  1. No , its a cheap blade that gets used a lot .
  2. I've tried it a couple of times but didnt get it balanced right and was not happy with the results . I will add a three to four inch swimbait to a 3/8th oz buzzbait .
  3. A tarnished gold and copper blade with a barred skirt resembles sun-fish . I've caught hundreds of bass on these blades . I just keep adding the old blades to new baits . This is my secret never before revealed bait . LOL , seriously , it catches , especially around chara algae where bluegill beds are .
  4. A little off subject here but I get a kick out of the "A Day on the Lake" articles in Bassmaster . The tourney pro , who knows nothing about the lake , travels up-lake and fishes a obscure rock pile 15 foot deep . LOL
  5. The Cutlery World sticks are so easy a caveman could do it . A few light touch-up strokes on the fine rod at the steeper angle remove's the burr and strengthens the edge .
  6. Thats the one knife I wish I had kept but the buyer made me a good offer .
  7. I had many USA made carbon steel Old Timers in my life . I sold them all last year . Great knives . My first Pocket knife was an Old Timer that I received for Christmas . The new stainless steel models from China just dont have the same charm .
  8. I use ceramic sticks to get knives hair popping sharp . I have two sets of sticks of different grits with two sets of holes at different angles .If they are pretty dull I will attach a diamond stone to the ceramic stick via rubber bands to remove steel quickly and be at the same angle as the sticks . It gets them sharp fast . I always add a micro-bevel to finish it off .
  9. Ive been there twice . Tubes were working good both times .
  10. I have nothing in common with my next door neighbors . A guy a block away is on the same bowling team .
  11. Dont know exactly , its a 2015 Ram crew cab , 5 to 6 foot .
  12. Most of my rods are used for a variety of baits but there are three I guess would identify as single duty. 7' hevy is a worm and jig rod. Although it will see action on large crankbaits . 7' mh with braid is a frog rod . 7"ml spinning is a finesse rod . I dont have any rods over 7 foot because they fit diagonally in my short bed pickup .
  13. The Original Lunker Lure
  14. I usually visit one of the Ozark lakes every year . 250 to 300 miles .
  15. yep , big ones too .
  16. Yesterday was the first time in two years I failed to catch a limit of 15 inchers at a local lake . I didnt even catch one keeper . Caught 18 fish under 15 inches .For the past month I have been noticing huge sores on the bass and several dead ones floating . Saw a dead 5 to 6 lber yesterday . I contacted the lake biologist and he stated there was some kind of bacterial infection going around .
  17. Day in and day out I think its the single most important aspect of bass fishing . If the lure is not placed where the bass is hanging the bass doesnt get caught .
  18. It depends on the rod I'm using . If I'm using my usual 7 foot mh then I'm going with a 1/2 ounce every time .
  19. First bass ever caught on a scrounger head '
  20. Not my largest but perhaps my prettiest .
  21. Living rubber . I did not duplicate the skirts , but made them short .
  22. These are the best manufactured spinnerbaits I ever used in fast current .I dont care much for the free-swinging double hook , so I made some with the same dimensions and a fixed single hook .
