Kvd Line Conditioner. Did I Waist My Money?
To get the most out of KVD here is what seems to work best for me. I re-spool usually once a month, depends on the line/setup but FC gets used more than anything. I will tie the line on the spool, spool maybe 20 yards and soak the line with KVD, then spool 3/4 full then soak again, then complete the spool and soak again. Maybe 15 sprays total. I will let that sit for a few days, then sray a few before I use it. After about 10 casts everything is great, and I use the bottom barrel Vicious FC KVD makes my Stren Mono 8# silk! If you do not like it, I will give you my address

What Would You Fish With Here?
I would work those pads as much as you can, poppers on the top, spinners for upper/medium water and try some jigs or trigs for the bottom. and what everyone else saiid, looks like a nice place!

Looking For Information
well deer seasons for bows is September 29, 2012 through February 3, 2013 so that is why I am leaning in that direction. fits more of my time frame for the next few years.

On The Rocks
I normally toss them under overhangs, and it is usually a pretty sandy/soft bottom, and bass eat them.

Looking For Information
Cool, I am familiar with bow pricing for xbows and compounds, but not so much with shotguns anymore. I would love to be able to get a good combo gun, 12/20ga w/ two barrels for 500 or less. I will be checking DSG and Gander Mnt this week to see what they have going on. Depending on other factors, if I don't get a gun it will most likely be a xbow from the Horton line. we will see

Looking For Information
I have been a lifelong outdoors-men, backpacking, camping, fishing all the time, did some very small hunting when I was a teen, nothing major or bigger than a rabbit. I am looking to get into hunting during the fall/winter months, not in any great hurry really as school takes up the majority of my time, but I want to slowly get into it, maybe head out once or twice on my winter break this year. I am trying to decided what would be best long term to invest time and money into, gun or bow hunting. I have used both, and don't mind either, but I want to go with one or the other for the time being. factors are mainly just money, as far as start up goes. I am going to get either a basic compound bow set, whatever I can find cheapest to get me by that has all I need, or a good starting point 20gauge slug gun. So any tips, pointers is great, this is new to me for the most part unlike fishing. point me in the right direction for information would be even better, i couldn't find any really good forums, but would like to know about them. also, I am from NE Ohio. Thanks.

Monofilament
You should try Vicious Floro, it is cheap, and the 12-15# soaked with KVD works really well. I am trying the 17# now, and do not like it at all, just too stiff, even with KVD. For the price, it is worth the try, I personally love it for jigging and weighted plastics. Also a wet trilene/colby knot works 100% of the time.

Monofilament
I use mono for my spinning gear, 8# stren original, love the stuff. I will use FC for my bait caster, which I only use for spinners, jigs, weighted plastics. I Use Mono for top water rods. I rarely use a crank bait, but if I do I will use 12# FC. I have only ever used Stren original for mono, and wont change unless there is a clear cut top dawg!

Snaped Mojobass
x2 I would say there was an issue with the rod, you should not have a problem getting a new one from them.

Summertime Panfish Painted...
those and the gills you made in the other thread I seen are by far, the best looking painted cranks I personally have ever seen. it looks like you put a printed foil covering on the bait, and used a gloss finish it looks that realistic. the crappie is dead on man, great work!

Flurocarbon Snapping And Knots?
I am sure it has been stated in this thread already, trilene knot for FC is a must. It is the only knot I trust with FC line, and I have never had an issue with it. Once you tie it 5 times, you will have it down no problem. most of the issues people have with it is that they forget to pull the single tag, and main line away to cinch it down tight, and end up with a loose knot. And don't forget to lube it good

Abu Garcia Veritas Owners Have Questions
Hey, FWIW I don't own a Veritas, however I do own Abu rods, and my Fav right now is my Vendetta's. I feel like for what I paid, it has awesome backbone and great sensitivity. I am waiting to buy any new Abu rods until the Vendetta 2 drops this fall to see if it is worth upgrading to the Veritas, or even the Villain. I know it shouldn't matter but I don't like the white rod color lol.

Abu Garcia Promax Reel.
for a 100$ you can get a Revo S GenII right now, it is a no-brainer, Revo's are the standard IMO as far as Abu reels go. I would spend the extra for a SX, they are epic in use and style and bass care about style

What Are Some Great Bait Caster Combos For Around $120?
If you want new, it is going to be hard to find, Personally I would spend the majority of the money on the Rod, looking at the 70-90 dollar price range and then find a good discounted real to get you by till you can afford a better one. I was short on cash and purchased a black max/vengeance combo from dicks with a 20$ rebate, which overall costs 60 bucks. Honestly, the rod is a MH/F 6'9" and is pretty d**n stiff, nice backbone and has a good balance, which I am surprised, not ultra sensitive but works for jigs and spinners. The reel is functional, takes some tuning and getting used to, but this combo will do for jigs, spinner baits and anything heavy. I have caught a good amount of bass on this setup this year with Vicious FC 15/17# and for the budget price I am happy as a clam. I do love Abu Garcia, because I feel like the Reals are awesome, and the rods, while not being the best, for what you pay for they are really good, I love the Vendetta's that I own, and will be buying up the Vendetta II when it drops this fall to put with my Revo SX. While I am at it, I have a Vendetta M/F 7' for spinning with the Orra S reel. I absolutely love the reel and the rod. The Vendetta is under rated I feel, and is strong as well as sensitive. That combo is more around 160-180 depends on discounts and where you buy it from. As far as the line I have used with those, for spinning I always use Stren Org, 8# or lower. For BC I have been using Vicious FC because I am not as familiar with FC line and wanted to see what the "bottom of the barrel" was like, to make my choice, I like the 15# a lot, w/ KVD conditioner it is really workable.

Longer Or Shorter Rods For Shakey Head
I use a 7' M/F Vendetta and it works great for both Wacky and Shaky, which is usually what I toss on it.

Are These Areas Worth Fishing? Pics Inside.
I would try some top water, your choice really over and around the whole area. I would also try swimming a jig/spinner bait over the tops and deep as you can go without getting to snagged up. Work the edges of the grass, where it becomes open water again, maybe with a t-rigged worm/creature.

Spinnerbaits
I will use them in lower light conditions, overcast sky's, and sometimes as a search bait. I also never usually straight retrieve the spinner bait either, always give it a lot of action, bass like it when you fluff the skirt which can be done my reeling and stopping for a moment.

How Do You Transport Your Kayak?
I know a few people that do this: They will use two straps, one for the front and one for the back of the roof, slice two pool noodles and cover the strap so the kayak can sit on it. then they use 2 more straps on the front and back to tie it to the car. works well, and is stable, and really cheap.

Which Line Is Most Visible?
Here is something that will help, well should. Hone your knot tying skills, and use the Trilene knot for all your FC, I have also seen it called a Colby Knot, it is the strongest knot you can get, always make sure you are wetting it when you are snitching it down. Palomar will result in a lot of break off's, and even more when you get into higher # FC line. That is what I have noticed anyway, and that's all I ever used to use across the board. Now I will use a clinch with Mono always, and Trilene/Colby with FC. Remember just practice the knots, and it will be the best hing ever. But for visibility, FC is harder to see than MONO so they claim, I tend to agree. I use Vicious FC and I prefer the 15# test the most, it needs line conditioner for sure, but for the price it is not that bad. I am still on the fence about FC lines, and so I am not investing money into nicer line until I feel it is work it.
