big fish and was devastated at the loss of the fish. I sat down a couple minutes, composed my self and tied on another hook, put on another Sticko on wacky, cast to the same stump, got a bite, set the hook and landed my PB(8lb 9oz). I unhooked my Sticko and looked into the mouth of the fish and there was the Sticko I just broke off. Don't ever think that a fish won't bite the same bait again that it was lost on. You can See pictures of fish if you search posts on the second Lake Fork RT. Kelley
  12. It's a 10. You can see from my user name I fish a high end boat and good FF. I intend to upgrade to SI next year(or maybe this fall). Kelley
  13. If you don't get control of him now it will just get worst as he gets older. Kelley
  14. There is a direct conection from the butt to the brain. "Spare the rod and spoil the child". Kelley
  15. You guys are killing me. I am sitting here crying in my beer. I so wanted to make this RT more than any of the other ones I have missed. Glad y'all had fun and caught lots of nice fish. Hope all made it home safe. Kelley

  18. Black Buzzbait is my night bait. Sometimes I make 50 casts to target. Repeated casts of a buzzbait to same area aggravate the fish into biting. This is also true during the day. Kelley
  19. I won't be moved up there by the start of season but shortly thereafter. Looking forward to all the Yankee fish. Kelley
  20. Sure are up early this morning Glenn. Kelley
  21. I am looking forward to it Brian. Got lots of work for about 6 weeks to 2 months but you can count on it. I need to pick up a truckload of cheese. Kelley
  22. I totally agree with 'Stritr'. Your posts have helped me tremendously over the years. I, and most of the other members here get tired of the whining and whining about something that is not going to change. I also will sorely miss your posts if you decided to leave. If I offended you I apologise. Kelley
  23. With high water I find the fish extremely shallow. Have won several tournaments over the years on a jig in inches of water. Kelley
  24. This is for all you whiners. I am old and set in my ways, not very computer savvy, also type like the girls that work for IBM "Huntin Pecker". If a contrary old fart like me can figure out how to surf this forum anyone that want to can also. I see whining about the adds. Someone has to pay for this forum and am glad it is not me. Also Glenn deserves more than a pat on the back for all the work he has done to bring this forum to the place it is now and should be able to reap some rewards for all the money he spent to get where he has it now. I am relative sure this forum will carry on with or without the naysayers and if they leave rather than try to accept change so be it, it's their loss. I have fished for over 65 years and have forgot more about fishing than some of you know. I learn something new every time I log on here that will help me be a better fisherman than I am today. I intend to fish and be a member of BR as long as I live(unless Glenn bars me) even if I have to use a pontoon boat an get wheeled onto it in my wheelchair. Glenn and I have had our moments over the past 6 years I have been a member but I admire him for where he has brought this forum compared to where it was when I joined. So you guys that don't like the way it is now LEAVE or STAY, Just shut up and quit whining(I hope you stay). Kelley
  25. "Nope, I don't get on here very often now, don't care for the the new format. It feels like the forums have become a minor part of the page, the adds are primary. As I mentioned before, I know the bills have to be paid, but the site's focus seems to have changed." Nope, same forum and people are the same just a new format that is paying for owner. IMO Good for Glenn and us as will let the forum pay it's own way. Get used to it. Kelley
