  1. When u hooked into that 7#er ur boy got up like holy s*** before u got the beast to shore then he clarified his initial reaction with his response lol I thought that part was funny
  2. Congrats on your new PB
  3. Nice videos, I like that little spot you got there. Seems like a big body of water there are probably multiple double digit fish in there.
  4. Those are some nice fish man! What did you catch them on?
  5. Yea I like the movement of it. I don't crank that often but a few times I break it out when nothing else is working I have caught fish on it, I only have 1 in my tackle box
  6. I think that's the case in FL. All those retention ponds on the side of the highways have fish and hold some massive ones. I occasionally see people fishing them I need to start
  7. Agreed with that GYS are very expensive and IMO arent that durable when these FL bass hit em they rip em apart
  8. I only have luck using the 6" never used the 4" before
  9. I haven't had any success using the Shim e sticks. I went to Walmart a while ago and they had them on sale for $2 I think so I bought 5 packs in various colors. I have never caught a fish on them before and with senkos it's like you can't keep the fish off them
  10. Figures I picked the wrong Walmart! I went to the one on Phillips and I didn't see anything. I figured the one on Phillips would have better selection than San Jose but I was wrong
  11. Czar nice fish out my spot I put you on lol. Ima be mad if u beat me with fish out my spot ha
  12. Yea I would wait til spring to make the trip around spawn its way too inconsistent to make the trip in the summer
  13. Lol yea I am definitely taking that trip to south fl and goin out on the boat. I bet I will go all the way down there and end up not catching anything but u will pull em in left and right lol. Happens when I go out with Bass Czar hah but as long as I see people pulling in fish I enjoy myself even if I catch nothing. I want to do some peacock fishing down there I have never seen or caught one before
  14. Last year I didn't see any snake or gators while fishin here in Jacksonville, you guys got a lot of em in South FL. This year I have seen a lot of gators. I even hooked into 4, 2 of them I snagged and the other 2 attacked my lure (spro frog and KVD crank bait) it was pretty cool but obviously I lost all 4 of those lures lol. As far as snakes at my one spot I see moccasins a lot. One time I was in the same spot for about 45 mins and noticed no movement in water bout 1 foot in front of me. I catch a fish bend over to pick it up unhook it bend down and put it back in the water. Then I stand back up and look to my right and there is a huge moccasin just sitting there head and body in water tail on land. Tail was dry so it looked like it was there for a while and I had no clue, I have no idea how I didn't notice it that whole time
  15. Nice pics I bet your girls had a blast spending time fishing and BBQing with their dad.
  16. Went out last night around 6:30 til dark got skunked. I was using a spro frog and a swim jig. Went back out to same spot this morning hooked into 2, 15" and 17". I'm going to try to figure out the fish in my backyard and give the golf course a break. I can't seem to locate the big ones like I was doing this time last year, MCS and couple of the older members remember last years thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/102869-my-jacksonville-backyard-pond-big-ones/ I caught a 2lb out of there few months ago and every since that nothing of any size. Last year I would see them swimming around and chase my lure to the shore this year only small ones. But I did see 3 nice ones yesterday when I was out back so that gives me some confidence. But man if that bite turns on and the fish are 1 year bigger it will be over as far as these competitions lol. Everyone has to gear up go to their spot when all I will have to do is go out back in my flip flops lol.
  17. Good job get another fish
  18. Nice blue gill way to represent NJ
  19. The swim jig provides better movement, kinda like a heavier spinner bait. The football jig is generally heavier and is meant to bounce off the bottom, you can fish a swim jig that way as well that's why I use them over football. As far as trailers go a lot of people like rage tail craws I like to use strike king KVD rodents. They provide more movement and action for the bass to key in on IMO. The way I like to fish it is pick a spot like Lilly pads or a tree and cast way past it. Then let it sit and slowly bounce it while reeling, like you would a football. Then I stop let it pause and then reel like a spinner bait jerking the rod every so often before I reach my point where I think the fish are posted. Then I let it sit and bounce it along the bottom close to that point and then reel it like a spinner past it. A lot of times that works but more often then not you will get one before you get to the spot you think they are. Sometimes fishing it slow is the way to go if you are not seeing a lot of action.
  20. Great pics congrats on the new PB
  21. Got some nice fish there man good job. Where you using a weight? I'd imagine you were since you were in a boat
  22. I'm hitting up my local Walmart tomorrow
  23. That's a nice looking fish! Welcome to the competition, and welcome to the site I see you are new here
  24. I get the most strikes on black and blue. Also I got this one that's brown, purple, an orange I get more fish with that one when it's really sunny and water clear. But I'm not a fan of the rage tail baby craws as much as I am the strike king KVD rodent (the bigger size IMO has way more action and allows the bass to key in on it, and bigger bait bigger fish even though dinks r inevitable).
  25. Man it seems like my local DSG never has any sale on senkos, seems like they got sales on every other brand of plastics
