  1. I bet that turtle scatted just fine .
  2. The force is strong with this one .
  3. I dont know where the bass should be . I just strive to have something figured out before the day is over .
  4. Around here six foot visibility is clear . Other than buzz baits these are my top " clear " water lures . That vintage Rebel is the size of a Spook .
  5. After I was finished , I thought about taking Martin but every time I changed my original picks , it has come back to bite me .
  6. Clear water fishing isnt one of my strengths . I have a friend in southern Missouri who claims to do well with a clear Boy Howdy in gin clear water .
  7. Lake Cumberland team is selected . I have 21 dollars remaining and didnt even pick Scott Martin .
  8. in the early 90's a friend of mine bought a tournament fishing game for PC's of our home lake . He would add the current conditions , fish the tourney , then find out where and how the tournament was won . Then go out and apply it to the lake . It was a huge failure .
  9. You just have to put time on the water . Before we ever get to a body of water we already know the season and weather patterns . When we arrive , we get a general impression of the water without putting much thought into it . Then simply , try to make good decisions . I "usually" fish in only 4 different ways and might do them all on the same day . Junk fishing Pattern fishing Structure fishing Contour fishing , where I am targeting a depth and following that contour .
  10. Same here . Those long handles get caught up in my button up shirt .
  11. Man those Lanier spotted bass are fat .
  12. My home lake is full of standing timber . I seek out trees that line a channel, or a road , or farm field or point ... The simple three part Texas rig lure , hook and sinker is my top choice . Spinnerbaits , squarebills and top waters esp. a buzzbait all have their place . The major difference between my area and the picture you posted is water clarity . Mine is dingier , thus I tend to fish lures with some chartreuse on them a lot.
  13. After I tear the head of one up I bite that part down and then it becomes a finesse worm .
  14. A six inch Jelly worm with a two ounce weight .
  15. I have a partial pack of the big black ones and a partial pack of small brown ones . I used the little ones for river smallmouths the big ones for for reservoir largemouths .
  16. I missed this and posted about it in the tournament section . A fishing hero .As a fellow Missourian he is my Mickey Mantle .
  17. Is a lure created by Dion Hibdon and used by Guido to win a Bassmaster tournament at Lake of the Ozarks . It was formed from a real crawdad using Plaster of Paris and pouring in plastic . I still use the ones that were mass produced but have a limited supply , I dont believe they are being produced anymore . What I lked the best about them is they were completely smooth . If I was in question if I just had a bite all I had to do was look at the bait . If a bass bit , it always left teeth marks that were very easy to see on the "Bug".
  18. Guido is one of my heroes . He is my Mickey Mantle . Being a fellow Missourian I was always pulling for him . Anybody who can win a BASS tournament using a lure crafted by a boy for a school project is a very gifted angler . Condolences to his family and friend . This news had already been posted in the General forum , I missed it .
  19. I get the shot every year .
  20. Any of the ones you mentioned are excellent choices . A lot of times I just rig up whatever soft plastic I pull out of the bag first .
  21. scaleface replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle

  23. Thats the way it always happens .
