Dobyns vs st. croix
I would go Champion. The champion has a more comfortable reel seat, balances better, and has a better variety of rod choices. The LTB blank is a touch better but it uses the worlds most uncomfortable reel seat known to man. Some like. Lots hate it. Build quality is a toss up. You'll hear good/bad about both.

DEFLATE-GATE V2: http://dailysnark.com/giants-alert-nfl-steelers-used-deflated-footballs-game-last-week/- Dobyns Extreme HP vs XP
There is no such thing as a Champ Extreme XP. The new Champion line is called the Champion XP. The new Extreme is called the HP. The previous generation was just called "champion extreme" and "champion" The new Extreme HP, weight wise, feels the same as the previous version to me but balance a little better. The new extreme blanks are also faster in action than the previous versions. I'm assuming you are referring to the spinning rods being you ordered the 741 and that isn't offered in a casting model. I have the 742c HP and love it. Feels better than the prior 742. I currently have the 742c, 743c, and 745c in the HP and also had the previous extreme. They don't feel heavier to me and I'm OCD about that stuff. They feel better in hand. Maybe the spinning rods are different.- Is this boat worth it?
He might be telling the truth but unless he's close family I wouldn't take his word for it. Taking great care of a boat could mean he did every bit of maintenance and up keep that was needed or it could mean he let it sit and polished it to look at it a couple times a month. You will more often than not take the boat to the mechanic. Just have the seller meet you at the mechanic of YOUR choice. Make sure you take it to a certified Evinrude mechanic if possible. There's lots of little things to look for. Does the battery charger work. How old/new are the batteries. Fuel line's new. Do all the livewells/pumps/electronics/bilge/gauges/trim work. Ask a thousand questions if you have to.- Is this boat worth it?
If the boat has no transom cracks, hull leaks, soft floor spots, or any out of the ordinary damage I would be okay with it. I would never take a sellers word for how good a motor runs regardless of how good it looks. You don't know how long it has sat, maintenance history, average use, etc. Being you aren't motor savvy, take it to a mechanic and pay the 1-200$ for a complete check of the motor. A compression check is only 1 of many things to look at in an older motor. That being said...the v6 FastStrikes are/were great 2 stroke motors that will run forever. Assuming the boat is indeed in "immaculate" condition and the motor checks out, 6k is a fair price.- Question for Daiwa baitcasting reel experts
It's the SV spool that will make skipping easier, not the TWS. All of the reels you are looking at utilize an SV spool and they will handle whatever lure you want light or heavy and skipping is brainless. Aside from that, go with the one that feels better in your hand. The SV105 is the alphas platform and will the the smallest/lightest and have a shallower 105 spool than the other 103s mentioned. When you say JDM SV103 I think you meant the SS SV103. There's a large amount of info on the SS SV on the TT forums. If not, the SV103 is based off the TDZ platform and is incredibly comfortable to palm. The SV zillion TW is the same frame as the tatula CT. Every reel you mentioned will do what you ask for and do it well. Skipping is more user technique than reel. The SV just makes it a bit easier. I know it's 100$ more but the Steez SV is an awesome reel for what you want to use it for. I use mine on a DX742cHP and can cast/skip a weightless wacky senko quite a ways under docks/brush with little effort.- The latest sale thread

Yeah it seems to have taken a price increase or a smaller % off. I could have swore I've bought Tatsu the past 2 years in 20# for 30(ish) for 200 yds during this sale.- Useable Bass Boat for 5000? Can it be done?
That looks pretty sharp for an '84. Nice job. I liked how my old Ranger rode. Those older hulls were not the most spacious driver/storage wise but they sure rode amazing.- Amazon Daiwa Tatula Super Cheap?

Just read on their FB page the 25 days of Christmas will start on December 8th. If I remember correctly, the daily deal goes live each day at 1pm central..or somewhere close to that.- The latest sale thread
It usually starts the 4th or 5th of December. Used to start earlier but the past few years it's been the 4th or 5th,.- Dobyns Sierra
I've fished the Savvy and champ 766. Both fish very similar. Champ balances a bit better. No, it would be similar to the champ 766. The 766 in each series are among the most "broomstick" style rods you could use. They are very, very powerful and do not the have the tip the 736 has to throw frogs effectively. The 766 is pretty much used by most for just punching.- Dobyns Sierra
A heavy punch and flip stick isn't something the 735 excels at. I guess "heavy" is a relative term but I'll just assume you mean 1oz + weight. It's not a good punching rod for those weights and 1oz + is too much for the rod. In that price range, I would look hard for the previous gen Champ Dobyns 736 if you want one rod to punch and frog with. The non XP's are popping up a lot for 160(ish) which falls in line /w the Sierra. If you can't find one, you're going to compromise for one technique or the other and probably the best compromise would be the 765. - ~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
