  1. I use a corn kernel on a small hook. They will nibble at it, but eventually one will try swallowing the whole thing.
  2. Most places are sold out and they are not showing it online anymore. You might have to wait until the the next sale.
  3. I am glad to hear that they have great customer service.
  4. Have fun and good luck tomorrow. I am in Florida this weekend, but I'll email you when I get back next week and we'll try to go fishing.
  5. You can try calling BPS and see if they will do a price match.
  6. Holy cow, what size weight did you use?
  7. I got the 7' medium lipless crankbait model. I like the flex of the rod and the overall weight/balance with the reel mounted feels pretty good. I won't be fishing with it for a while. But I am surprised that 5/16 oz is the upper range of the lure weight. I have rods that are more flimsy that are rated for more weight.
  8. If you have a Dick's near you, why don't you take your reel in and try it on the rod to see how well it balances.
  9. My local store was pretty much cleaned out. I hope that they will restock later in the week.
  10. I received an email about the sale starting on Sunday. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=21351446&camp=Email:05172013TackleLink:BODY-FishingSale&csm=429530131&csc=217762&csa=428568391&csu=217840&mcid=33900144
  11. Dick's will have them starting Sunday, 2 for $50.
  12. They are going to be on sale at Dicks starting Sunday.
  13. Why are you letting it tick you off. As long as they are catching fish, it's all good.
  14. I am close to Huntsman Lake. As mentioned before it is hard to catch bass there. I am not saying that there is no bass, just that they are hard to catch. I have only caught one. But there are plenty of catfish and carp. That's what I aim for mostly there.
  15. I thought I read some where that the Yo-Zuri #6 was about the same diameter as mono #8. Can someone confirm?
  16. I know it's not a bass, but I hope you enjoyed the fight. Most times I don't care what I catch. I just like the excitement of having a fish on my line....especially a big one.
  17. Good luck A-Jay. I also got the book this winter, but I have not made the committment like you. I think that I should get more consistent in catching the small fish before moving on to the monsters. But I will be cheering for you.
  18. Hey CP, I am in Springfield and I know a private pond that has some 5+ fish. If you have time and want to come out, we might be able to work out a ride for you.
  19. I get that pain sometimes. I added weight to the butt end of my rod to make the tip light and it helped a lot. And I try to case with both hands to take the pressure off my right wrist. For some reason, I only get that pain with my casting rod and not with the spinning.
  20. Canned corn and bread balls work great for me.
  21. Wow....impressive!
  22. I have an Avenger and it has held up pretty well for me. It is smooth and trouble free. It even comes with a spare spool. The only complaint that I have is the graphite frame and the paint tend to chip. But at the price, it is hard to get an aluminum. However, for about $15 more, you can get the BPS Pro Qualifier that seems to be more solid. I have one of those too.
  23. Awesome fish. How did it feel pulling that monster into the boat?
  24. You need to pan out a little bit more on the shots so we can see more of the fish. Less face, more fish....JK.
