  1. Stained to muddy water - Black Clear to slightly stained - Green pumpkin Those 2 colors will do it all.........
  2. I once had a nice limit of largemouths in my livewell while fishing a tournament, about halfway through the day it didn't sound like my recirculators were working, peered into livewell to find that the drain was plugged by pin feathers....I have no doubt that one of the bass had eaten a duckling and regurgitated the feathers. Hearing you say that the bass were following the ducks makes me hear the JAWS theme song
  3. Are you asking for smallmouth or largemouth?
  4. I got nothin, in fact I spent the day painting the entire exterior of my house. I'm on vacation this week and going to be away from Wednesday to Saturday pre-fishing then fishing a 2 day tournament. I promised my wife I would get the house painted so I kept good to my word. I spent today (Monday) fishing so I guess that was my gift.....
  5. I carry a Glock 29 off duty. Nice compact gun and with a good leather holster, I sometimes forget I have it on. I looked at a Kahr compact a few months back, if I didn't already have the Glock I would have the Kahr. Sorry, can't remember the model but it was a composit frame (black) and metal slide / barrel (silver) similar to a Glock's construction. May I also add, the right ammo can also make alot of difference in how a gun performs so don't spend alot of money on a handgun then skimp on ammo.
  6. I've also caught both snakes and frogs. Neither bother me but if my fishing partner is in the boat look out, he comes unglued. I once hooked a snake on a worm, brought it to the boat, he told me if I brough it IN the boat we were fighting ;D. Two local lakes have abundant populations of water snakes that like to hang from shady trees alomg the water. While fishing one afternoon, I got my jig hung up along shore, went in under some low hangng branches to retreive it, 2 snakes were hangng down, I slid by till they were between me and partner then I told him....Not a pretty sight. Once we got back into open water and away from the snakes he told me to hold on. I didn't quite get it until I was in the water, he waited till I had my back turned then nudge me overboard . I laughed my behind off, even soaking wet, least it was hot and the dip felt good!
  7. Good to hear from you and always BE SAFE!
  8. Although this thread is about Paris, and the media is really hitting this story hard, it's really not about Paris. It's bigger than that, it's about a rich person being treated differently than everyone else. It blew my mind that she was released after 3 days, to the judge who put her back I say, OUTSTANDING! He does not care who she is, he's treating her like everyone else, money or no money. Booo Hooo Paris, you violated probation, you drove on a suspended license, you get treated like everyone else. Enjoy the food.......Oh and no, you can't have your moisturizer, jailbirds don't need it......
  9. I'm gonna have to start keepin some of the slab rockies that we have been catching on Lake Erie........
  10. Nice! I fished the exact area where you are in your pic yesterday, just a little shallower, many fish on beds in 6-12 fow. Bite was a little slow on the main lake but the bay was on fire, both smallmouth and largemouth.
  11. That about hits the nail on the head. Yes, I have caught bass on a variety of swimming jigs.
  12. LOL, funny stuff. I once hit a fishing partner in the side of the head with a jig trailer while casting, he had red marks resembling the trailer......I didn't laugh till I made sure he was ok....then I got wet....it's quite amazing how fast a guy can go from the back of the boat to the front....least the water was warm!
  13. I usually fish with 3 people, ME, ME, and ME No really, I do fish alone about 95% of the time. I admit that I'm a little stingy with my time off from work, and quite frankly when I'm not working and heading to the lake I want to be alone to clear my head. I'm around soo many people at work that I need to be alone, it refreshes me. It's nice to have a family that understands that........I do also spend time with my wife and daughter, I just have my times where it's me and me only. The other 5% is with my tournament partner and on tournament day. We pre-fish alone in seperate boats so we can cover more water.
  14. I'm running a 18 foot ProCraft 180 and been caught many days on Lake Erie where it went from flat to 3-5 footers in a blink of an eye. A 10-20 mile run back in those is not fun but the advice that has been given is good and if you follow it you'll be fine in the Super Pro.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions, nice cranks too! After making my original post I actually found that Norman actually has a Goby color in it's DD22 line. I also found that the Norman Watermelon color is also pretty close to Goby. I orderd a DD22 in Goby and a DD22 Suspend +4 in Watermelon (not offered in Goby). My thoughts are that a Goby kind of bumps along the bottom, when it hits a drop off or something like that it kind of floats downward (if not being pursued), that suspend bait may just do the trick. Can't wait to try them out.....
  16. For the Great Lakes fisherman here, I am in search of a crankbait that resembles a Round Goby which is common to many of our Great Lakes. I will be fishing the bait in depths of 13-18 feet. I use alot of cranks, especially deep divers, so I have some ideas (such as a Norman DD22) but am looking for input from anyone willing to share. Thanks in advance...
  17. I have had Mustad jig hooks on backorder from Stamina Tackle for over 1 month now. Stamina tells me that Mustad isn't shipping hooks now. Anyone hear when this seige will be over, I need my hooks.....
  18. Sounds alot like the incident where Gary Klein was shot at while competing on the Delta in the Bassmasters Classic. Remember the details? Guy comes out and takes a shot (w/ shotgun) at Gary as he goes by. On return trip Gary has his ESPN camera man run tape and they get the guy on tape waving as if nothing ever happened. The old guy was charged by local authorities. Charges were dismissed by the local District Attorney. Word was that this D.A. also had a duck camp near the suspects.....
  19. "In a perfect world, I'd love to reallyu be able to take care of my guys so that everything they need is worked out through my compnay but in reality, unless you are a multi million dollar corporation that can't be real. Don't sell yourself short, you do a REALLY nice job for your staffers, Micro Munch may not be as big as a company like Berkley but your product and service is top notch...

If you ever get to Presque Isle (Lake Erie) that old chartruese deal will work there too
  21. Definately a shame. Another local shop closed a few years back, BA's Baits and Bassin in Meadville PA, I afraid to say that these places just can't compete with large chains like BPS.
  22. "Insert joke here" LOL Nope, better leave that one alone :
  23. I use 20 lb braid and a 4/0 Gammy superline hook all on a 7 foot medium heavy spining rod. Plenty of backbone, no strech in line, etc.. I must fish the fluke differently than alot of people, I RARELY let it pause. I work it across the surface as fast as I can turn the reel handle making the bait dart and jump. On a very few occasions I will impart short pauses in the bait and only if the fish are swiping at the bait and not hooking up. 90% of the time I fish this bait in clear water. It's a deadly technique for smallmouth.
  24. I own 8 Quantum Accursits, various models, always have been reliable for me.
  25. I use PJ's Lures football jigs. Your gonna get a ton of different responses so IMHO, it comes down to what one you like most and have confidence in.
