  2. AWWW MAN....your really tempting me.....im trying to hide my addiction from my wife but she will definately notice a couple new rods on the rack..not to mention the new reels id have to get to go with them ;D ;D
  3. i use a trick i think i saw on bill dance......press your thumb over the spool & line,,reel right over the backlashed line for a few turns..then press down the thumbar & pull the line out as much as you can.if you see a loop just pull it straight out..keep doing this & the backlash WILL come out..ive done ths quite a few times & it really works..i do carry a pick tool in my bag too which can be helpful
  4. i recently bought the chuck woolery lures......from qvc no less i havent thrown them enough to say they are my worst purchase, but when your ordering a fishing lure at 2 a.m off of t.v it cant end well
  5. go to their website http://www.stcroixrods.com/default.asp?section=none & look under resources it gives you all the info good luck
  6. het guys, just thought id let anyone who is interested know that bass pro has evolution jigs on clearance for $4.99 2pk....i just placed an order so i got mine locked in....it says on the site new/clearance(whatever that means)you can find them in the clearance section on the site. these jigs are sweet & very popular so i dont understand why theyre clearanced, but i cant pass up a deal
  7. when i fish senkos or wacky rigged worms ill let it sink and sit there for a while(sometimes up to a minute or more)then i give it a pop or jerk & let it sit again......most times a bass will take it pretty quick ,but ive had them nail it after its been sittin a while...
  8. i would recommend the st croix avids if you can find a deal to get it in your price range..... check out www.reedssports.com im pretty sure you get free shipping too
  9. i cut my teeth with a 5'6 quantum baitcasting rod...i loved it for fishing tight areas...it broke a few years back & havent owned one since.the shortest rod i have now is 6' but ive been thinking about another 5'6 for the hell of it
  10. a spinnerbait & a senko....nuff said
  11. i upgraded my bps bionic blades last year to st croix avids & thier is a huge difference in the weight/quality & feel of them.... i would definately suggest bumping up from a $100 rod to $150 or more....its really only an extra $50 and if it means you have to wait a little longer to save up the money its worth it.
  12. i have the same rod and am now a die hard st. croix fan......
  13. i have a viento & like it ,i dont use the twitch bar much either, but its still nice as hell.i personally wouldnt buy a bps brand reel(have owned 2 & both were junk & the service thing sucks too)....just my opinion
  14. i did it the other day & didnt finish because you have to sign up for 3 different offers that i didnt feel like having to cancel at the end of the trial period...if your interested in the offers anyway then its worth it, but i didnt even finish the requirements & ive already gotten 30 or so emails from it(you have to give up your email right from the start)im not bashing the offer ...its just not for me
  15. where did you hook em???
  16. i would check out the st croix premiers....im partial to st croix since i bought a few ...i get mine at reeds http://www.reedssports.com
  17. i am a huge fan of the riverside air worms...i guess thier not made anymore but a few years ago i stocked up on them & have plenty to last a wile...i fished them like a senko & always catch fish on them
  18. i agree with dsaavedra...i use the rapala dt4 in bluegill & have had great sucess with that particular color
  19. ive caught bass on the 7" & they kill this thing.... i guess the action is the same so an inch or 2 doesnt make any difference to the bass
  20. i use eagle claw weedless in 2/0 or 3/0...but i just ordered some of those gammy finesse widegaps so i may be putting the old eagle claws on the shelf
  21. i used to wacky rig straight tail worms before the senkos came out & it was always a great method....even today ill wacky rig minnow type soft baits like the castaic minnows & it always catches fish for me
  22. ive bought a few reels off of ebay & have had no problems at all.....i would reccomend buying from am ebay store, but ive bought a couple off of people only selling 1 reel & it was exactly as it was described...ive even bought a couple used quantum ex501 models that were in great shape....one piece of advice:READ THE DESCRIPTION 2 OR 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU BUY good luck
  23. ive tried others, but i always go back to a bill lewis rattletrap chrome/blue back....i do like the yozuri rattle and vibe, but not as much as a rattletrap
  24. nice fish...im from jersey too & i pickerel fish in the pines but i never seem to catch any larger size ones....id love to know what spot you fish in the pines
  25. i swear by shrimp....i dont peel them because i beleive the shell doesnt hurt anything......a pound of shrimp will last a long time & the older the shrimp the better....
