I usually go fishing for snook and reds at least two times a week. I now live right on boca grand the Tarpon capital of the world.

Merry Christmas everyone. Wife and I opened gifts this morning now headed to the beach to try to catch some snook. Spend the days with the family and then spend it with the ones you love, mostly Jim, Jack, Jose, Augustus and the like.

I moved to florida last year. It is the first year I have not attended a game since 1987. However this morning I am going snook and red fishing. Life is good.

Nice fish. If you ever get the chance fish on up the river on the cheat for some big rainbows this time of year. Are you fishing this weekend or going to the last home game of the year.

You will laugh but there is a bait called trout magnets they work and hot pink is the best color I used to keep that a secret but now I am in Florida catching snook and redfish you can have my trout

I carry with me what I call a dummy box. It has a few lures that catch multiple species. In is an original rapala, a few roostertails, some grubs and small stick baits. Usually I can get bit with those. If it seems that it is going to be a really bad day on the water. I will go do something else such as golfing or drink a beer on the back porch. Fishing is supposed to be fun.

sounds like a great trip went out the other day with a buddy we landed 30 plus snooks about ten reds and too many trout to count did pick up a 25 inch bull trout which was nice

some 1/4 ounce jig heads and some 4 inch white mirror lures soft jerbaits i have caught 30 snook and a dozen redfish in the last week with that setup

I just noticed that you fish Charlotte Harbor. I live in Rotunda and fish the harbor a couple times a week.

Just an update All of my friends and loved ones are safe with minimal damage. Trees are down all over the place but luckily I only saw one on a house.

Made it through relatively unharmed. Lost my mailbox but that is because my buddy can't back up a bass boat. Thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes. Will update you guys later. Just so you know I am in the Port Charlotte area

I sent my family away. It took them 12 hours just to get out of the state. I stayed behind. I am preparing for the worst. I know that if I make it out ok my next few weeks will be helping those who were not as fortunate. To all in this path good luck and God speed.

I think it will be a beauty contest like it is every year. The SEC will play nobody out of conference and when they beat up each other in league play they will say look how great it is. The pac 12 nobody will watch because the games are on so late but USC will get hyped by the media. The big Ten will be Ohio State and nobody else yet they will lose one game. The big 12 will have one really good team and a 2-5 in the league pick out of a hat. The acc will have 3 really good teams and nothing else. the 4 you picked will likely be there because they will be rated that high to start the season and the media will keep them there. Until we go to 8 team playoffs it is still a beauty show.

I have been catching snook tarpon and redfish up around Boca Grande It is the premiere Tarpon place to fish The guy I use is Flying Hawaiian charters

caught my first 3 tarpon 2 days ago. I can honestly say that I have never fought any fish like that. I was lucky I boated all three that I hooked. If you guys ever get a chance get down to boca grand and give it try. There are plenty of videos on youtube if you want to check it out. Next month my plan is to go for goliath grouper. My biggest was over 150 and smallest around 100. What a wonderful day on the water.
