  1. i get so bored with wooly buggers....i don't think i have thrown one in years. Once I moved to rabbit hair flies it was all she wrote.
  2. after 100K it is all high mileage. tundras do hold their value very well as do tacomas. You will do better private sale but it is way less hassle to trade it in. Take it to Carmax and get them to make an offer. They make offers on used vehicles without even having to buy from them. It can at least give you an idea of what it would be worth now.
  3. Go try them on and sit in a kayak that has a similar seat as yours does. That is truly the only way to tell what PFD will work for you. I am about due for a replacement and i think i am going with a self inflating one myself to lessen the bulk.
  4. Get yourself some slow sinking spiders and a 3 wt and then you will really have fun especially when you catch the occasional bass.
  5. i was gonna say first world problems but then i decided this should be Raider problems.....
  6. All pre season i heard about how good the cowboys were. the best o line ever, the best WR in the league, best TE and an incredible defense. Wouldn't that mean they should be able to win a few games more with their backup? I mean butt fumble went 4-4 last season....
  7. any fish in the cold is a good fish. I have been killing the sunnies around here on the fly rod here the past few trips.
  8. I think there was a post on here about Lews and BPS being made in the same factory and the internals are interchangeable so I am not sure it is an F you to Lews as much as it is a common manufacturing facility that produces a good product for a good price.
  9. Are you going to be fishing for them on the Delaware? My dad fishes for them every season (I join him up there too) and we both run 7' to 7'6" Penn Spinning rods with the ability to throw up to (i think) about 3-4oz of weight. We both also use bait runners that are 4000 series i believe. We mainly fish chunk bait though but this set up has done well. I'll check on the actual specs of the rod tomorrow and re post....
  10. 16 years is a d**n long time, especially after their run in the mid 90's.
  11. Watt would destroy him
  12. Decided that since the weather was going to be in the mid 70's that i would take the kayak out and get some fishing in this past saturday even though i had plenty of other things I probably should have been doing. Since i wanted to keep it simple, I went with only my fly rods, a 7wt and my heavier rod in case i wanted to throw any big. Anyways, got on the water right at sunrise (temps were still in the high 40's) and it was about as still as could be. I was throwing a slow sinking spider that I figured would do well even though the fishing is painfully slow. To make a long story short I caught about 4 Sunnies, 2 bass and 2 chain pickerel. Had numerous other bite offs which i know were pickerel but hey, it happens. Can't beat catching some fish in mid december, on a lake with a fly rod.... Here are a few pics
  13. Bradford has played well. He hasn't thrown a pick since the carolina game and the pick today wasn't even a pick as much as it was the ball getting ripped out of Ertz's hands. He missed two balls today to open receivers that would have been TDs but he has done what was needed to win. Is he he long term answer? probably not but a short extension I would be ok with.
  14. If you can get sunnies when they are spawning yo can catch fish all day long. It is usually when i try and get people hooked on the sport for the first time. they don't care about bad casts and my record is 38 fish on consecutive casts lol
  15. And the Eagles continue to keep my slim hopes alive....they are looking better though on offense and Bradford may just play himself into an extension. The defense is just plain burly....
  16. Different strokes for different folks....
  17. Does same platform mean same manufacturer with different branding?
  18. Shipping isn't just the cost of the actual shipping, it is the online ordering which has to get to the shipping department, then the pickers, the boxes and then the actual shipping. All of that takes time and money to do.
  19. i don't get why people think there should be free shipping....it costs to ship something. You don't have to get off your couch and the item is delivered to your door but you want it free.... When you drive to the store do you ask for gas money too?
  20. there is always a chance of something but the probability is pretty low. You probably have more of change handling raw chicken and cross contaminating or using the same cutting boards for raw meat and fresh vegetables. If salmonella isn't present to start with, it isn't going to magically appear. I would guess that the alcohol would have something to do with it staying safe to drink as well. I probably won't know how mine is much past about 2-3 weeks though, after that one sip, that junk is good. I imagine the combo of dairy and high proof alcohol could do a number on your gut though lol
  21. Get pasteurized eggs but you don't have to worry about it really at least not in modern days. The probability of salmonella is pretty low and the largest chance of getting it is from the shell so wash the eggs and prevent that cross contamination.
  22. I like his scientific approach to cooking. It really makes sense to me at least and I have rarely tried one of his recipes that wasn't good... And as far as the egg nog goes, i tried a sip of it tonight, couldn't resist, and while it was a little strong it was pretty tasty for sure. I can only imagine how good it will be in a few weeks.
  23. the sixers have control of these players pretty much through year 5 i believe. The team is legitimately horrible top to bottom. Simmons will help for sure but so could a lot of players lol I am not sold on Brown as a coach either. He doesn't seem to be developing players and makes more than questionable decisions.
  24. yup....i fly fish for pretty much all the species i target. the past few seasons i have been primarily using the fly rod for smallies and specific lakes and of course, all my trout fishing. I am gonna do more fly fishing for largemouth and try and get my first bowfin on a fly too.
