All the time...we checked the wiring too....nothing wrong there. It also happens with the front one too...so sometimes we wont even use it for about 20 minutes at a time...then it will work fine for a while.

Having problems with this equipment and was wondering if anyone else has problems with it....or like it. What it does is, reads the bottom at 3ft then all of a sudden it will read 300ft...and only trolled along the shore line the whole time. What would cause this?

I would not appoach this lake until its in the 60's...lol I would slow roll a finesse worm, or a suspending jerk bait. But if no tournament going on...YOU WONT FIND ME OUT ON THE LAKE IN THAT COLD WEATHER....LOL

Are you wanting to start a bank fishing tournament? Kinda limiting your space to fish, unless on a river. Yes bank fishing is a whole lot different. You are throwing out to deeper water and bringing it up to shore. Lure selection might still be the same, maybe no spinnerbaits though. Still have to concider the water conditions, forage, weather conditions, just about the same. Just running into more weeds if fishing ponds and most lakes...rivers are fun to fish from shore. To be a better boat fisherman you need to keep fishing from a boat on different types of lakes. Find a local angler and see if he/she can show you a few things to help you learn too.

There are a couple of people on this one who hit it on the head. Get them both! 3 - 5 of each and some colors you have confidence in.

How wide is the beam of the Alumacraft? Also I don't see the problem with the 20 gal tank...you can use tags to make sure you know whos is whos.

Tritonman will be 42 this year and I will be 41 next sunday..so it is not that late in life to start enjoying your dreams...lol We just don't have the start in fishing like all the KIDS on here do. I just hope that in the next 5-10 yrs I will see some of their names on the leaders boards. Then I can say..."HEY I KNOW THEM"...lol

I caught a baby gill on a baby torpedo. The gill was smaller than the bait, and I didn't know I had it on the hook till I got it into the boat. Tritonman and his son had a good laugh at me for MONTHS!! Wish we had a camera that day...lol

This is something I should try and do with my spinnerbaits and jigs. Do one on one day and another the other and just fish them for 8 hours till I get the feel for them. Just love the top, crank and worms much better...lol

I own a Triton TR 176 Mangum, all aluminum. I love it. They are the best in aluminum, and with that all others are now trying to keep up with them and their all welded hulls. Best way to make others get better too. But mine is not for duck huntint. I do know of a person who bought one for that reason though. got the same thing you are talking about. He loves it.

It is a 50/50 polycotton Nublend yarn. So is it heavy material?
