  1. Why? I remember as a young angler I was determined to catch a bass on a lipless crankbait .I fished it all day without a bite then ran into a local angler who was in the same club as me and who had a reputation as a good angler with lipless baits on this lake . I told him that I have been fishing one all day without a hit and he asked "Why " Was I there to catch fish or to just cast a certain lure ?
  2. Now I dont know .
  3. Get some little beetle spins and just catch whatever . If it has bass , you should at least get a little one .
  4. She just wanted to interact with the guys , her way of flirting . At least thats what I would be thinking .
  5. Get a picture of the whole lure . Resembles a natural Rebel crankbait to me . Yeah pretty sure thats a Rebel . Thats the exact fin pattern that is on mine .
  6. You might be right . When I was a kid I ordered a box of misc. lures from the back of an outdoors magazine . They were all knock-offs and most of them didnt work .
  7. Thats been a good color for me too . I lost mine in a brush pile a few years back but have since acquired another one .
  8. The bottom doesnt look like the Dalton Specials I use . It has a tail spin sure , but it also has three hooks and the front isnt shaped the same .
  9. I never had a good ratio with any of them .
  10. I have a Rippllin Red Fin . Ever hear of that one ? A close friend caught a bunch of bis bass with them , so I bought one and never used it . Edited : I see they still make them .
  11. I had all of those . I liked the Razorback Pigs too .
  12. Thats a top water ? I'd like to play with it .
  13. Hands down my favorite
  14. You know, me too . I catch lots of fifteen inch keepers in deep water but the big ones usually come shallow . Every once in awhile though , I'll hook up with one .
  15. Mike Shannon actually said this. They are called Shannonisms and this one is my favorite
  16. The crankbait that I have had the best luck with for both numbers and size is the Rogers Big Jim . I had two , lost one in a tree , still use the other . The small size without rattles . This lure doesnt have a lot of action to it but it does hunt . One day I was putting the hurts on a school of bass and they were taking it so deep that I changed to an RC crankbait . The bass didnt take it deep , mostly just had the rear hook in its mouth , so I spent less time doing surgery in fishes throats and more time catching them .
  17. I eat lightly . Make sure I have something for breakfast and then usually take some turkey sticks and snicker bars for blood sugar . Those turkey sticks are available at Aldis and wal-Mart . They are excellent .Better than beef . .... a Mountain Dew , bottle of water and a six pack of Natty's .
  18. If I'm fishing for five bites like in a tourney situation I might stay on a spot for hours , have done so before . If I'm fishing for fun I'll leave after the fishing has slowed down considerably . It also depends on the size of bass and where it was caught . I catch a lunker on structure I'm staying for a long time . I catch a lunker in cover I'll try to get a pattern going .Structure like in points might harbor a school . Cover like laydowns usually dont give up more than a fish or two . Then there are the grass flats . Sometimes I keep going back and forth over and over . In other words "whatever floats my boat " .that day .
  19. I do it with a freshly wound spool and walk it all off in the grass ..
  20. Texas rig , spinnerbait , buzzbait and crankbait . I'm working on Toads .
  21. What is that ? Two blades on one swivel ?
  22. I was using it for lures less than 1/4 ounce . I just could not get hooksets with it .
  23. I have a 6'6"med light Shimano Compere casting rod . I lost bass after bass with it . Quit using the thing. Now its trade fodder .
  24. Maybe you already know this but its worth mentioning . Spinnerbaits are one of the most snagless lures made , one of the top lures to use in woody cover . Get it right in there .
