  1. Sale is over at Tackle Warehouse, they were $5.79 a pack, picked up 10 pks myself.
  2. A nice night out to dinner, then a day out with the kids to give her some alone time always worked for me.
  3. deaknh03 That was a very nice thing to do for an up and coming young fisherman. Something I'm sure the youngman will always remember. Need more like you in the sport.
  4. Hula grub on a round ball jig in grn pumpkin, ragetail craw keel wgt in grn pumpkin, I like to dip the tips of the craws in chartruse/red/blue in JJs magic something about that garlic they seem to like.
  5. Caught a 4lb river smallie on a blk with a small yellow mr twister trailer, that was about 8 yrs ago haven't really fished em much lately but then again I don't do that much river fishing anymore
  6. Rapala x raps, BPS XPS pro series, Lucky Strike RC, I like the old Rebels, gotta tweak em a little with suspend dots or solder on the trebels, but if u can get em right the bass love em.
  7. Only have one thing to say, trust me look into it CAPE COD
  8. Just a heads up for anyone going on this pond, dozens of dead fish washed up on shore due to high bacteria count, do not let your pets drink from this pond could be the end for them, the seagulls aren't even touching the dead fish.
  9. If U follow what I believe is Rt 110 from Lowell, right after the water treatment plant their is a dirt path leading down the hill to the water, keep going down 110 there are a nimber of places to pull off the road and fish all the way down to Rt 93
  10. Back to Quabbin yesterday gate 43 6AM to 1PM, hot, humid, with haze so thick U could cut it with a knife, not even a ripple on the water, water temps 80 to 83 degrees, thought we would have a great top water bite but not even a blow up, not even at first light. Landed about 15 smallies running up to 4.5lbs all on jigs, concentrated on water in the 20 to 35ft levels as that is where most of the bait balls showed on the screen, fish in the well were up chuckin alot of small white and yellow perch.
  11. Don't know about the one in Francistown, but the one in Deerfield has a brand new launch and gd parking, if you get their early. Has alot of tourneys by the guys who want to be Kevin Vandam, which has greatly made the fish smarter than your average bear, some gd smallies and largemouth in there and some big trout. Gd water, deep and clear with gd structure but as stated it usually fishes pretty tough. Lots of gd water in that area Bow, Northwood, are also gd bass lakes. If I were going to fish it I'd go during the wk, on the water at break of day and off before noon. Gd luck, Just to let you know fish and game frequent this lake so make sure U follow the rules and your boat and safety gear is up to snuff.
  12. I have been checked at the ramp on Quabbin, basically safety equip and registration, never asked about lead. Like U Grandpa 1114, spent alot of $ on lead free, but I'll bet if I didn't have it they'd check me, just the way my luck runs, better safe than sorry.
  13. Hey Shane, I have an old Clarkes fishing Guide that says, From Ex 7 off of rt 89 go west .4mi them stay straight. at 1.3mi go left at T. at .25M turn right. .65M to access. Like I said it's and old Clarks but it's always worked for me. gd luck
  14. Hit the Quabbin today for some Samllie fishing, left from gate 43 on the water at 6AM, hazy hot and humid, got into a gd top water bite right away on the PopR they wouldn't touch the walkin baits, bite was pretty good with fish comin up from 30ft of water to blast the plugs even if they missed it just keep poppin it along and back they would come, then the wind picked up blowing 20 to 25 from the south so it was on to the trolling motor locating fish and dropping down on them in 30 to 40 ft with the jigs. about 12 to 15 fish running up to 4lbs for the day not bad for the conditions, we were the only bass fisherman on the water.
  15. Haven't fished Sunapee in awhile, but used to be one of my favorites, from some of my friends they say it's fallen off since an infestation of rock bass, which seems to be going on in alot of the lakes in that area, gd luck.
  16. Wise move Shane, don't know if it was alcohol related but if I was a betting man, I guess 4 other people hurt none to serious, but like I stated the marine patrol will be steppin it up for sure. next up will be the 4th and it will be amature night all over again.
  17. One person killed in a boating accident on Country Pond in Kingston, NH, everyone please be careful out there, accident happened around 11:30 PM, you can bet the marine patrol is going to be out in force, so make sure your gear and safety equip is up to regulations. Just giving everyone a heads up. BE SAFE, and enjoy yourself.
  18. Be very careful on Squam, it loves lower units. Grt fishery, but it's a rock pile wait'n to happen
  19. I haven't been doing too bad, fished the Quabbin last Fri 11 smallies biggest about 4.5 lbs all on jerkbaits and jigs, was there again on Thurs didn't get there until almost noon due to some prior commitments at home managed just 4 smallies biggest just under 4lbs all on jerks then the front blew in and, shut the fishing right down, tried to get out today but the wind down there was just brutal.
  20. Hit Quabbin yesterday, 10 Smallies with 4 at 4 -4.5lbs all on jerkbaits and jigs, wind was a real big factor as it started howling out of the south at about 20 25 mph, water temps inside 50-53, outside on the main lake 50 to 53. Some of you posted having a get together at the Q, your boat has to be inspected and washed to put it in the water, 25hp four stroke or 20hp two stroke is max. If your thinking of renting a boat on the wkend better be there real early as the rentals go very quickly. I go there often with my own boat during the wk and often i'm looking for another person, if someone would like to come along give me a shout.
  21. Got out to Spofford today couldn't get out onto the water until almost 9AM due to the fog, having never been on this body of water before I wasn't taking a chance of running into one of the numerous hazards I've heard about on this lake, could only manage 7 fish today biggest right at 5lbs, a couple of 3s and the rest 2 and under all LM, all caught on jigs with rage tail craw trailer in grn pumpkin with the claws dipped in JJs magic chartruse,(the guy I was with thought the JJs was was all show no go, so I dipped his jig trailer in it and first cast he hooks up,he wasn't laughing anymore) threw everything but the kitchen sink at the smallies but couldn't find em. water temps low 50s and a stiff breeze made boat control a little tough. Want to thank Fintan (member here) his recommendations and knowledge of this lake was right on the money. couldn't post pics of the 5, says pics are too big and my computer skills are not that gd so when I talk to my son for some help I'll post it up. keep em wet
  22. Confirmed 9.7lb big gurl caught somewhere on Cape Cod, to see pic go to New England Fishing & Hunting, some kid on live chub is what the post says, beautiful fish
  23. Your slowly killing me. On my bucket list to fish there before I depart this world. Glad you had a couple of great days, very impressive.
  24. Wentworth is pretty gd, as well as Squam
  25. Stay out of Maine, the place blows, no fish there. The Residents are hostile.
