  1. I've fished the Steez A and SVTW variant for nearly 6 years now. Great reels and still super smooth. I've used the Zillion G JDM for a little over a year and the US version for most of last year. Incredibly smooth reels and I do like the boost spools. The US model doesn't have complete brass gear set. Only the main gear is brass. Ergonomically, the Zillion G kind of fills your hand better but it's the same size relatively as the Steez A but just a little taller. Not a fan of the Steez A spool but it's not terrible.
  2. i have cork knobs on all my 21 zillion Gs. awesome upgrade
  3. Technically, yes but as much of a reel/bearing snob as I am...don't pay that for them. Get a stainless Steel 4x7x2.5 bearing (preferably 2 per knob) and call it good. I'm not a boca spool bearing fan but their frame and handle bearings have done me quite well over the years. You can find them on amazon. Just make sure they're stainless steel and don't have a rubber race cover.
  4. if you the flush the spool bearings, polish the spool shaft and the inside of the pinion of the regular tatula 100, it will cast further than you would ever need a reel to cast.
  5. was put in by the seller. The Steez A doesn't come stock /w an SV spool. Just a standard Mag Z G1 spool. I have never been a huge fan of the Stock steez A spool and have always sold them and put in the G1 SV1016 in them. Consider yourself lucky and enjoy. Also, put at least 1 BB per knob in each knob . they come stock /w 2 bushings per knob. will add to the "fluid" feeling of the reel. Steez A's are great reels and the main gear is a direct drop for the US zillion G brass main gear.
  6. yeah the head comes through wood, for me, the same as the brush jig but it skips significantly better
  7. I've fished the dredge dock rocker for years now. Only jig I fish around wood and docks. Love it.
  8. he spent the first 3-4 hours each morning on live fishing deep /w some minnow bait that he said isn't going to be out for a while.
  9. Omnia is great
  10. There's clips of the spool out of the reel on IG yesterday. I'll let you guys play Sherlock Holmes?
  11. This graphic is used for all their SV reels.....same graphic on the Coastal SV, limited 103, etc. I'm assuming i'm telling you the same there here as over on TT. Don't read into this. It isn't national treasure.
  12. I've had countless latches break/crack on the plano waterproof stowaway. I've been using the bass mafia coffin for years now for terminal tackle without a single issue. It's been bouncing around in my boat for roughly 5 years and is still perfect. Holds an absurd amount of terminal tackle. I like the plano edge alot but don't use them for terminal but I would if the coffin didn't work out.
  13. I’ve taken a few of these completely apart and they are significantly more greased than what Daiwa usually does. Probably finally did something about the dry gear complaints. Excess grease in the pinion area bleeds directly to the spool bearing that seats in the lower pinion gear. Also, Something I picked up on a few years ago, JDM reels will come with the spool pin tips greased. Helps alot after polishing and that shield would stop anything being thrown into the spool bearing. All my shields, stock, had a lot of grease on them.
  14. The 5.5 Tatula CT gears drop into the Fuego. Direct fit.
  15. Been using the JDM zillion G for a little over a year and the US version since last summer. Really awesome reels. Stock spool bearings, like every daiwa, needed to be flushed. I do like the spool bearing guard on boost spools.
  16. The rod is very light and balanced pretty well for it's length. I had it initially and traded it in for the 725 Xtasy. Much better balanced, for obvious reasons, and same power. The xtasy lines fish about 1/2 power lighter than their rating but are deceptively powerful . They're plenty sensitive and lightweight. Not a pool cue by any means.
  17. Ive had to remove something similar for people. You need a fine drill bit to tap a hole on the top of the screw enough for a grip. You can use a screw extractor to back it out of even a phillips head if you go deep enough. Its not terribly difficult
  18. 735 will cover 90% of your frog needs. 736 for heavy pads/grass. Not a fan of the fury line. Sierra/champ will be perfect for you.
  19. Megbass Jerkbait Special and a polished to the gills alphas SV105
  20. Steez A doesnt come with an SV spool mind you. Its stock spool is decent but i always sell them. The steez svtw, steez a, and morethan are my favorite variants so far. Zillion g is close.
  21. no, it isn't. There isn't an industry standard on power or action. Even within the same brand. These are trout branded rods. I wouldn't expect the trout ML series to be equivalent to their bass/walleye ML rods.
  22. Fortunately, AR bearings are easy to access on the Tatula LT if you wanna do it yourself and clean, inspect it. if you don't, still, contact the Tackle Trap about it. Warranty or not, they'll square you away.
  23. Yes, the zillion G has an audible clicking drag. It's also on a few other reels. Personally, I hate it and remove it on my Morethans, Zillion G's and Steez A's. Remove the handle side plate and the drag compression plate, part 88 on the schematic above, has a small pin hole /w a spring loaded pin. you can remove the small pin and leave the spring in w/o issue. As for a consistent drag, dry the under side of the washer, drag washer, and top of main gear and just use a super light film of grease. make sure the layering is consistent and you'll be set. I love the zillion G JDM and US versions.
  24. If it's under warranty, The Tackle Trap is a warranty repair center .
  25. Probably wasn't assembled correctly when you got it. I don't see this too often but it happens. Take the springs and stretch them slightly. you aren't gonna hurt anything. When you put the handle side plate back on, put the handle side plate on from above and watch to make sure the springs don't compress sideways on the yoke post. make sure they go straight down. They don't seat on anything except those posts.
