Daiwa Zillion SV TW 20 Question
The Zillion G feels in hand taller when palming than then new bantam A. both feel the same length wise when wrapping your hand around them.

What happened to Steez reels
That's the new HLC. He doesn't want that.

What happened to Steez reels
The Steez ATW is a non magnesium frame reel w/o an HLC spool. The Daiwa Morethan PETW is also the same reel /w a diff paint job/spool. you can drop any 34mm spool in them if you want an SV spool. Neither are hard to find.

Megabass Orochi XX?
Not a fan of the gen2 XX line. The whipsnake is an awesome rod though in the levante and gen2 orochi xx. Others Feel kinda clunky and hate the reel seat. Love the gen1 XX and even more so the destroyer P5.

Looking for information on a WEC crank
The late Ed Chambers, owner of Zoom, made the WEC balsa baits. Arguably some of the best. Cliff Pace (black label balsa) bought a handful of Ed's replicators and produces baits similar to the WEC line. The JZ bait, while rare and yes were US made, is more of a collectors item than sought after like the E-1 and Mutt/Hickey foils. Colors and dates can vary on Ed's baits because he would make some limited runs here and there or one offs of people. OP, if that was you on WBN asking about this bait and Cliff was offering to buy it, I would take him up on the offer if you aren't planning on fishing it. The WEC stumpy is a much better bait action wise than the JZ and easier to find if you lose one.

Daiwa Zillion SV TW G vs Steez SV TW
Zillion G is smoother due to the gearing. Steez is ergonomically more comfortable and the spool, imo, is a lot better as well. Steez has bearings in the levelwind if that's your thing. Steez also uses paper shims in areas like the twing internal engagement, where the side plate and frame meet and under the clutch plate to eliminate any sloppy tolerances. It's still a super smooth reel but the zillion G, with the hypercut, is smoother in little over a year I've had mine. I've had a steez sv on a jerkbait since late 2016 and it's still great. It's ergonomically my the most comfortable platform they make but I prefer the Steez A and Morethan as they except zillion G gears.

JDM questions...
No, just better. Duralumin gears are fine.

JDM questions...
I tournament fish most weekends and fish 2-3 times during the week when I'm not spanking @Jrob78 in Fantasy Football. It's got some use and then some. Their new hyperdrives are great. Replaced 4 sets of Steez As, Morethans /w the Zillion G gear set.

Daiwa Zillion SV TW
The JDM Zillion G has the new duralumin cut gears and it has held up exceptionally well, near perfect for 2 years. The USDM Zillion G does NOT have 100% brass gears. It's a brass main gear and a Duralumin pinion. TackleTrap sells these gears and it's a great upgrade to any Steez A and Morethan SV PE reels. The boost spool is very controlled at slow speeds and opens up on a hard, long cast. The bearings, however, come overly lubricated from the factory in both the USDM and JDM reels which is in part to the new grease shield on the sv boost spool bearing that comes heavily greased. Flushing these bearings makes an exceptional difference. I've swapped spools between the numerous Steez sVTWs, Steez As, Morethans, and Zillion Gs and have used the the boost spool in all of them. The boost spool is a ridiculously easy spool to skip long distance, and cast with.

Daiwa Alphas SV TW
They don’t. Been using reels with “zero adjust” since 2016. Steezs, morethans, zillions are rarely correct. Op, adjust it with minimal spool side to side play and use brake dial from there.

St.Croix rifle handle
Guys name is ”aaron techlin” i believe who developed it for musky guys. Story goes, He developed the grip years and years ago and asked st. Croix of they would like to partner and they declined….then came the “grasp” reel seat they claim as their own and have deleted hundreds of comments on social media over the backlash. Elk river uses his grips on custom musky rods. He makes a variety of these trigger styles like this.

St.Croix rifle handle
The owner of the co. and it seemed like every local musky guy came to their defense on the FB page to the point the had to start deleting/stop commenting. The grips been around from what i've read 15~ years.

St.Croix rifle handle
It's not a new concept. St. Croix Stole the grip from a local small business in WI and marketed it as their own "unique concept". 2 staffers left St. Croix because of this. They took/are taking a huge beating on social media over this from the Musky crowd.

Steez sv TW or Steez A to pair with megabass super destroyer
The steez svtw uses a dog ear style drag stack while the zillion g/morethan/ steez a uses a singlet washer/compression plate. The steez A sits a tad higher with the ring that encompasses the drag clicking plate as well. The 2 main gears are the same diameter. So technically….you could possibly fit the zillion g brass in the svtw but you would have to get the compression drag plate and then mess with the drag height so the gears are indexing incorrectly ruining the butter feeling of zillions. Personally, the steez a variant frame is my favorite of all time followed close by the TDZ. I just put the zillion G brass gears in some Steez As and it’s…awesome

Steez sv TW or Steez A to pair with megabass super destroyer
This isn't correct. The steez SVTW has an SV spool, handle bearings, and levelwind bearings. The Steez A is a generic MagZ spool that using bushings on all handle bearings and levelwind bearings as well as mag sealed bearings. I've always sold this stock spool for an sV spool. Performance is mediocre at beast relative to it's competition The Steez A spool, imo, is similiar to the 100m spool from the original TDZ 100m. The steezSV TW spool is a really, really good well rounded spool. Steez A has a clicking drag as well. The Steez A also can accept the current Zillion G duralumin hypercut gears as well as the brass main gear from the US model. The steez SVTW cannot.

2021 Zillion G Handle Nut
Every single handle nut from the TackleTrap fits it. They aren't any special nut. Under Daiwa parts, handle nuts, just pick the color and orientation you want. Every reel that utlizes this non bolt in nut is the same(10mm) from the old TDZ, OG Zillion, Tatulas, SS SV, zillions, alphas, etc. All my Zillion Gs have them. I have a ton of spares because of how easily they strip and people that send me theirs for the same thing. People tend to over tighten them when just a click past snug is sufficient. when removing, go as low as possible to back it off.

JDM Zillion G Handles
jdm and usdm both have 90mm handles. the difference, handle wise, is the knobs. jdm has the smaller ones.

Evergreen SB125 topwater bait
Ive thrown the 125 SB for years for smallies and LM and it has been exceptional to say the least. One of the best walkers I've thrown. Leave it alone and use pliers.........

Diawa Tatula 3000 cxh
didn't think i would like the T knob being used to RCS knobs. I really like it. Great reel.

Compact SV reel capable of punching
I've used mine for about a year now. Still going like new. Same /w the JDM i've had for over a year.
-
Compact SV reel capable of punching
The USDM zillion G has brass main and duralumin pinion.

Daiwa Zillion SV TW G
Zero adjust, as Daiwa calls it, is a gimmick. It’s still a normal tension knob that can adjusted accordingly that is “supposed to” be set at the factory. Ive had it on steez’s from 2016 to steez and zillions now. Its never been exactly right and doesnt need to be. Adjust it so there’s very little spool side to side play and leave it.
-
JDM vs USDM reel gearing
He just referenced it backwards. The JDM zillion has a duralumin main gear + pinion. The USDM zillion has a Brass main gear and duralumin pinion.
