  1. OMG the Lazy Ike, I remember that one from when I was a kid!
  2. If it wasnt for my spinning gear I wouldnt catch half the fish I do. Keep it, but a Stardic on it and rock on.
  3. Yeah, the brush jig is amazing. He does a great job, makes most if not all of the orders as they come, like a gourmet restaurant for jigs! I believe is supporting "local" or American business because that is how this country go to be great, and I feel like that is the only way we can pull ourselves out of this bothersome time we are in as a country. He does a better job then all of the big company jig makers, plus he cares purely my OP.
  4. wonder how hard it would be to hydro dip my kayak I want the whole thing to look like that carbon fiber image! woooooosh, back to reality.
  5. He miGht be gone I think he told me he's getting married this weekend!
  6. Two of a few that I made, good way to pass the winter time lull
  7. In-line spinner switchblade hybrid Playing around with you idea, sacrificed an old spinner bait, obviously you can use whatever blades you want, but I just used the ones that were on this one not sure how it would turn out, maybe it will work
  8. ANyone have a link to it? I need a good laugh.
  9. If it is not patented he can go fish by himself
  10. I am going to start keeping a few this season to weed out the smaller ones. Fish is fish to me, and I eat for a nutrition stand point not so much for flavor, and oil + spices = good taste to anything.
  11. Or better yet, make the front wire straight, and add an inline spinner blade....
  12. This is a good use of spare spinner baits. Let us know how it swims. Looks similar to something out on the market, Talon Custom Lures Shibui Yana Swim Jig You can find them on TW You might want a bigger prop, that little one might not create enough of what you are looking for. Another good Idea, is to remove the spinner blade and prop, and on the front wire put some beads and clankers to create noise when you yo-yo the bait. Just another idea.
  13. Interdasting, if I had not already purchased the Vendetta 2's for this season I would have just scooped these up. Paired with a Lew's SS the combo feels great and is light.
  14. Really, I would take the ones at the price any day! They are good rods, I keep telling people, for the price they can not be beat. My only grip is sometimes the guides are not placed on the rods 100% straight, but I have only seen a few like this.
  15. Grew up fishing the Wisconsin river in West Bend and when I moved to Ohio I started fishing lakes and ponds. We moved when I was 8, and I am now 30. I have caught one smallie in that stretch of time, and the fight is still the best, bu I do love my LMB now good times, I miss Wisconsin waters.
  16. I would texas rig them, with the hula part being the front and the double tail being the back. or c-rig
  17. Yes Abu's are on the stiff side, but they are good rods. I like the actions of the rods, but I stick with the Vendetta's, once you have some time into them they become great performers. I am sure you get more reliable actions/quality with the top of the line models of Abu rods, but I am not shelling out 180 to find out right now.
  18. I use the BOSS hubs, and I just put a skirt that I make with a rubber rattle band on the hub. Need to use some lube, either spit or KVD line and lure (works best, smells less), and then a little finesse and you have it made!
  19. Yeah, that Gander location is pretty suspect, they always have staffing issues....when I go to check out it is like I am bother the kid working because he has to put his phone down. He asked me when I handed him the basket, "Are the all green tags?", I said..."yup". He scanned them all, and just gave me all half off. I might go back tomorrow and start slapping green stickers on some Costas
  20. PLINE CXX will sink, but very slowly
  21. yup I will buy the cheapest 10lb mono I can and back that for braid, only ever done this with braid though
  22. If you have a spare spool just spool the line from one to the other, then use a rag with KVD and respool while conditioning the line. But Honestly, if you just SOAK the spool it will do as good I think. I use KVD on every line I use and it works WONDERS, FC, Copoly, Mono, braid it does it all
  23. Guess I am slow to the party lol. They never advertise at that store, unless I walk around I never see the deals, and my wife only lets me near that place few and far between
  24. Well I am like you. I started off when I was younger fishing only mono, then after year of mono in my childhood I tried braid, and I hated it TBH, then went to Floro line, and it is ok but I just can't deal with the cost. Last season I went back to mono to save some money, had a good season really. This season I am going to mono backed braid with copoly leaders. Everything about braid I love. I only fish jigs, plastics, topwater and very few crankbaits so braid will work well for what I need it to do. I do like to keep one sort of line, and I feel that braid allows you to keep that objective, you can just swap out leaders for the rest, which is really easy to do.
