So I picked a kayak and need help with accessories
Fish for while before you go crazy with rigging. I am guessing you are new to the sport based on asking this question. Stick to the basics for now and don't hard mount anything. What you think you might want on the water based on your ideas may not be true. I have owned many kayaks over my 20 years or so of kayak fishing and my last boat i still took out a dozen times or some before i started rigging it up to my liking. All that being said, gear tracks make moving accessories easy but i personally prefer flush mount rod holders. I have 6 flush mounts, a crate, anchor trolley and stake out pole for normal use plus another anchor for deeper water when needed. Helix 5 SI gets the job done as well

Benefits of Kayak Fishing
For me it had zero to do with the exercise aspect and more because of the ton of lakes around that are electric only or HP restricted. Nearly 20 years later i am still kayak fishing but am thinking about setting up an electric only set up

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
In a sport that fields 32 starters and a hard cap, a lottery draft is kind of meaningless. You can have the top pick and best player and it won't do much. NFL is all about drafting smart through the first 3-4 rounds and making it count while top players are on rookie deals still.

New tournament circuit announced today
This is exactly why it will do well. People can relate to this style of fishing and could see themselves out there doing the same thing.

Making the change to a Yak
I'd look for a boat that can paddle well as any boat that paddles well will also take well to a motor. While a little out of your price range, I love my ATAK 140. It is the most stable of the many kayaks I have owned and the first one I have bought that after a year or two i wasn't looking to upgrade. I can easily paddle mine at close to 4mph so i imagine with a motor you would easily hit 6. All that being said, find a local shop and hit up their demo days and paddle a bunch of boats and you will be able to make your decision much more confidently.

Austin kayaks
I have ordered accessories from them occasionally and for me the shipping took forever and I was given the runaround as far as availability. The web had stuff in stock but they really didn't and then when i inquired i wasn't ever given a straight answer. Another option to consider is Appomattox river company. I am pretty sure they ship boats for a very reasonable price and they are great to deal with.

Am I the only one who likes winter fishing?
I wouldn't say I prefer it but I don't mind it. It rarely gets cold enough here in central VA that likes ice over to the point I can't fish but it does happen every couple of years. I do catch some bigger fish during the winter though. I also chase trout i note small streams and spring creeks when I don't feel like going out on a lake or river somewhere.

Planning to buy a new kayak come spring.
Cuda is a nice boat but also take a look at the ATAK. I have the 140 and can easily paddle 3.5-4MPH. It is super stable and has a ton of rigging space. If you have a place that can demo, go do it. You could potentially save yourself some pain in the wallet.

Moving baits for winter ? Soft plastics? I’m confused ??♂️
I like a tight wiggle crank bait like a rapala but the vast majority of the time i am throwing jerk baits, shaky heads and texas rigged plastics and jigs. I just slow everything down.

Fall Trout Fishing Recommendations Northern VA
head west down towards harrisonburg and go to the George Washington national Forest. There are tons of native streams and a few spring creeks too. I love fishing mossy creek outside of bridgewater but i know they had some massive flooding so not sure exactly the status. If you do go for Brookies, give them another week or so at least to make sure they are done spawning. All this rain, from what my friends have told me, have really messed things up and you don't want to add to the problems. there is a great fly shop in harrisonburg, http://mossycreekflyfishing.com that can get you pointed in the right direction.

How Do You Like Them Apples ??
This is the first year in quite a few that we didn't make a trip to the apple orchard. Gala are my kids favorites but i love granny smiths myself. I like cider too but only if it is ice cold...it also mixes very well with fireball

Going back to budget?
Sensitivity is all relative but for me i have been pleased with my duckett micro magic, shimano curado and st croix rage rods as far as sensitivity is concerned.

Why kill snakeheads?
the removal of an established fish population by killing never works. They don't destroy an ecosystem and have improved bass populations in every study i have seen. Using a catch and kill tournament as evidence further prove my point of ignorance but some people prefer to live that way. And you do know that bass are non native species in the vast majority of locations as well, right?
-
Why kill snakeheads?
Only reason to kill them other than to eat, is ignorance, period. If you are going to eat them then by all means harvest some snakehead. If you are going to just kill them and throw them on the bank then release them.

Jerkbait line
I used to use 6 or 8lb diameter braid but last season i went back to your hybrid in 8lb for spinning rods and 10lb for casting and like the set up much better. The braid seemed to get tangled up on the front hook of my trebles during more aggressive retrieves. I also like to use jerk baits in super cold water and i am not a huge fan of braid in those situations.

Senko arrogance...
You want some cheese with that whine? lol I don't care what baits people throw or how good they think they are because it has zero impact on my skill or fish i catch.

Does Anyone Know the Stock Trebles on this Suspending Jerkbait?
Rapala lists all their hook sizes on their site. https://www.rapala.com/rapala/lures/shadow-rap-series/shadow-rap/Shadow+Rap.html?cgid=rapala-lures-shadow#start=1&cgid=rapala-lures-shadow I usually go up to the 1x myself and just ordered some to replace a bunch of hooks on my rapala baits.

Famous fisherman who inspired you
I grew up watching the fishing' hole with Jerry McKinnis and he always looked like he was having fun out there no matter the conditions or the species he was going after. After that it would be Bob Clouser. My dad took me on a guided trip with him back when i was probably 8 and it got me hooked on smallies and his knowledge of the river and how to catch the fish was amazing to me even as a kid. I was then lucky enough to meet him later on in life when i was working/guiding at a local fly shop and he was still just as nice as i remembered before. These two are after my dad who isn't he best fisherman but I would fish with him any time anywhere,

Creek Fishing
i love fishing those types of creeks. Some have been killer and hold bass, others hold mostly sunnies but all of them are fun to fish, My best success has always been with the fly rod instead of conventional gear.
