  1. totally agree. I'll welcome 30mph winds over a flat dead calm sunny day. (except for today....high of 35 /w 20 mph winds-19/20 degree windchill)
  2. The 734 would be the your best option. I don't have an issue throwing 3/8oz spinnerbaits on the 733 but I have no idea how some people like the 733 for 1/2+.
  3. enough of a reason to persuade me. that's the second time i've heard that.
  4. It is a big deal. I'm a huge Dallas fan. this game should have been a walk in the park. Even more so than the Giants game. Dallas has an awful defense. I really can't see them losing to Jax. Whether Weeden can pull it off this weekend is up in the air. ARI doens't have a good secondary so hopefully he can just Josh gordon 2013 Dez all day. If Mcclain is out when they play Philly, it will be a disaster. Philly's O line should be healthy and will run away /w probably both games. Lots of key games coming up for Dallas and losing to Wash was not something they can afford to do.
  5. Anybody use this reel? The price for it is incredible for what it offers. How is the drag? I've read mixed reviews and a carbontex upgrade was the consensus. I'd like to use this reel in cover. Not slop but wood/brush/trees /w lock down drag. Can this reel handle 16-20# fluoro well and still achieve the benefits of its spool going /w the larger line? I've read nothing but amazing this about the SV spool. does it palm well on an NRX? probably be used on an 893 or 894. I can't find much about the frame size but what I gather is it is close to a 50 size shimano?
  6. Dallas' true colors were shown....wow.
  7. If you are pulling off 30 or 40 yards of fluoro at a time you are drastically wasting line. On average i put 55-60 at a time on and that lasts me a lot while. If i cast and the knot comes out, its time fo more line. Thats at about the 10 yard mark. I cant imagine constantly making "30-40 yd" casts as being productive anyway.
  8. just making preparations
  9. Always extra room on the X-mas tree for a new ornament.
  10. Hansen missed 106 FGs in his NFL career. He missed 8 extra points.
  11. 8 combos and 1 spare reel? Rookie.
  12. Yah...stop using the rod as a pivot to tighten down a knot. Why on earth are you bending the rod at the tip when tightening down a knot...... fishing rods aren't made of adamantium. Take care of your stuff and use your head.
  13. Eagles vs Cardinals.....that was an awesome game.
  14. I didn't start this thread to get in on a debate on whether or not TT reviews are unbiased or not. There's an overwhelming about of evidence for and against them that can point the needle in either direction. cool... I'm not sure what that has to do /w anything but the weight range baits a reel can cast was never in question.. I see no purpose in making the into casting machines either...never said I want to.(see the post above yours in case you aren't reading the topic). I'm glad you have a lot of rees....cool story. I didn't say I wanted to turn the zillion into a more rounded reel (I'm aware of what that means) and I also don't need it for light weight lures. (again...read the OP and the post above yours)
  15. Thank you for your input sir. As far as spool performance, I'm more interested in how well or "effortlessly" pitches baits. The RCS 1016 can pitch a bait further than one would expect /w just a simple flick of the wrist. It's primary use, the zillion, would be 3/8-3/4. Obviously this reel can pitch these baits well but I'm more interested in the spool start up/control and how "effortless" pitching those weights is. I do have an extra Type R handle to put on a zillion which should shave quite a bit of weight off what I assume is a heavier duty handle. for reference sake, the reel will most likely be put on an NRX894 or DX745 /w 20# fluoro and be used for jigs or texas rigs in brush/wood/trees.
  16. I did. TT reviews are great for specs but for actual unbiased real world testing, I more or less take it /w a grain of salt
  17. I have no experience with the zillion variants. I'm limited to the 1016 and lexa. What are the major differences between the two aside from the handle and drag? I know theres .3oz difference but i have a spare type r handle that can be put on a zillion to shed that handle weight. Drags an easy upgrade. How does the spool performance differ between the two for 3/8-3/4? Is either spool equal to the rcs1016? Are there any glaring differences between the two or is the zillion type r A zillion with a black paint scheme better drag and nice handle?
  18. Suck it. Suck it. Not deserved but I believe for some reason or another you deserve it.... Suck it...but this comes /w a hug.
  19. Peanut Butter since we are talking about things that don't pertain to the topic.
