  1. I don't have a ton of experience with them but I get most of my topwater strikes shortly before or after sunrise/sunset, especially in the warmer months. I usually fish them around lily pads or shoreline grass/weeds. Basically anywhere frogs would be around the times that they would be there. If your seeing fish breaking the surface, its a good sign for topwater.
  2. Now that's the way you start a season! WTG!
  3. Nice pick! I've been catching them a lot as well. Hard fighting fish. Especially if you hook into a big one.
  4. Nice smallies! Saw a couple baby beavers myself yesterday. It was pretty cool.
  5. Good looking fish!
  6. Awesome fish and trip! I like the last picture. Your looking at the lure like "little bucktail, ya done good".
  7. Nice fish...congrats!

  10. Great show! Seen all the episodes that they have on Netflix and I've been watching the new season. I was kind of hoping to see some sort of mutant fish monster on this last episode cuz of all the radioactivity but the giant Wells Catfish was pretty cool. I'm pretty sure he did another episode on the Wells though and the one he caught on that one was quite a bit bigger. I've also watched a couple of the behind the scenes type episodes and that guy goes through some pretty sketchy stuff to catch these fish. There was one where he was in this little village somewhere in Africa or something and the chiefs brother went missing. The people there were really superstitious and because the brother went missing right around when Jeremy Wade arrived, they were going to get together and stone him to death if the brother wasn't found. Then there was another one where they were gathering crabs for bait on a little rock island in the middle of a river and the sound guy got struck by lightning. Those guys are really committed to making a quality show.
  11. Awesome day...congrats!

  16. My first time bass fishing was at the end of last summer. I had just moved and my little brother came down to visit. I had expressed an interest in getting into bass fishing since I now lived within a couple minutes of a few nice ponds/lakes and he gave me some of his gear that he no longer used. We went out that morning for like 4 hours and got skunked. Headed back to the house and he ended up going home. But I just wouldn't take no for an answer. I went back out myself that afternoon and caught 3 in about 45 minutes just before sunset on a blueish purple t-rigged ribbontail worm. The smallest was 12 inches and the biggest was around 18 and really fat. I kept em, fried em up, and they were the best fish I'd ever eaten. I practice catch and release now about 95% of the time but every once in a while Ill keep some of the smaller ones for the frying pan. Looking forward to perfecting my bass fishing skills this year and many years to come!
