Lifting Update.
Oh brother thats the worst. Have a family member that's always searching for the latest greatest fat burner pill. So good you can eat whatever you want and never have to exercise. Yet she can't figure out why she's overweight and hypertensive. Ok I'm done sorry OP.

Lifting Update.
I'm with you on supps. Save your money and buy good whole foods. There was a time not long ago when I couldn't imagine working out without a preworkout stimulant packed drink but I no longer use them. Down to Whey on occasion, vitamins, and fish/flax oils. Trying to think long term health anymore. Dont want to jack the thread but I can't tell you how many people I see in the gym that spend so much time/effort/$ on training and supplements but are clueless how big of a role diet plays in the health/fitness world. Delfi that body fat deal is easy to misscalculate but it sounds like you're leaning out which is your goal anyway.

Lifting Update.
Great work, gym rat here as well. Not near what I was before family/a one year old happened, but I'm at it 5-6 days a week. 245 @ 8% bf how tall are you? And I'm pretty sure I know what supplement realm you speak of (or maybe I dont). Its great when used responsibly and the gains are amazing. See a lot of you talking about the no supplements, some are great but I've found something that blows them all away when it comes to a skin splitting pump. If anyone is interested pm me. Anyway keep at it! And 2% your boy is pulling your chain!

Okuma Helios Or Revo Stx?
I own a gen 3 stx, have never thrown a Helios, but I recommend the Helios.

Sending My 2Nd Gen 3 Revo Stx Back...
I have two mgx's, love them Have a gen 3 Revo S, and STX, after a long winterth in the garage both cast about half the distance they did new out of the box. My uneducated guess is thst both need a good cleaning and gear lube replacement. I Have a Lews TP speed spool that is in the same shape. Debating whether to send them to DVT for a cleanup or just sell and move on, but I'd hate to unload a sick reel to someone else just to deal with my same headache. I'm all ears at this point guys. Thanks

Ewg Hooks, Hookset Issues.
I'm with Blue, especially if you're spooling with 8lb mono, your setup may be a little on the light side at times. You would do yourself some justice if you would step up to a medium heavy bait casting outfit with more backbone to drive the hook home when skin hooking soft plastics. As some have suggested, small diameter braid with a flouro leader or no leader will no doubt increas e your hookup rate with your current spinning outfit though. I havnt used VMC EWG hooks but I'm sure they're just fine. I buy value packs of Gamakatsu EWG's but have used many other brands with very little hook set and land issues.

Pro's Vs Joes Fishing
I can't speak for your local sticks, but in my area many have large SI and DI units, in addition to years of experience on a given lake. You're right though, the ability to read and effectively use today's technology does play a pivotal role and some are better than others at using it to their advantage. This is one area that I think seperates the pro's from the Joes.

Pro's Vs Joes Fishing
They're elite pros because they have been consistently good fishing many different types of waters, usually for years. In a two or three day tourney a local may prevail IMO, but but that doesn't make the local a better fisherman. If I was Vegas I would favor the elite pro, but I dont think its automatic. Give that same local a similiar boat to all the rest and have him fish a season with the elites or the FLW and I think he would consistently struggle.

Muddy Water Challenge
I would crack open a beer and bag some rays. If anything toss a big black worm and slowly slither it through all of the wood.

How's Your Bracket?
Didn't mean to rub salt in the wound, just couldn't believe they blew it. Mclamore (sp? ) has a ton of talent but is as soft as they come for a #1 draft pick.

Best Tasting Freshwater Fish
Crappie, bluegill, walleye, imo are in a league of their own. Cooked a variety of ways but rarely dipped in grease.. I plan on setting lines when the weather finally warms here, and see if I can't whip up a good batch of catfish.

Drop Shot A Hula Popper?

Tatsu
Also to answer another post above, both have equally great knot strength, just be sure to wet before clinching. A healthy coat of KVD conditioner periodically helps as well.
-
Tatsu
Tatsu is great, I used it until I tried shooter which IMO has most of the atrributes of Tatsu but is more abrasion resistant. I use #7 for spinning and # 12 or 14 for everything else besides topwater or flipping heavy cover/ wood, which calls for braid. I like 00 mods technique for spooling a backer.
