  1. Of course I took a pic. PM an e-mail address and I'll get it to you. Brian.
  2. I caught one a week ago in Port St. Lucie Fl. that was 90% pure coal black, even the fins. The only light color was a small belly stripe. Brian.

Full replacement cost, the depriciated value on sporting gear wouldn't be worth the extra cost of the insurance. Brian.

I have a rider on my Home Owners to cover my fishing equipment and BR Guns and gear. If something drastic would happen in you're home, you'll wish you had it. Keep an inventory of ALL you're gear, take pics, take video's, keep all receipts etc., list everything. I learned a hard lesson. Brian.
  5. Looks fantastic. Brian.
  6. What's wrong with another PQ at $80 on sale. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. Brian.
  7. Used a Lew's Team HM85 6'10" MH/Fast for a good bit last summer. Outstanding rod, fished side by side with a Loomis Edge 705-1 Mag Bass, the Lew's didn't give up much at half the cost. Brian.
  8. Couldn't agree more. I still fish a 6'8" MH/Fast IM10 Cumara spinning rod as my main bank fishing rod. I throw from 4" weightless Cuttail worms to 3/4oz. SOB Spinnerbaits and it handles them all with grace. Brian.
  9. He'll catch fish for sure now. That was really helpfull. Brian.
  10. I give them to a few kids I take out and they catch fish. The short stocky one casts much better than the long thin one. I have a case beer box completely full of them. When they need replacements, I give them a few. They look fantastic swimming. Brian.
  11. I use Stren Sonic Braid. It's fairly quiet, stands up to abrasion more than most, and retains it's color fairly well. We've been useing it for the last 5 or so years without a complaint. Brian.
  12. Amen. Got a new Custom Rod and went out to the local lake to give her a whirl. On the 10th. or so cast, I launched my LC Spinnerbait into the next County. I retied and 10 or so casts later, I launched another LC Spinnerbait into the next County. I finally decided to see what was going on, I'm sometimes dense, and the transition guide of my new Spiral Wrapped rod had an edge like a razorblade. Sent it back and had the guide changed, problem solved. Brian.
  13. That was July 17, 1988, 11-14 on a black jointed Jitterbug. I think the statute of limitations makes that null and void. Brian.
  14. I don't catch fish big enough that it would matter. Brian.
  15. I called Power Pole and they told me it would be fine with my Pro 17 w/a 60/40 Merc. Jet. If you go with 2, they recommended a front/back setup, due to the flex of the poles. Brian.

Good advice to see your Doc.. Tons of new treatments available. I'm going to get Rooster Comb injections in my knee to start the fishing season. It's supposed to last several months. Brian.
  17. There isn't a kid with interest, that I know, who hasn't been on my boat. I got 2 trips planned to take 2 friends grandsons on, as soon as the school year ends. Brian.
  18. As soon as I can safely launch the boat. Brian.
  19. A Mudhole Kit may be a good start. Brian.
  20. I've used the Extra Clear McCoy Copoly for the last 2 years. On my Largemouth rigs I use 12lb. on move baits, 15lb. on bottom contact baits, and 25lb. on the Big Swimbait Rods. It's some fantastic stuff. Brian.
  21. McCoy offers a 6" Ribbed Lizard. Brian.
  22. Lee recently built me a Rod after winning the bid on the Tackle the Storm rod build. I've known for sometime all the aspects I would love to have in a Spinnerbait rod so I conveyed those to Lee and he hit a GRAND SLAM with it. He used a SK2 Split handle, EVA split grip, no foregrip, MRX HM 6'9" Spinnerbait blank, Alconite stripper guides for the first 2, Alconite Belly Guides for runners, a Fuji SIC Tip top, in a spiral configuration all Micro's. We fished this rod for a week in Fl. and caught an extensive variety of fish on it. Bass to 7-4, Gar, Snakehead, Bowfish, Crappie, Talapia, Panfish, and a red tailed fish I still have no clue what it is. The Rod was fished with a slew of different reels and line setups. New Curado1, Core, PX68, Lew's with 10lb. Flouro to 50lb. Braid. The rod balanced great with most reels and spectacular with others. It casts great, handled fish extremely well, is unbelievably light, and looks stellar, and the sensitivity is well above avg. I would have had to pay much more to approach the quality of the build. We fished jerks/Rips, Senko's, Ribbontails, jigs, spinnerbaits and Chatterbaits to 1/2oz, Devilhorses, Torpedo's, Spooks, Frogs, Traps, Squarebills all with great proficiency a great all around rod also. Lee's guide layout is spot on. I was quite smitten. Alas, some things aren't meant to be. My bud who I have fished with since childhood asked to use it for a day of bank fishing around Port St. Lucie. He placed his Core 100 spooled w/30lb. Braid on it and went to work. He seemed to be smiling and enjoying himself a bit more than usual. When we packed in at dark I noticed he was putting one of his gloves on it and placing it in his rod tube. I called it to his attention and was informed that the rod was now his and he would buy me what I wanted to replace it. His reasoning was, when you find your perfect rod you don't relinquish it. He said I can use it whenever he's not, but he added that he would always be using it. So I guess I'm going to have to talk to Lee again. Sincerely, Brian.
  23. I fished a new rod all day today(3/2/15) changing back and forth between a Curado 1 and a Core 100. Both reals are brand new and do not belong to me. My impression is, the Core is a casting machine but felt disconnected and not as solid as the Curado. The Curado wasn't a slouch in the casting department either and felt more solid and connected. I was using 12lb. CX on both and throwing 5/16-1/2oz. spinnerbaits. Just my opinion. Brian.
