  1. I would like to have one of those things . I use to have a light/temperature meter that was a eye opener . Light and temp always plummeted together and if there was a thermocline , thats where the big change would be .
  2. If its good structure that is not getting pounded bass will take permanent residence there . Its hard to find those spots these days .
  3. My legendary team disappointed . Only Paul Elias made the cut .
  4. I like to fish them deep . My largest bass this past year was with a silent chrome /blue back 20 foot down . I was tearing up a school of dinks then backed off to the dropoff, a couple of feet deeper . .
  5. I wont buy a lure because a pro says its really good and everybody need a couple . I will buy one if it fills a niche . I just bought six crankbaits David Fritz was hawking because supposedly they dive a couple of feet deeper than comparable sized baits .
  6. Some of the pros say it does . I could see where pressured bass become alerted of depth finder noise . Others say no way , never, sonar absolutely, 100 percent does not scare bass, ever .
  7. When Guido Hibdon wins a tourney on a home made plastic crawfish , I pay attention . Or Denny Brauer with a generic tube . Most of the time I dont pay that much attention though . If the lure supposedly has a quality that I think will help me catch fish I'll give it a try . Like the Red Eye Shad having action on the fall.
  8. Usually if I cant buy a bite , I'm fishing in the wrong places .
  9. Being I dont follow the tour trail that closely , I have never heard of most of these anglers . My team consisted of fishermen I knew of when I did follow it . They didnt fare to well . I'm next to last . Biffle , Clunn, Elias , Horton and Omori are my team .
  10. I see no need of rigging a plastic bait before its ready to be used . I usually put it on at lakeside or before the first cast . Maybe I'm not understanding the question .
  11. I had to change lures one day because my bluegill colored crankbait blended into the fall foliage so well , it was invisible . I kept casting into the overhangs . Another day I had to change that vary same crankbait and color because I was catching fish on almost every cast and they were taking it deep . For each fish i caught, minutes were wasted trying to get the lure out .I switched to a different color and almost all the fish were caught on the rear treble . I was catching fewer fish on the lure they were hitting best .
  12. I let the other guy take control and then try to outfish him from the back .
  13. My team is sponsored by Geritol .
  14. 1 worms 2 buzzbait 3 spinnerbait 4 red Eye Shad 5 - 10 6 different crankbaits that will cover 1 to 20 foot deep

I'll trade you guys a brand spankin new in box lure for those old beat up ones .
  16. Burke use to make that one in the flex plug series . They were constructed out of a soft foam . I have a couple of flex plugs but not that one .
  17. Through a humans eye . Sorry , couldnt help myself .
  18. Often finesse is the problem , not the solution .One trip has made a lasting impression on me . I could not buy a strike . Out of frustration I burned a spinnerbait back and a bass jumped all over it . That was how the rest of the day went . Another example . I won a club tournament with two bass that weighed 13 lbs . I caught that duo by burning a Bomber Long A minnow next to shallow stumps late in the day . Up until that point bass completely ignored all precision pitches and cast 's . "If I'm not catching fish I may as well not be catching big fish" is one of my strategies too .

They have become one of my top producing lures last year . I use shad colors and chrome . I'll get some chartreuse this season . I use the 1/2 ounce and the smaller one . I dont have a 3/4 ounce yet but will have a few before summer . My most productive retrieve is lift and drop like a worm, out on the points and flats .
  20. Ive seen them jump just by paddling a canoe . My niece got hit in the head by one . Unless some scientist can come up with a designer virus that only affects one species , I dont think theres much that can be done to stop them .
  21. For years I got away with a 6.5" med/hvy rod for pitching . I use a 7 footer most of the time now .
  22. I've often heard post spawn is tough fishing . I think its the most predictable time of the year .
  23. I'm in . I picked a bunch of veterans .
  24. Ive seen purple crawfish .
