  2. i bought a bunch of stuff off ebay & highly recommend it.... i got my shimano symetre for $65 & a diawa viento for $130 both brand new in box. you cant beat deals like that from ebay JUST BUY FROM A TRUSTED SELLER & CHECK ALL THERE FEEDBACK....DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM SOMEONE WITH A 12 FEEDBACK SCORE
  3. i just search the internet for any tackle retailers i can find.....ebay has deals too... i just went on terminators website & got a bunch of snap back soft plastics for .99 cents a bag(thanks to info from another post)....also check out bass pro shops clearance section...you can find good deals sometimes.... also...guys on this site give up some great info on deals too
  4. i would either buy from cabelas or bass pro shops.... i recently bought a couple bulk spools of excaliber silverthread & cabelas were the only one who had it....
  5. im looking into buying these lindy no-snagg sinkers because i want to get more into carolina rigging but never used them...are they worth the money?is there something better i should get? my usual fishing spot has a lot of flooded brush & timber and can be real snaggy, but thats where the big boys are....let me know what you use for carolina riggin' http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=74333&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=10&hvarSubCode=3&hvarTarget=browse

  10. i use silver thread(excalibur)& i love it...havent found a better line yet
  11. hmmm.....very interesting..i would think that quantum reels would cost more than browning though. ive never looked into browning reels & i wonder if their still made
  12. i just got a st croix from reeds & they are first rate...i got an avid series with free shipping... http://www.reedssports.com/main.taf?cat=1888 check out their regular priced rods too....
  13. like jdw174, i basically use silver thread exclusively. i just cant find a mono that i like since using silver thread...
  14. i have a couple of these lures but i havent used them much....my friend has caught a few bass with the moto-minnow & you know what? they were all BIG...the frog is a bit cheesy but the minnow is sweet because it sits in one spot & the tail flaps the water...the only thing i question is the durability of them
  15. shimano symetre all the way!!!! i got mine on ebay for $65...this is the smoothest reel ive ever used
  16. riskid has a point of not using that reel for jigs/worms....but its yours so use it how you want.i just got the same reel & paired it with one of these http://www.reedssports.com/Product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=669 the daiwa light & tuff looks sweet to
  17. i used to throw them a ton ,but in the last few years ive been using other lures instead....if im on a lake i dont know very well, i will definately throw one for a while just to cover water... i tend to throw a rat-l-trap instead anymore if the cover allows
  18. thanks for all the replies guys... i ended up getting a pair of solar bats..havent really seen them yet because their going to be a gift from my wife for christmas & she wont let me see them or try them on yet(feel like im 10 years old again???) thanks again
  19. ive never tried it, but how bout the wrap thats used for golf clubs? i dont golf but i think its thicker than an ordinary rod wrap material...
  20. i hate catching those things.....ive caught quite a few river fishing & their almost impossible to get a hook out of..you end up getting slimed & then cutting your line
  21. a little trick ive always used with great success is if your using corn or doughbaits, strawberry jello is great stuff....if you use corn i suggest frozen bagged corn instead of canned..just thaw it & mix in the jello
  22. im looking to switch my trebles on my cranks to the mustad triple grips... my question is...what size hooks are on most med depth & rat-l-trap type lures? my choices are sizes 4,6 & 8...i dont really have to many larger cranks, just your typical 1/2 oz. traps & 4-6 ft deep cranks
  23. 5 lb'er on a 6" junebug zoom lizard..........
  24. volpster31 replied to bass109's topic in Fishing Tackle
i looked this up on tackletour & the description states that it comes in bluegill too....i might look into these "Kickin' Slab: These lifelike lures come in black crappie, bluegill and pearl color patterns. Their segmented body sports a kicking tail that fish that is designed to duplicate the tail action of a real panfish. Each lure comes rigged with a premium red in-line VMC treble hook. Suggested retail price: $2.99"
  25. thers probobally benefits to each set-up but i prefer magnetic systems because of the external adjustment..i actually avoided the shimano baitcasters for that specific reason..
