  6. My girlfriends daughter is only 2 years old. One day, we all went to Walmart and look. So I go on over to Fishing department to see anything. The daughter wanted to go with me and she saw a Barbie fishing rig. So, i bought her it and twin tail grub along with it and such. So, we went on fishing and I taught her how to cast and such. Shes only 2 and she did learn a bit. Couple casts and helping her and all. She hooked 2 lbs bass. It made me proud! I cant wait one day and hear her say lets go fishing!
  7. Pike will eat anything. I have no clue if the bass will move away but you can find schools of shad or craws. Im sure bass will swimming around. Good luck!
  8. What about buzzbaits? Have you tried those?

I personally love using the Yum Money Minnow using bluegil or shad with weighed hook and making it weedless. Bass love money minnow but its pricey but its a awesome lure. Has awesome action!
  10. For the rivets your talking about, your probably going to need a rivet gun that has a suction on it and probably need a compressed air tank with the rivet gun.
  11. To Bassn Blvd, saying about seeing you. My grandpa used to be bass angler back in the old times. He told me once your out angling, gotta wear black, green, dark colors like dark navy. It may be true.. Whats the vegetation look like at your destination?
  12. I was wondering that can I use a jig with tube connected or is that a dumb idea. Just a newbie question. If so I'm gonna buy some tubes lures. Thanks, Dilly
  13. Since you mentioned about heavy grass. You could use any kind of jig and trailer. Cast to your destination and let it fall to the bottom then lift your rod to get the jig with the skirt and the trailer lure to get some movement. Im pretty sure you can look up on youtube by typing Bass Jigging and all kinds of video lists will come up and you will learn several tips from the pros. Thanks, Dilly.
  14. Indeed, I love it to!
  15. I was fishing the day of July 28th which is last week Saturday. I recently order some stuff from Basspro and Tackleware House. I bought 2 bags of Big Bite crawler for a trailer for my bass pro tourney jig 3/8. I went to a local slough and it connects to the Mississippi River. I threw spinner baits White with Chartuese skirt I had laying in my tackle box. I threw all kinds of spinner baits, had no bite. Speaking of time and forecast, its about 6:30 and about 85 degrees and sunny at this time. So I decided to throw KVD Shallow 2-4 sexy shad ( I think ) and Bombers cranks and nothing. Again, I decided to use my new jig and trailer that I recently bought that I mentioned above. I know theres fish swimming around and I know that they are hungry for something. So now, I just put on a Brown and Orange Bass Pro Tourney 3/8 jig and put on a junebug Big Bite crawler trailer and it has a oily scented and salt on it. I am now flipping to a grassy structure, and now the jig is now in the water and waiting to land to the bottom of the water. I lifted the rod to get the jig movement and all the SUDDEN! Nice hawg is on my new jig. I can see the line twirling back and forth. I finally got to see the bass jumping out of water. The bass did put a good fight with me. The knot was getting untied so I had the bass on the land. I felt so good with the lure and jig. I kept using it for a other 25 mins, I had other one but it was to small. I would say not a even a pound. Eye candy of the Bass that I caught. 2 pounder. Thanks for looking! Dilly.
  16. I remember I had a near miss accident before. I was fishing a pond and was doing flipping and pitching under this good sized log. The hawgs were biting and they were on the frenzy. I had nice bite, then i did the hookset then I pulled it so hard so I can capture the bass. I missed the hookset and the jig went flying and hooked on my hat. If I was not wearing my hat. I'm sure the hook would be stuck on my head. Whew close call! Hope your okay!
  17. You could try by mowing the grass so you can have the access by fishing on the shore. I would try frogging, chatterbait lures. How deep is the pond that your mentioning? If I were fishing the pond that, I'd flip a jig and jig in the weed beds. Doesn't the weed beds give oxygen to fish?
  18. I'd use a topwater such as spro frogs. If i were you, I throw a money minnow by YUMX3 or weedless jig with a trailer.
  19. I love jigging. I have a few but will get some more cause they are addicting. I love trying different colors and several trailers and make the bass go crazy. Keep Bassin!
  20. I have 2 black maxs. The reels amazes me for the price. I cant complain about the reels I have. I have not heard bad things about the academy reel. If your pleased with it, go for it.
  21. I've seen rod holders at Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas. Since you don't want to harm your vehicle, you could apply velcro on the top of the vehicle interior.
  22. Like others said texas rigged worm. Just to put this out there, you could use a weedless jig.
  23. Happens to me all the time to me. Hahaha. Still an rookie from coming back in fishing since 3 years ago. Forgot all the techinques. Glad you figured it out!
  24. I've heard Veritas rod is really good for the price or Mojo Bass from St.Croix. But if I were you, Id go for the Veritas
  25. I have been looking into getting a braid but thing is it harder to cast it with a braid? I just want to switch to braid and Ill use mono on the other set up.
