  1. $75-$125 ea depending in the interest. I would be more ar the bottom.
  2. Longer rods mean longer casts which in turn mean longer time in the strike zone. You can do fine with a 7' rod if you prefer that length. Check out the Winch line of the Veritas. I have only held them and I thought they were decent (I don't like the reel seat on them), but a lot of people give them good reviews. I would check out the Powell Max Crankbait line. There are a lot of good choices out there. Right now I use a 7' MH BPS Crankin Stick. I think I spent ~$60 on it on sale.
  3. I have an older 750 and a newer 1000. I like both of them a lot and use them both pretty regularly as a trout/panfish rod.
  4. I would recommend the Yo-Zuri Hybrid as well. Very manageable line and has to be one of the best values out there! I use 12lb on my MH crankbait rod and 8 lb on my M crankbait rod. You won't be disappointed. Flouro can be hard to manage but if you get some KVD line conditioner it can help.
  5. I use one for lighter versions of t-rigs, jigs, and spinnerbaits.
  6. Cedar trees with cinder blocks tied to the end. We sunk them off the edge of our boat dock from about 15-20ft of water (at full pool) and it was Crappie heaven.
  7. Thank you everyone for your insight. Can't wait to get started on this project. I will make another post after I give it my first go around (hopefully this weekend.) Thanks again! JF- I was starting to feel confident until I just saw that last picture, but it gives me something to work toward as my confidence grows. Thanks for the pic.
  8. Wooly bugger in olive/brown.
  9. I have one and love it. It looks oh so good on my Cumara 68MHXF.
  10. I'm almost 27 and still in the why stage. I still have a year or so until my girl enter that stage. Just continue to be patient with his curiosity or if you want to throw him for a loop ask what he thinks instead.
  11. That is what I am afraid of as well, lol. There is a reason I majored in Economics and not Engineering. I just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I start messing with anything. The expanded view of the reels alone make me a bit nervous. BassCats, I will check those out when I get back to my hotel. That looks like what I was needing. Much thanks!
  12. RW, that is an option and I will be doing that to have my reels upgraded and super tuned. I am interested in learning this from a strictly educational point of view. I don't want to have to spend $18-$20 (x5) every time I want to clean my reels and lubricate them. Thanks for everyone's input.
  13. #50 Power Pro on my Curado and Chronarch 200e7 #30 Power Pro on my Chronarch 50mg and Ci4 2500 I use a cheap mono backing and sometimes will use a F/C leader. I have a couple reels that have had the braid on it for a couple years and still work great.
  14. I am interested in learning more about servicing my baitcasters. Not for a profit but just as a hobby to keep me busy on the road. I have never done this before, but I have looked at the expanded view that comes in the box and it is a little daunting. What kind of tools and supplies do I need and can anyone point me in the direction of some literature or some good videos covering this? The reels I am interested in are the Curado 200e7, Chronarch 200e7.
  15. Going to have to agree with the two above me. If you cast anything like you type... YIKES
  16. I think you would be happy with either one. Look at the weight specs and match that to what you will be throwing. If you already have a M, I would get a H just so I can cover those bases. Read some reviews and let us know what you decide.
  17. That is dependant on where you are fishing and what you are fishing. A MH is just about all I need for pitching to docks or laydowns. If I am going into any grass and there is a possibility of losing a fish in there I would bump it up to a H.
  18. This is not a resume. Google "resume template" and study up on the structure. I can tell you as someone who has sent out many resumes and spent months perfecting it before sending it out, you will not get very far with this. Most importantly; continue to study hard, do well in school, and get a scholarship to college.
  19. I can vouch for the 6'8" MH Cumara. Light, sensitive, and strong. I cant yet vouch for the powell max but next week I will have my 704c and will let ya know
  20. x2 RW beat me too it. You might want to try ebay as well. I am not too familiar with rods in the $60 range but I think Shimano has one that is pretty decent.
  21. Good, more Curados for me.
  22. Never swam out to the fountains but my dad and his buddy used to pay me $1.00 each time to jump in and retrieve their snags. Made good money and got invited to go on a lot of fishing trips that way.
  23. Am I crazy or was this thread just locked??
  24. I could never cheer for a gator (lower case). GO VOLS!
  25. Get yourself a futon and call it a day! Its the best of both worlds. I lived on one for a solid year while in college.
