I use to use a 6'10" rod, spinning though, and made the jump to 7'... Trust me that extra 2" doesn't make a difference negatively when bank fishing. It will only help you bring in those big girls!

Perfect my birthday is the 7th lol They didn't have any casting rods when I was there but I got them each for $34.99. When I saw the sticker price of $170 I figured they just made that up but I went to the company site and that's the price. So I am guessing that Academy no longer carries Waterloo rods so that's why they were on sale for so cheap.

I was wondering if anyone has one of these rods. It's a Waterloo Salinity 7' Medium Action Spinning Rod. Its a $170 rod and I got it on sale for an amazing price. I like it a lot its very sensitive I use it with my Abu Garcia Orra spinning reel and it makes fighting the big girls a lot more fun then my St. Croix rod that I mainly use for frogging. I didn't know if anyone else is familiar with these rods. When I saw the original price and then the sale price I was taken back. Maybe Academy doesn't carry Waterloo rods anymore and that's why I got 2 of them so cheap. Was just curious if anyone else has one or has used them.

I have Vicious on one of my Pflueger Patriarch spools. Haven't tried any others yet may try a different one when I need more line

Its always good to catch fish on a bait that you don't have much success with. That's how I was with frogs few months back. Ever since then that's all I throw lol. I haven't fished spinner baits much so far this season but last season I used them a lot. One of my biggest fish came from a spinner bait

that sounds interesting I am going to look into them. I remember seeing an ad in a magazine a while back but I didn't know how effective it would be. Good to know you have had success with them I may ad this to my Christmas list.

type what you are looking for and click search. I mean I understand people may post redundant questions but we, meaning you the user, chooses to comment or not. People who get "annoyed" by reoccurring topics simply don't respond. Kind of makes you look petty when you reply use the search function instead of simply answering their question. Not all members are active or "veterans" on this site a lot are just passing through and if they have a question they ask. Now the people who use this site to hijack fishing spots instead of helping to contribute, those are the ones that I have a problem with, I'm sure others feel this way as well.

First I'm a bank fishermen too... It would be cool but not really necessary. Basically any question you have can be answered here either by the search bar or simply posting. I don't think they need to implement a bank fishing section on this site though.

Not sure if you have been there lately but the lake is ruined with vegetation it's so bad that it's not getting better it's getting worse. They need to put like 200 30lb carp in there and still it wouldn't affect anything I have never seen anything like it. It's a shame my favorite area to fish on that lake looks like someone's lawn now

It actually snowed here in Jacksonville few years ago. I was here on vacation from NJ and I was at the Jaguars game and it was snowing. Funny thing was there wasn't snow in NJ! I'm like I left a place where it snows to come to a place where it doesn't what happened lol

Yea I think that's the one where tey were throwing back 4-5lbers that was crazy! They were flipping and pitching if I remember correctly that technique produces some monster fish. Have you ever flip/pitched from your boat? That's how a lot of the pros I see on TV do it in tournaments, being a bank guy I don't think it's an effective technique for me. I remember seeing a thread about bank flipping and pitching so it can be done I guess

Lou the people who run the fishery Russ fishes in Alabama must run the one in Vermont as well. Soon enough we will have our very own here in Jacksonville once they complete the BPS. I mean they are aiming for the 4th biggest attraction in FL so I can only imagine

I just wanted to say that we here in Florida don't catch fish we catch goldfish! That dude Mainebass in the North comp posts steroid fish! It's remarkable! This weekend alone he caught about 7 fish over 6lbs it's crazy where are those fish down here? We have WAY more lines in the water but that guy just needs 1 lol. If I knew fish were like that I would have moved to Maine instead of FL and have lobster dinner every night lol I just had to share that. And the whole idea of taking our top 15 lengths and theirs is going to be funny when we see Maine's name next to all the top lengths lol
