  1. Today could be our first 80 degree day, no bobber blooms yet, but I know they are on their way. LOL
  2. Weightless Texas Rigged Senko, Green Pumpkin. Totally committed to that lure and technique.
  3. 9 mile or Metro park . Google Lake St. Clair. Quite a few sites with up to date information on fishing and lake conditions.
  4. If it is legal in your state, chum some corn then throw a baited hook with corn in the middle of the chum with slack in the line and either your bail open or drag loosened. If you could chum an area for a day or two at the same time each day the fish will be waiting for ya.
  5. I'm a big fan of the chunk as a trailer on my jigs(swim, bladed, and skirted)
  6. Wait a few days and then hit it again. I also frequent a small body of water often and have found that the fish are always in the same general area most of the time. One exception to that rule is going on right now. The fish have'nt yet moved from their winter holes yet which is making them extremely difficult to catch. Once they get done with the spawning ritual, they will be right back to their favorite areas.
  7. After reading this thread, I went out this afternoon and threw mine for the first time. I added a pit boss as a trailer and sure enough it came to the top.. Used a 5:0:1 gear ratio. Back to my D&M bladed swim jigs.
  8. 20 lb braid, with or without leader.
  9. I always start with a spinnerbait, knowing that most of my time is going to be devoted on the bottom with some sort of plastic involved. I just can't start on the bottom first.
  10. That's what practice is all about. Use whatever you have to practice tying knots. Once you are confident in tying that knot, use it on your actual setups.
  11. 5" yamamoto senko #297 !!!
  12. I'm currently using Stren and power pro. No complainants with either.
  13. I'll continue with the stick bait theme, any brand in green pumpkin, t-rigged weightless. I can't comment on the wacky rig cus I haven't used it yet, but I hear it's a good one.
  14. This will be my first year wacky rigging with the o rings crossed over each other. Hope to try it out tomorrow weather permitting.
  15. T rigged weightless is my favorite, however these things can be fished anyway you can think of. A perfect example was tonight, I was fishing them weightless over the drop offs and swimming them back to shore and the fish were loving it.(Green pumpkin megastick tonight)
  16. I use an offset hook with the bullet weight pegged, which some people call a Florida rig or a Texas ririgged weightless, both skin hooked. These are what I am most comfortable with when it comes to worm fishing in general. There's all kinds of different presentations when it comes to plastics, each involving different types of terminal tackle and plastics.
  17. No superstitions here. Megastrike( Original and Crawfish ) on all plastics. The scented ones just get a little dab.
  18. I would practice tying some of these knots first with the mono. Lets get you confident in doing that before you try to moving on to flouro.
  19. I've always been partial to the 7" thumper.
  20. The largies love those around here.
  21. I use a back pack. I can get four 3600 size plano's for terminal tackle, cranks, jiggs, and spinnerbaits. I use a soft side cooler for plastics. All of that fits nicely in the backpack.
  22. GYBC senko gets thrown each and every time I go fishing(Green Pumpkin Blk) So now you know.
  23. Wow, this is exciting. I contacted the DNR earlier this year on this very subject. They responded with a pdf of their proposals. None of which were an open season. This should be interesting. The DNR's stance is that they would have difficulty enforcing the closed Walleye, Pike and Musky seasons, at least that is what they told me. Just finished reading an article on another forum, it appears that MDNR has given it's complete blessing to this legislation. Not sure what has changed their mind as far as enforcement of the other closed seasons, however I will be happy when I can cast a line right after ice out.
