how long have you been fishing in this lake?

my wife and i were snorkeling in our lake this spring and we were checking out the bream in and around the coontail. right directly below us at just over arms length two bass came in at about 100mph for some din din and didnt give a crap about us. i also know a guy that wades out to fish bass so imo when bass are eating they'll wait to be spooked later

all of the advice here is right on the money imo.but fin-s-r's #8 is a definite. you are gonna miss some. for me that is what brings me back again and again.my ratio is alot better now and yours will get better to.i am a 80% worm fisher and i never get tired of it. good luck!!!

if you fish there in the evening also keep your ears open for splashes. that will tell you alot. the other night just on a wim i through out a worm and nothing for about a half hour.when i heard my first roll i move in for the kill and nabbed a 4#er.so if you can walk the banks there follow your ears.

ive snorkled around coontail and it sustains a lot of fish and bass like alot of fish. you just got to be there when their cruisin the strip.ive accually seen a strike right underneath me while watching. their not as shy as some might think.

in my opinion color doesn't have much to do with it. and i only say this because there isnt a bag of worms in my tackle box that is the color of real worms and i havent found a color that dont work.so if we were all color blind and bass were color blind we would still catch fish.......btw sweet potato pie tiki stick is my fav..hehehehe

id buy some high dollar rod and reels, take the other 4000 and add it to the sale money from my honda and get a harley

i use all the same gear also. mostly a moccasin 7.5 by zoom and senkos. ive found that if there is fish jumping and rolling your still in the game but if things go quiet that might be the time for zzzzzzzzz's.there is NO set time for din din.just gotta be there.some key things for me is weedless tackle and be good with a bait caster. otherwise you be cursing all night. good luck!!!!
