  1. I Think they have tried to time the trips with the pre spawn........I could be wrong. The 5 years that I have been participating they have always been in early spring.....the first trips were 'official'......now they are 'unofficial' and we have just kept the original timing.
  2. It still worked.....sold it for enough to cover the insurance deductible and bought another.
  3. Originally I had cable steer. Then bought a motorguide xi5......I loved it! And hated it........the sound it made when it turned drove me nuts. Just sounded so loud to me. I know it was just me......but I went back to cable steer. Sure miss that pinpoint (spot lock) though. In the end you just have to do what makes YOU happy..
  4. No grass? Hopefully I'll still be able to get my egg whites......don't ya think Jerry? Really looking forward to seeing y'all again.
  5. Updated the starting post with cost and lodging info.
  6. Hope you can make it Felix......missed you last year. They started serving egg whites.....but still no decaf. Looking forward to seeing you Josh.
  7. Hey Bert! Just tell them to work out their schedule around yours
  8. Thank you......I would have said thanks sooner.....but I've been busy waiting the video!
  9. That's too bad Joe ? I buy and wear Amphibia Sunglasses - they float. In fact I dropped them in the drink 3 BassResource road trips ago.......twice on the last day! I'm pretty sure that was the road trip I met you on! The first time They floated right back up. A little later they were perched upon my hat.....pulled off my hat to wipe the sweat and they flew off and bounced off the gunwale.......with lenses popping out of the frames.....all landing in the water......frames popped back up......lenses don't float......ordered new lenses ($40) and still have them today!
  10. Looking forward to seeing you again Dale! And you win a cold drink for being the first to declare!
  11. Do search on Roadtrip. License fees vary by state.....Google fishing license for the state your interested in fishing. $40-50 probably. lodging varies depending on where we stay. usually averages $100-125/night.....sometimes more sometimes less. But that cost can be defrayed by sharing a room or cabin with others. We've usually stayed in Tennessee. After we get a head count I will be able to provide more accurate lodging cost.
  12. Not a dumb question. As far as I know......the annual road trip has always been down south. 2 years ago the annual road trip was Toledo Bend......it was such a great time we decided to make it an annual trip in addition to the 'regular' trip.
  13. The 2017 BassResource Road Trip to Pickwick Lake. 4/26/17 - 5/1/17 As with all previous Road Trips, everyone is invited, novice or pro. You do not need a boat to attend. There are always seats available. Further, women are encouraged to attend with their significant other, or you are welcome to attend alone. Ladies are always treated as ladies on these trips. The only difference between these and previous Road Trips is that they are now "unofficial." Glenn and Keri may or may not attend. There will be no sponsor giveaways, nor Pro speakers. Regardless, it will be the annual opportunity for many of us regular attendees to renew old friendships and, most importantly to establish new ones. I would appreciate your comments before I finalize any plans. Pickwick Lake - Arrive Wednesday April 26th depart Monday May 1st. You are responsible for your room reservation We will be staying at the Pickwick Landing State Park. Call 731-689-3135 to make reservations. You MUST mention you are with the Bass Resource group in order to get the group discount. You do not have to book it for the entire week, you can go longer or shorter. Just understand we cannot guarantee availability if you want to stay outside the event dates. http://tnstateparks.com/parks/inn/inn-at-pickwick-landing You must make your reservation by February 28th 2017. Breaks down like this: Wed-Thu $110/day plus taxes Fri-Sat $125/day plus taxes Sun $110/day plus taxes Common Questions Who is invited? Everyone! How does fishing work during the trip? Are we all on our own, do members pair up? Share patterns? The lake is pretty big. Do we all launch at the same time in the morning as a group or everyone do their own thing? To begin with, this is not a tournament. It's just a bunch of folks who enjoy the fishing and camaraderie. Everyone does their own thing when fishing. They launch when they want and where they want. As for pairings, every evening we do our best to pair everyone up for the next day. NO ONE is left standing on the bank. How does lodging work, do we tell you if we require a room? Do we get paired up for rooms with other members? It is the responsibility of each individual to arrange their own accommodations. We have blocked 6 cabins for BR members, but reservations must be made by you. The block will be removed March 1st, so unreserved cabins may not be available after that date. Stay active on the Road Trip forum and post from time to time that you are looking for a roommate. It always works out. Do i need to bring a boat? NO, you do not need a boat. Everyone is welcome, and everyone fishes! We hold random drawings (see schedule above) to pair boaters/non-boaters up.

  15. We left the boat ramp around 05:30 Saturday....still dark.....fished til about 10:30....out before the majority of the lake lice were awake. ?
  16. I've been using it for a few months now. It's the greatest stuff I've ever seen. Once I've applied it....I can throw any lure and hook up a fish.....a big fish! They seem to become very aggressive and kind of push the dinks out of the way. If you don't use this stuff....you're crazy! Just joshing ya. Had this been an actual endorsement you would have been instructed where to buy and send your money. Tight lines
  17. Yes if you brought a boat there is usually someone who comes without a boat. At Toledo Bend.....I only used my boat 1 day and went out with someone else the other days. it always works out.....nobody is left at the dock.
  18. I've tried wearing them......I can't do it. i hate things that cling.
  19. A few weeks back I caught a small rock. I still have it.....thinking about getting it mounted ?
  20. That is what I used for a year with my single axle boat trailer.....John Deere 430. pulled up the hill ok......would not want to try it on the slope with my dual axle boat trailer. flat ground would be ok.......but it was a hefty garden tractor. Then I added this and sold the tractor.
  21. You guys made me go out and find a set of Ultimate Bass Library Books. They will compliment my other Fishing book library. Plenty of reading for the winter.
