  1. It works so so, Helps keep the bait in place an also helps tear up the bait at the same time. But the SK Swim Jig is a great jig and the KVD Swim Jig is even better.
  2. I saw that also, but have no clue what it was. Hopefully someone will know what that was.
  3. Yo-Zuri is great line, original and Ultra Soft. Treat it with some KVD L&L and its an AWESOME Line.
  4. It will be interesting to see what comes of it. More choices is never a bad thing.
  5. I am definitely not afraid of it. It seems like everything can cause cancer know a days...
  6. Freezing cold and 6 to 8 plus inches of snow expected tonight into tomorrow...ARGH
  7. Congratulations
  8. I have had them crush it and I have had them barely take it and have had them take it and swim at me with it, etc... But 95% of the time they just flat out crush it.
  9. I use bobber stoppers as well but I may look at the Carolina keepers.
  10. Need to add some jigs
  11. These low seed wins are killing me. But thats why its called March Madness!
  12. Heard good things about the Vendetta rods but their is better fluorocarbon line. Seaguar Abraz-X or Invizi-X and they are about the same price.
  13. So both reels have been completely stripped down to the frame thoroughly cleaned and lubed and reassembled. Both reels have the same line on them and from just spinning them on the table the ceramics spin longer and faster and definitely spool up faster. But as we all know we do not fish from the table. So if the weather will give me a break so I can get outside I will see how they compare. The freshly cleaned reel without the ceramics I will admit spins much easier and longer now then it did when it was new. So I am very pleased with that. True test will be on the water or in the yard if mother nature refuses to not cooperate.
  14. You could use 30lbs braid and would be fine. I have 30lbs braid on my sons spinning reel and it works just fine. I have 20lbs braid on mine.
  15. I usually have my spool tension set on the tight side and the reel is just about a year old. I guess the bearings that were in their could have been overly packed with grease and just in need a good cleaning. I will take my other exact same reel and clean the bearings really good and re-lube and replace in the reel and see if it performs just as good if not better.
  16. Till I just did a bearing upgrade on one of my reels I would have agreed with you. But I upgraded this reel with Boca ABEC 7 Ceramic bearings and used the same rod, lure, line and brake settings as I was last year and I am getting better distance with the same amount of effort.
  17. I am in the process of cleaning a couple of my BPS reels and I noticed that their is no noticeable lube on any of the drag washers or plates. I was wondering if they needed to be done or not. Sounds like that they do not. Be interested if cleaning the lube off the drag washers fixes your problem.
  18. I have not used the Lexa but have seen it and talked to a few local guys that have tried it out and they are very impressed with it. It does not to be very heavy and is very smooth. I really like the way you feel connected to the reel. Smooth but yet you can feel the gears, does that make sense. The guys I have talked with have been impressed with the way it is casts and are very impressed with the drag system so far. Only time will tell. But I am definitely keeping an eye on this reel.
  19. North Star Swim Jig 5/16oz any color with matching single trail grub Strike King KVD Spinner Bait Tightlines UV 3inch Beaver in Blood Color, great Texas Rigged or as a jig trailer KVD Square Bill Crankbait Cavitron Buzz bait, 3/8oz black on black
  20. Either reel would be great. The S with a Boca Bearing upgrade is just unbelievable. I got to see and handle one this past weekend and it was just amazing.
  21. X2 on this. If you want them to last do not run them dry or without the seals. While running them dry and without seals will make them spin much faster it also cuts their life span drastically. By the way you will those ABEC 7 Ceramic bearings. They only get better.
  22. I must be approaching this from the wrong angle then. I hinted about a new reel and somehow got a new grill.lol
  23. Thats good to hear. I keep hearing that this reel was made to be the best casting reel on the market.
  24. Bass Pro Fluorocarbon is pretty good line. It is a little stiff and has a little memory but not bad. Their are other lines that are better but it is not priced to bad and is a really good deal when it is on sale.
