I do it on some. It's purely for cosmetic reasons. If you get a quality carbon fiber handle, there is some weight saving but it's very small. You will not gain any inches per turn by making your handle longer. I put 90 mm handles on every reel own. I like the size.

Doesn't this seem too good to be true? I didn't think it was possible to have an SV spool /w the spool shaft. Or at least a correctly functional one. Brian seemed to like it though and I'll take his word for it. Might be worth it to just buy an SV spool for folk that have current CTs. Those Tatula spools are ridiculously too deep.

Correct. There is an aluminium version of the current Steez SV TW coming out called the Steez A. The current Steez SV TW already has a G1 spool. I believe the new Steez SV A will use the same spool. The non TW steez sv also uses a G1 spool.

If you didn't have the boat and motor inspected by a mechanic like you should when you're buying a almost 28-year-old boat, I would expect to have some issues. In your case all you needed to do a swap the relays and see if it will go up. If it did just replace the relays and you're fine.

That was an issue on the Ballistic. It was fixed 6-7 years ago on the later models.

There is actually a market for old restored Rangers such as that and it could fetch a higher price than you would be wiling to normally pay for an 88' ranger. That boat looks to be in fantastic condition and well cared for. Assuming the motor is pristine, I would find it hard to believe it goes for under 7k to the right buyer. Normally you would be looking at 5k ish for a good condition /w a strong motor but this looks to be one of heck of a cared for old ranger. These are great hulls, too. Hopefully he cuts you a friend discount. That's one beautifully restored ranger.
