  1. InvizX or Tatsu and definitely treat with KVD L&L, you will save yourself lots of headaches. Also J Francho's advice on the drag is a great one. I have to remind myself of that one all the time.
  2. They are great with everything. They really ship their rods very well protected. They are TOP NOTCH all the way.
  3. Black and Blue or a Peanut Butter and Jelly type color. I like Insanity from NorthStar. Shouldnt make a lot of difference.
  4. Any type of a jig would work very well. I would use a swim jig or a flip & swim jig.
  5. Cavitron
  6. I rarely use rattles. If the water is really murky with lots of cover then I might use rattles. But 99% of the time I use no rattles.
  7. Should be a pretty good all around combo. Jigs, spinner baits, T-Rigs etc... I would keep the mono on there for now while you get use to using it. Enjoy the new combo...
  8. I did that and it just gave me a 20% discount code. I am going to pick some up and see how they work.
  9. KVD L&L is all I use. I do not like Reel Magic at all. Here is a link to a thread comparing the 2: KVD L&L vs Reel Magic
  10. So it seems everywhere you go every store including Wal Mart is selling Trokar hooks. I heard and read all the bad things on them but have they improved? They worth the hefty price tag? Like to hear some information from people who have fished them recently. Thanks in advance...
  11. Pflueger makes great spinning reel and you should have no problems with one at all.
  12. Definitely send them in for service, my STXs have plenty of drag. If you have the schematic sheet I would pull the side cover and make sure they are in the correct order and that they do not have any grease on them.
  13. If you want to do it yourself I would contact Mike at DVT and ask him about the reel. Mike gave me a lot of GREAT ADVICE on servicing my reels and they are absolutely BUTTER SMOOTH now.
  14. You should only use drag grease, no reel grease on drag washers.
  15. Had a similar problem with my Jeep Liberty, turned out to be the crankshaft sensor was bad. Cost me like 45 for the part and about 10 minutes in labor. Definitely get a second mechanic to look at it.
  16. Thats always a great feeling....
  17. Frog Todds are really good as are the BPS rain suits.
  18. You can't go wrong with the BPS Pro Qualifier and when you find them on sale even better. Buy some cheap mono and a couple practice plugs and just start casting away. There is great info on here for setting up and casting a great video or 2.
  19. I would look at the *** *** Black 7' 3" MH/F rod for jig fishing. Its a $100 at Tackle Warehouse and got a great review on Tackle Tour as well. It also comes in a 7' 1" length as well.
  20. Definitely return for the 201E7 or a refund. Especially if they are both $135
  21. I have used Seaguar InvizX and AbrazX and have had no problems with it. Also treat it with KVD L&L. I also use the Improved Clinch Knot. What knot are you using. I have used BPS fluorocarbon and never had the line ever break, but it was very unmanageable.
  22. I have tried micro guides on a couple different rods and just do not see any difference in them over standard sized guides.
  23. I have tried P-Line and prefer Yo-Zuri hybrid over it every time. But also really like Izorline XXX really well also. To me P-Line even treated with KVD L&L is not near as manageable as Yo-Zuri or XXX treated with KVD L&L. All the above lines are extremely tough and durable and offer great all around performance. You will just have to try them and see which ones you like and which ones you do not like.
  24. Thats pretty much what Lews just told me.Said they have a whole new line of spinning reels coming out in 2014.
  25. I bought a Lews spinning reel over a year ago and have had absolutely no problems and have caught plenty of big fish with it. It was 79.99 when I got it and I no longer see it availabe on the Lews web site. It was a Tournament Speed Spin with a large spool arbor. Was just informed it has been discontinued. What a shame a great reel.
