  1. I am always one to share information as long as someone asks. I am not going to offer any info but if you ask i will be happy to tell you what i am using. What is funny is while many people ask what did you catch them on, I have never been asked how were you fishing it and what type of structure or cover when you caught them. That is more important than the bait itself in my opinion. Maybe another thread question would be how many times have you changed up how you were fishing because you talked to somebody you didn't know and they said they were killing them on bait XYZ....
  2. I don't have a dog in the fight but I am curious to see what Amaro, the worst GM in baseball, does as far as trades go. There seems to be a lot of interest in quite a few players which always makes me wonder if everyone else wants the players then why can't they win....oh well it's the life of a philly sports fan i guess.
  3. I never really thought of them as pricy since they are about .75 a piece but they are more expensive than a grub or something along those lines and i personally don't mind supporting a smaller company with a good product in most cases too. I am slo not even sure that a trailer makes a huge difference on a swim jig as long as something is on there because i have tried without and don't seem to do as well.
  4. They are a good small company. I know i had a request for a custom stick bait that had a harder head section for nose hooking because the baits would get torn up so quick. He double dipped the head in clear plastic to hold the hook better and they were awesome. Only cost me a few bucks extra too but now one bait can last me 10-12 fish rather than 1 or 2.
  5. My new favorite is one from stankxbaitco. they call it the damsel and it does a great job and comes in some awesome colors and even custom ones if you want. http://www.stankxbaitco.com/product/damzel/
  6. almost forgot that one but it is definitely part of my night fishing gear. Protection for your eyes doesn't change when the sun goes down and if anything, it is even more important.
  7. The only thing i will add to A-Jay's post is make sure you have a black jitterbug tied on
  8. Tickets to the football game alone will run you probably close to $100 plus parking not to mention the gas money to get from the philly area (assuming you are staying around there since that is where you are flying in to) to get out to pittsburgh which is about 350 one way if i recall. After all that i would save up around grand for the trip. You can always have extra but it sucks to come up short. You may also be able to find cheaper flights if you go into Newark which isn't that far away from the philly airport. Also flights from orlando to philly are usually a lot cheaper and usually direct flights
  9. Rose colored polarized are my favorite. I would rather have a lens be a little on the lighter side than on the darker side so i stay away from amber, grays and brown tints. My current glasses are mirrored but i am not sure if it makes any difference really.
  10. I am not saying he isn't or shouldn't make the hall of fame just merely pointing out that him being in a big market helped out a lot and his numbers aren't that much better than others out there. Longevity definitely helps.
  11. Agreed.... Personally if i live in colorado i am chasing trout instead of smallies anyways.
  12. So just because something is a wasted cause you should forget about it and introduce new species to a non-native area? Seems selfish to me. I would still like to see some of the data or studies your are talking about or how there is proof that they are corrupt....sounds like a lot of conspiracy type information and that they are not doing what you want so you disagree with them. The role of the fisheries is not to do what the constituents want in all cases it is to find the balance between making the public happy and not trashing a native fishery. Like I said earlier, you are in the wrong part of the country for smallies. The work Colorado has done in the trout realm is outstanding and of course they are going to put their efforts towards a native fish population rather than introducing a non-native species, hoping it doesn't cause an impact elsewhere and then managing that population as well.
  13. Great video that i have seen a dozen times probably and could watch a dozen more. Curious as to why you would say the "on a fly rod" part. I see it on a lot of different bulletin boards but you never see man that was a toad on a spinning rod or a bait caster....
  14. All these options work but as you can see, you will eventually scratch or dent the roof of your car. I would save up and get a yakima or Thule rack system and be done with it all. You won't have anything to worry about going down the road.
  15. well the .300 hitter rule is not even close to a lock in the HOF, i can think of probably 10 right off the top of my head that are not in. Jeter no doubt had a long run of success from a team perspective. As far as Jimmy goes, just look at all the other SS in the hall and he compares a lot better than you think. I personally don't even think Jimmy will get in but i just wanted to show that they are not as far apart as yo think. Really the only thing Jeter has on Jimmy is BA, from a hits perspective they are about the same per year with Jeter getting 30 more hits per 162 games. Also, team success isn't what the hall of fame is about, it is about the player. You also have to remember that Jeter was always protected in the batting order by a juicer lol
  16. Maybe so...but it is more the hit total aka compiler really which is a feat to be able to play as long as he has. It does make me wonder though, is Jimmy Rollins a HOF player? 2200 hits, 211 HR, 873 RBI, 444 SB, .268 BA, MVP, 4 All star games(pretty meaningless in my mind), 4 GG (another meaningless stat really) and he is an outstanding fielder with a rocket arm and has a knack for coming up big at the plate in key spots....
  17. Looks good. What are the clips on the side of the boat for? I may have missed it in your description.
  18. So is a Jeter a HOF player? I personally think he will get in and probably first ballot but he is a textbook compiler really. Long career, slightly above average in most categories, never the best player at his position, never won an MVP etc....but he is a yankee. If he played in seattle and got the same numbers he is not getting into the HOF...
  19. this might be the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard and by no means builds any trust. Way to go, encouraging a kid to blackmail his parents.
  20. I think he is clean or he pulled an Armstrong and was better at cheating than everyone else lol
  21. I just use my iPhone or iPod shuffle and headphones.
  22. No question in my mind I would go McCoy first.
  23. Sure do......I haven't even begun to mess with setting up my league or any research on players yet. Guess i better get on it lol
