  1. The ones I make work as well as anything I've used . To get them to squeal loudly , take your needle nose pliers and crimp the rivet so it doesnt spin . Then squeeze the lip or the rivet with the pliers hard . Go all the way around then do the same thing to the blade the part that rubs against the rivet . This creates tiny ridges that will increase the sound .
  2. Setting the hook on fishing line .
  3. I t will probably get worse . I use a weightless worm .
  4. Original Lunker Lure or the ones I make . As long as they squeal .
  5. I'm trying to figure out how big a 7.0 hook is .
  6. You are catching two and three pound bass regularly , then just keep at it .
  7. Strike King Rocket Shads shine in current . Wrap a bit of wire around the double hook to keep it from coming off during the fight . Thats happened to me a couple of times .

  17. Haha . Youre wanting lures to fish in heavy vegetation then . Every lure catches fish .With Heavy vegetation , theres a lot of choices . Weightless worms , top waters , Johnson Silver Minnow . Yum Dingers are easy to cast weightless .Depending onthe type of grass lipless crankbaits are popular . Spinnerbaits retrieved over the top of the weeds...
  18. Where are you fishing and what do you want the lures to do ? Filling a tackle box is like filling a tool box . You need the correct tools for the job .
  19. I used the Fish grips for the first time . They are big and clumsy but work well .I did notice tissue damage when I used the locking clamp , but most of the time I didnt have to lock down . On small bass my Leatherman is usually easier and faster .
  20. I understand not wanting to retie often but your running a risk . Theres an excellent chance that a big bass will snap your line because it is damaged , all because you dont like tying knots . The palomar is super easy to tie .
  21. I have a hard time knocking on a door to ask permission . Fortunately for me there is a lot of public fishing lakes around . When I was a teenager about 17 I wanted to fish this quarry . People have built a house on it . I knocked on the door and a lady answered . When I asked about fishing she wanted to know what part of town I was from . I told her and then she turned me down . I was from the poor part . I have not knocked on a door since .
  22. I just guessed . Look at the topography of the land and imagine it under water . I only fished a couple of years without sonar .
