  1. Look out for Lefebre, he always seems to be able to bring in a decent limit when conditions are tough. I'm glad he's fishing pro now, tournament anglers around here got a little tired of him always spanking us
  2. I wouldn't bet the farm on being able to fish in 1 week. 4-5 inches of ice will take more than 2 weeks to melt off at the temps you have described, least that'e been my experience here.
  3. Very dissapointed, I dont see any DD14's or 22's in that lot
  4. I think my Lee Production IV pot is in need of a re-build. The spout constantly leaks, that makes pouring really tough. I've cleaned the spout just about everytime I've used it recently, no success, still has the drips. I see that Lee sells replacement parts on their website. I'm thinking I need a new pot and valve rod. Anyone else ever rebuild thier pot? It dosen't seem to difficult, just wondering if anyone has any pointers.

kb is one the right track. I just got two 5 gallon buckets of wheel weights, free. The are ok to use, I melt them down first and skim the junk out of the lead then pour ingots that I can drop into my production pot.
  6. Being in law enforcement I must admit, I do not like the camera citations. I'm not aware of them being used anywhere around here. My major beef would be how in the heck do you know whom is actually operating the vehicle at the time of the alleged violation? Here in PA we have to identify the violator in court (if they choose to plead not guilty and request a hearing before a judge.). When a camera snaps a pic of your plate, I assume they send the citation to the registered owner. What if you lent your car to a friend or someone is driving it that is not the registered owner? From what I have read the cameras are not intended to be a source of revenue (although one could certainly argue thats what they have turned into) they were intended to fill gaps in manpower and be a deterrent to motorists whom choose to violate the laws. I feel your pain and you do have a vaild point....
  7. Hey Ben, you get Kistlers in your Gander Mountain yet? If so I'll be up to see you.....
  8. I'm thinking CJ is on the right path for FLW / BASS daily bag. Our clubbies I'd guess 10-12 lbs.
  9. Dunno bout the formula, agree with some aspects, on the fence about others. The one thing I do agree totally with is where color falls. I'm like KUBassmaster, I have found that I can get it done with mostly green or black colors no matter the water color.
  10. I continue to ask myself why in the heck people continue to booze and drive? I almost got hit head on tonight. A car traveling at me came into my lane causing me to have to take evasive action to avoid being hit head on. The car missed mine by less than 2 feet at around 35 mph. Now the beauty of it, I was working and in my cruiser. I swung around and caught the guy, long story short, his blood alcohol level nearly 3 times the legal limit. My Lieutenant could tell I was a little rattled by it all, I was still shaking 10 minutes later. PEOPLE, PLEASE STOP THE DRINKING AND DRIVING. It's just not worth it, and I'm not talking about being arrested, that's the easy way out. Just look at the devastated bodies wheeled into the Emergency Room. Enough of my rant......
  11. Those things happened to me too!!!! I pitched a jig to a stump sticking through the ice, all I could get was a thump from under the ice ;D Bet that fish had a headache.
  12. Just got me a new truck also. A close friend owns a Chevy dealership, he calls me and says it's about time for a new truck eh? I say no, I like my current Silverado. He say your a dummy for not getting a newer one (I had 70,000 on mine), Chevy is offering 2.9% financing on used certified Silverados. Got me a 2004 Silverado ext cab 4wd, payment didn't change, 27,000 miles. Love them Silverados......
  13. IMO, the faster action rod paired with floro gives you the ability to quickly get the fish out of whatever cover you are flipping or pitching to. I almost always flip/pitch with floro or braid and am currently using the Quantum Tour Edition Pt signature series (Gary Kline) flippin stick. It's been a great combination for me.
  14. I want to see me on the video at Fork :'( :'( Wish I could make it.
  15. Snow stinks! I'm tired of running the snow blower already, it's only January, It was like 3 degrees here last night. Brrrrrrrrrrrr
  16. I tried the 100's in that same application. They seem to have a fairly tight wiggle and for me they didn't deflect all that well, I got hung up quite a bit. I have had better success with Manns 1 minus or a Lucky Craft BDS series bait. Those baits have a wider wobble and square bills that help to deflect rather than hang.
  17. I'd love to be catching ANYTHING right now, it's 7 degrees here .
  18. Try this site: http://store.tournamentwear.com/index.html Hope this helps...
  19. Line conditioner may help. You said that you have noticed this after a few months of using, IMHO, a few months is quite a long time for line to be on a reel, that may be a contributing factor. What kind of P-line? I actually change line weekly. I use a backing line then spool my good line over the backing so I don't burn up all my good line. Maybe that would help you?
  20. Smokin boat, enjoy it!
  21. Awesome!!! You'll be counting down the days till it's on the water, best of luck with it!
  22. And as far as the PT rods, probably better blanks, guides, etc.... than the regular Tour Edition series.
  23. I also have a G-blanks and love it. I have a 6'6" mh spinning and use it for skipping baits under docks etc... Great rod for the $$. I also own 6 Kistlers and like the G just as much. I'm ordering another this spring.
