Replacing Boat Carpet...need Help
Both Lowes and HD have boat carpet from time to time at a much lower price than the online sources. Biggest downside is it only comes in 6 ft wide rolls so it may or may not work for your application. You need a waterproof outdoor carpet glue also available at either place and a notched trowel to spread it properly. Your biggest issue will be removing the old carpet glue as that is an absolute must.

John Boat Question
I think you would have a very hard time trying to flip one of these 4 ft wide pontoon style boats. Two people can stand on the very edge of my basshunter with no issues.

John Boat Question
You would be much better off buying a Pelican or Basshunter two man boat over a 10 foot jonboat. My 8ft Basshunter Baby Bass has a weight limit of 475 lbs and is much more stable than any Jon boat with a 36 inch bottom. Go read the long thread here about Pelican owners before buying a 10 ft jonboat.

Boat Buying Decision Help *bought One!!!
If it were me and both boats being about equal in condition, I would definitely buy number 2 just because of the electronics. While not absolute top of the line or the latest and greatest, they should get you by for a few years until you trade boats or decide to upgrade them. Having owned Stratos 201 Pro XL's I am biased when it comes to boat brand. I loved my Stratos boats. I just can't afford to feed them anymore

Fishing Coves In Winter. Waste Of Time?
First rule of fishing is if your bait is not in the water you are not going to catch anything. If the spot is available and your only choice, hit it.

Ducks And Bass
Bass eat ducks. They probably are just full already.

7:1:1, Do I Really Need It?
Fighting a BIG fish on a 7:1 sucks if that is what you are asking.

Show your ride...
That Fisher will do everthing a Ranger will except get you there as fast. It will go into places a Ranger would not dare. Aluminum Bass boats are the most versatile rigs made and a lot cheaper to run and maintain.

Little Fish Or Skunked?
I only fun fish now so if it makes it into my boat I am a happy fisherman. Even if it is a trash fish it is still fun to feel that tug on the line. As far as bass go I prefer eating small bass over just about any other species and try to keep a few in the freezer from time to time. Our local bass lakes have a 14-18 in slot and the majority of the fish are in this slot and are bigger than I would keep to eat anyway. In the fall I can get on the small 12-13 in fish and have a blast along with getting a few for an occasional dinner. If you can't enjoy catching small fish I think you are taking fishing too seriously and missing out on just having some fun. I tournament fished for several years and understand the competition aspect but there is a point the tournament fishing becomes work instead of fun. Try to enjoy life more cause you never know but to what today is going to be your last.

That has always been my experience over the last 30 years when the gates are open. I have caught a few north of Diamond Island like that but nothing up closer to the dam. I still can't figure where this water is coming from but I guess it rained a lot somewhere. Maybe it will help the lower Miss. river at least.

Mounting A Solar Panel
Those panels are designed to be trickle chargers to keep your battery topped off when in storage. Use it for that and be happy with it.

Prop Change?
You are at about the optimum now with your current combo. Too high or too low max RPM will damage the engine. You could try a stainless prop with the same pitch as your current and pick up maybe 1 or 2 mph due to their better efficiency and cupped design. A 16in prop if it would even fit would lug that motor down and potentially do a lot of damage IMO.

I didn't make it today and I guess I am lucky I didn't. Had no idea the flood gates are currently open even after looking at the generation schedule and level nearly everyday. I seldom look at the flow rate but guess I need to pay more attention

Soft Plastic Storage Bag
I have a Shimano binder that I purchased 15+ years ago and the baits go into very heavy duty ziplock type binders loose or in the original packages. This bag is FULL of baits some as old as the bag itself from where I had to give up fishing for ten years and they are as good as the day they were new. Highly recommend these bags if you can find one. They also have zippered mesh compartments inside to store your hooks, weights, etc.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I would be really interested when you get one if it helps with reverse thrust. My only real complaint with my MK40 is reverse is totally useless even on high.

Braid For Trout?
Caught these on 6lb braid, 2lb diameter Sufix. I was using 2lb mono and it was driving me nuts with twist plus I couldn't see the line even with reading glasses well enough to tie on my baits.

Casting Net 4Live Bait,(Good Or Bad )Idea In Fresh Water???
Do it all the time in Tenn. Bait for Stripers, crappie, bass, catfish, etc. Beats the heck out of buying bait and you know you have what the fish are feeding on. My PB 12 lb bass was caught using a live minnow under a bobber!!!

Oh Boy.. I'm In Trouble.
I am so glad my wife almost never gets home from work and the Gym until after 7PM. Plenty of time usually for the UPS man to deliver and me to stash my latest purchases.
