  1. Glenn has a great video on this except I cant locate it and don't have access to youtube atm, try a search for it there (the bassresource channel).
  2. Keep in mind most most people here are talking about Bait Casting reels, is that what your also asking about OP? Because I found the Lew SS to be cheap as it was expensive, and echo my original post here.

I use my 6" straight tail robos on a 1/8 gamy hook with no issues but yes I would agree get something with a narrow profile bait holder or a screw lock type hook that's weighted and or screw lock weight.
  4. People tend to forgot that the internet connects us and bring us closer in some aspects, while I do spend a nice chunk of change at my local bait shop I also like to visit my local internet only stores as well, a few places that are small in size and local at heart that I would rather use simply because there product is better and cheaper than what others tend to sell. They work well on the same waters I fish but I think they live 100 of miles away but when you fish a river that goes through many states like mine does, local can be broad. I would say some advertisers on here are of local roots but may only have an internet store, so lets not discount the internet just because its the internet, if you have a local shop you should have a online presence as well.

They also work great on smallies in my clear river.
  6. Beside the tackle box 1.)Leather-man 2.)Smart-Phone 3.)Silica Packs 4.)Water 5.) Hat 6.)Fishing Glasses That is what I carry in my BP other than lures of course.
  7. My kids and I have a few Ferrari's between the three of us, I have a F-430 and he has a F50, both red. I tell you what be a good boy and I might send one your way or rather test ride one.
  8. Traded mine in for a Shimano Sahara and have not looked back...
  9. In order to use some tubes with a screw lock, cut a piece of stick worm and place it in the tube and move to the top and screw lock into it. You can bend the blades of a chatter bait to make it run deeper/shallow. Hula grubs super versatile bait, cut the skirt off and you have a twin tail grub. Caught my largest and PB smallmouth using this on the fly modification this year. When nose hooking a fineness bait come in with the hook so it comes out the nose, it’s a different action that might produce more fish. Keep crank baits bill sharp by gently filing them to a sharp edge, saw that on BPS. When a stick bait has been beaten when using it normal, rig it wacky and or save for the above tube trick. Use trailer hooks – simple and effective Love using dyes to change the contrast and look of plastics.
  10. River Monsters FLW Addictive Fishing Fly Fishing The World And a few others that I forget the names of.
  11. When I am reading this darn forum at work, shh!! When you watch you tube videos only about fishing at 3am
  12. I learned something I did not know that A. you could fish in central park and B. that there are large fish in central park to catch, love to learn great show and keep up the work.
  13. I like the costs of the My Ride 115, is it stable? I owed a canoe in the past and I really couldn't fish out of it, and before I make the jump I want to make sure I don't have the same problem.
  14. I like to go catching, not fishing lol.. Bank fisherman here so I don't have the fancy electronics and anti sink devices to put me on fish, with that said I would rather catch something than nothing at all especially with my limited time I have to fish. Now If I could fish 5-7 days out of the week than I would be chasing those Wal-Mart girls lol, but I don’t and twice a month if I am lucky so to catch anything is fun for me. Plus for me when I catch a few small ones I can establish a pattern and go after the big ones and even weed out the small ones. I would rather catch a smaller small mouth than a larger black bass, especially in the river man what a fight. I hate when black bass just roll over and let me pull em in evan the 3 ponders what a bore, wont get that with a smallie..
  15. Same here I just had to tighten down the reel nut for more cranks and no issues. I am used to St Croix and you don't need that much force..
  16. He took advantage of a situation, most people would, you do when you fight, you win based on the opponents weaknesses/mistakes. I don't know his situation so I cant judge, if he needed the money and even if he didn't its hard to blame someone for being human.
  17. PA has nice information about water management, explains how they are built and give technical drawings as well. Check out this site http://fishandboat.com/habitat.htm scroll down to// PA Artificial Habitat Structure Standard Drawings
  18. I understand this however that isn't how this post started, check out the post's title. To me it just seems like the whole post was to attract buyers, maybe I am wrong, but that's what I am getting from this post. Based on your logic, he would make a 25$ profit after a $150 rod purchase why would you sell a HIGH END ROD for that, think about it..
  19. As an article pointed out on this website not all rod manufactures are the same, some manufactures will label a fast tip that one manufacture may label as a extra fast tip, with that being said try it and see what happens. I used a Mojo Plastic casting as make shift spinning crankbait rod and it worked well only lost/missed two fish using fireline with a FC leader. Point is if you lose/miss fish the tip maybe too fast.
  20. This seems a bit shady to me, you buy these rods on sale and will turn around to sell them to make a profit, take a portion of that money to buy cheaper rods, why? If it was me I wouldn't buy them from you based on this post, you may have burned yourself on this one. Personally I would keep the rods, because a $150 rod will not compare to a high end rod and if you got them for a deal that only makes it better, these rods will last you for many years why sell emm?
  21. Erie PA is known for BIG small mouths, I have read that one reason and probably the main reason is that gobbies were introduced and the smallies took advantage of this in a BIG way. Its been the last 10 or so years from my understanding. Around here if you want a trophy small mouth head to Erie and then apparently to Dwight lol..
  22. Slow down, bite was tough for me Wednesday; most of the fish wanted the bait at crawl speed. All but a few of my fish were in the deepest part of the pond.
  23. Same with the mojo, premier is the only rod made in the USA on his lineup, if that matters to him. To OP, I own both of those models for the mofo and the veritas and like the vertias better. Its lighter and I can feel more with it. With that being said I have two premiers coming soon, I hope that I like these more then the mojo bass, little disappointed in that rod. They were a steal that I couldn't pass up. I will say St croix hands down is better quality and craftsmanship, that's why I went with the Premiers, although as I understand it they are made from the same blanks as the mojos so I will see for myself..
  24. Typically people will not just take your spot/crowd around here, with that said few months back an older gentleman saw me bring in a few and walked over to me, we chatted for a bit and he started casting on the opposite side of me 10” away. I used this opportunity to let him fish that other lure which was a hula grub, I wanted to see if the bass would hit it over my lure, they didn’t I had the pattern down and he didn’t. I gained information from him just as he used me to try to gain a bass, it worked out in about 20 min he was gone and I caught another bass lol.. Really most people tend to ask a few question and go on.. If I do encounter someone I ask a few question and also ask if they mind me fishing nearby but that’s only happened once this year since they were in a known hot spot.
  25. Topwater if the conditions allow for it, buzzbait and or Pop-R. I second Rattletraps of some kind and or crankbaits.
