  1. Use your imagination . You can make soft plastics do pretty much whatever you want them to do .
  2. Fat Rap . They are still making four colors. Id get one of each. If I had to choose one it would be perch.
  3. You might try to sink a brush pile when nobody is looking . Get it way out there so they dont accidentally find it but you are still able to cast to it . .
  4. He just didnt qualify this year .
  5. I had a Bomber Model A in Baby bass that had "it" . Whatever "It" is . It's also long gone .
  6. Ive retired lots of Lunker Lures because the blade wore down to nothing . I also had a couple of Blakemore C.C. spinnerbaits that I wore the blade out. LOL
  7. The fellows who got skunked still beat KVD .
  8. Spinnerbaits work year round. The lakes I fish spinnerbaits are so popular that bass quickly become accustomed to them . The lake I fish most I have already seen a big decline in spinnerbait bites .
  9. Neither .
  10. I rarely see fish on their beds .This time of year , though ,I run the gamut with shallow baits . Hopefully one of them works .
  11. I immediately thought buzzbait .
  12. There are small public lakes all over Missouri , with slot limits and lots of bass . I figured most eastern states were like that. LOL I guess not . From what I read on this forum Missouri must be bass heaven .
  13. I like lizards a lot and dont have a favorite brand. Zooms are good. Mister Twister , Gene Larew , BPS have all done well for me. The six inch lizard may be the best lure I ever used for 15 to 20 inch bass .
  14. Its hard to hide baits from bass . I will often try to match the water color so the fish cant see it as well. Green is one of my favorite colors in green water .
  15. Sounds like fly rod time with small poppers. If you've never used one dont get intimidated, just pull some line off and get it out there.
  16. If the popper dont work a floating minnow might .
  17. I've never used a senko because they are too costly , but caught all kinds of bass on those stiff Luck Strike Jogger worms . I was fishing them "wrong" . I used a T rig and slayed them , didnt know I was suppose to use them weightless and wacky style. Sometimes it pays to be ignorant .
  18. I still use those old lures and search for them at flea markets and such. Jelly worms on 2/0 hooks still get used a lot. Rebel Deep Wee R's , Wiggle Warts , Bomber Model A's , Norman N series , Rapala Fat Raps and especially the Rogers Big Jim are still the cranks I throw the most . The Bomber Long A is perhaps the best big bass lure I've ever used. Lunker Lure buzzbaits are still catching lots of fish . If you ever see any Bass Buster Scorpions or Tarantulas buy them . The more they get used the better they are .
  19. Hunnewell lake in Northeast missouri. Its a 200 acre lake the conservation department runs. They dont allow personal boats { trying to keep the zebra mussels out } but supply 14 foot jons free of charge. It has a slot limit of 12 to 15 inch fish. I bring my own trolling motor and depth finder .
  20. Ive retired a couple that started leaking. I also have some bagleys that the paint chipped away and I quit using them .
  21. Rogers Big Jim .
  22. I went out friday in same conditions and caught twenty to thirty just beating the banks . I was using medium rattleless cranks with tight actions. A Rogers Big Jim and Rapala Fat Rap . Caught a couple on a weedless beetle spin type lure that I rigged and a couple on texas rigged jelly worm . Only keeper came on a Fat Rap that was around four lbs . I'm a big user of tighter wiggling cranks . The lake I was fishing is an easy one to fish and I always catch some . Thirty fish is a bad day .
  23. I try to wait until I feel the fish , often my reflexes are just to quick. I missed a big bite two days ago because I jerked when the fish hit. It is hard to control even after decades of fishing them. Buzzbaits are my favorite lures . I once had a bass jump over a log to get to it on the other side and I caught that fish . The most spectacular strike I've ever had .
  24. LMAO , At lest he didnt try to sell them too you .
