I usually use Vicious FC, and it is pretty much considered by most to be garbage FC line. Which it is, until you use KVD line conditioner on it, then it is great I am still not sold on FC line, but since I have switched my Braid for FC on all BC's I have had more catches. I find that 15lb FC handles the best as far as Vicious goes, the 17lb and up is very stiff, and needs a good soak with KVD to break in.

Doesnt seem to matter for the most part. Sometimes fish like a bigger bait, and thats where the creature bait might help depending on the chunk size you are using

Hey all, From NE Ohio, land locked angler here. I usually fish for bass all the time, however when the bite gets tough I will switch to cats. Going to be purchasing a kayak within the next year so can't wait to finally get out on the water. I am here for learning and for good quality convo, so far great site with a great community.

Next question I will probably just end up buying my kayak un-rigged, which will save me a few hundred dollars. I have found a good website that I can get my rigging equipment from that I feel is reasonable, and just do all that myself, as I like to have everything where I want it to be. Question is, does the money self spent on rigging really save over buying it pre-rigged? I have what it will cost me to get an anchor system, rigging kit to cover almost everything I will need to do, new seat, exrta rod holder Also, any extra advice would be great, for once I am not jumping into something and trying to do it the right way

The wilderness systems ride is a rig that keeps coming back around as one of my best options. I will almost only be fishing lakes and ponds this might be the best option for me.

I have been eyeing the wilderness line for a while now. most people around here in ohio have either wilderness, native or hobie rigs. My brother does a lot of river kayaking for fun and recommended jackson, and I fell in love with their line of anglers.

Hey all, I have been wanting to get off the shores for years now, and was never able to find something that fit my needs like a fishing kayak. While I have been waiting and saving here and there, I have been going rounds about which one I actually want to get. I am looking for your thoughts/opinions and experiences with SOT kayaks, I am looking for one that is stable enough to stand and cast if I want. I have looked at most models of all the major brands, and now and leaning towards a Jackson Coosa. I am willing to invest 1500 which I want to include all the rigging I wish to do also. I have priced out a cheaper Field and Stream with everything I will need (seat, paddles, PFD, anchors etc) and I have decided to wait to get what I really want now, instead of something to just get me by. Thanks for all the assistance, not trying to get into this on a whim as this is going to be something I wont be able to repurchase any time soon.

I am in the process of saving for a kayak now, this has almost made me rethink my future purchase! We will see, still have a year before I will be buying it Nice Rig, and I feel personally more intimate with fishing when I am on the water in a smaller craft, makes me feel a lot more into it.

I don't think it matters, I fish naked and still can't catch a thing ;/

Distance is usually only an issue to a shore fisherman I should know.

Never reeled any way other than left handed, which I love, but sometimes buying a BC reel is a hassle because the leftys seem always sold/harder to find.

Abu Garcia Vengeance will run you around 50 bucks, good quality rod. I have had zero issues with mine, I use it for just junk fishing for the most part, does the trick for sure. but if you have spend around 100, Falcon has a great rod for 89.95 more or less, and is a steal. Oh and I have a vendetta and I love it, great rod, strong and sensitive. I have a Medium/ Fast, 7' for my spinning setup. I use it to fish light jigs, and whatever else I want to toss that is light. but for the same price you can get a much nicer Falcon IMO

Im a shore fisherman, I have not caught a fish in over a week. Been out 3 times, maybe 10 hours total. Next summer I will have a awesome Jackson Coosa, and things will change, well at least the options will open for more chances to catch fish

Between obvious steroid use, and GH abuse, it is no wonder some of them feel they can act however they wish. It is obvious there is rampant substance abuse going on with NFL players, I wish they would just come out and admit it. I love football, but really, it is getting bad. Look at a few of the players. Really look at them, they are huge. I am into bodybuilding, as well as studying exercise science and I can tell normally when someone is on the sauce, there's obvious signs despite what anyone will say. 85% + of players are on one or more substances that are known or new. Couple increased hormones with a crappy family structure, and lack of upbringing, toss in money, girls, fame and you have a great disaster waiting to happen. And then you have people like Rex Ryan, who has a foot fetish.....gross.....

this is what I have done with the worms I no longer like to trig, I just use the tails as trailers, mixed results, I always go back the the Fat Albert, double or single. I find that Fat Alberts of each type can really get you by in all the situations, it is mainly what I use, I do use chunks with football jigs though.

Skirt material came in from TW the other day, only got these colors: black, green, brown, smoke w/ holo, clear w/ holo and purple. That covers all the colors that I use most of the time where I fish here in NEO. Put them all together, I have some nice looking skirts, nothing to it really, but fun none-the-less. for 25 bucks, you can get a lot of extra skirts made, enough for a season easily.

Someone call Jeremy Wade, we got a problem. That would be Epic to have happen personally, but pretty freaky given its so close to people.

Try a shaky head presentation, t-rigged always works well also. Drop shotting also could help, not sure if you're land locked or not.

I love this stuff. Use it with all my lines. Makes all my FC so workable and great. I usually use Viscous FC in 15/17# and without KVD it just doesn't have the same effect. Not sure what it is, but my gut tells me that it is something akin to Armor All, same color, and effect. I also use the stuff on my rod, I will clean the whole rod with it once every 2 weeks or so, making sure to put a little extra on the eyes to keep things running as smooth as they can. So far no complaints at all.
