I bet your team out performed mine . I came in dead last and wasnt even close to the next guy .This was my first time in fantasy fishing . I'm changing strategy . I selected 5 southern boys for Okeechobee .

I usually dont throw it in muddy water . Stained , most likely a Lizard or worm .

The lures have to be some color .I mostly choose baitfish and chartreuse colors because of their track record in stained water.

Theres a lot of lures and techniques that I havent used . I just dont have time to use everything . Unlike a lot of others , I wont hesitate to throw a carolina rig .

When I was fishing club tourneys I went out of my way to let the non boater catch fish . We usually took turns getting first cast at cover . Better make that first cast count because it was open game if it was missed . LOL. I didnt care who won , I just wanted it to come from my boat .

They all catch fish . Try to imagine every condition you might face and pick accordingly .For instance , I dont use deep diving crankbaits when fishing from bank . Instead I will use sinking lures and fish uphill . Nothing comes through snags as cleanly as a Texas rig . Top waters , I could get by with just a frog , buzzbait , floating minnow and popper . Think of your lures as tools and try to select the best tool for the job . Take into consideration snags . A lot of times I go cheap and still catch bass . The lowly Beetle Spin , when allowed to sink to the bottom has caught a lot of deeper bass for me from the banks .

Too bad the Helicopter lure is not listed .

The most frustrating fishing I ever had was during the baker's dozen year cicada hatch . As soon as one hit the water it would buzz causing all those mini ripples and a bass or bluegill would be all over it. i couldnt figure out how to catch one . I'm prepared next time . I have one of those wind up lures . That should do the trick . and why is 13 spelled out edited ?

Does anyone use mono with a braid leader ?

What if the reason youre not catching fish is because the water turned to mud ? Or the surface temp is 96 degrees ? Or the water is extremely clear ? Or weeds are too thick ? Or half the Bass master elite field is fishing your spot ? ....

There lots of light wire worm hooks . I like VMC round bend worm hooks number 8313 for skinny worms .

The no pee drops on the boat rule is a hard one for me . I dont have that great of pressure , to much friction loss .

These baits that work real well when the fishing is tough . They work even better when the fishing is good .

Heck yes . co-angler wants to try something different , cast away . They have taken me to school many times .

It wouldnt bother me any . Go for it .

The Red Eye Shad fits my style of fishing the best. If there are other lipless baits that shimmy on the fall , someone let me know .

You dont have to net some minnows .Shad , bluegill , crawfish and other patterns will work everywhere . Smallmouth bass pattern has worked well for me in places where there are none .

Watermelon chartreuse has been good for me .

Jelly Wigglers looked like the Phenoms . I have hundreds of original Jelly Worms .

When I get my basement back in order " flooded " I'm going to do thsi . A yellow perch patterned RES would work great around here . These are awesome .
