  1. Those sliding lure retrievers will not work for you .
  2. I can almost guarantee that old Rick is not throwing a 1/4 oz spinnerbait . Hes dialed in , effortlessly placing that lure where he wants . Rod , line and lure are perfectly matched for efficiency .
  3. 45 years of bass fishing and I never hooked myself on anyone , then did it three years in a row .
  4. My favorite Deep Purple album is Fireball. I had it on an 8 track . When we were driving around , partying , Fireball was always a good time when I shoved it in . Boys and Girls liked it .

  9. I do it all the time ,especially when I see the hit . Stupid reflexes .
  10. I use xl on spinning , Big Game on casting. On my wormin rod I use xl clear blue floro because of its high visibility . 17 lb test, only .015 inches dia. and very difficult to break .

I stuff a 22 beside the drivers seat haphazardly covered with a rag . My wife doesnt even know its there . I keep another rag on the passengers seat . People just think I'm sloppy .
  12. I can land a 1/2 oz quietly where so desired . So I throw it almost 100 % of the time .
  13. I carry two one hundred dollar bills folded and hid . My secret stash .
  14. Bass anglers throw itty bitty spinnerbaits around here every fall . Some day I might get in on that action .
  15. I enjoyed tournament fishing until I won some actual money . After that it wasnt the same . It became serious . So I quit and fished for the pure enjoyment of it .
  16. Ive been known to take off in the winter snow with a cigar, ferro rod fire starter and bottle of whiskey . Find a comfy area, make a fire and just spend the day there by myself.
  17. I had several albums in the 70s . Shades of Deep purple ,Machine Head , In Rock , Fireball and Burn . Saw them a few years back in St Louis with Edgar winter and Alice Cooper . I consider Ian Gillan the greatest rock vocalist ever .
  18. Around 20 years of age I bought a 15 foot Skeeter tri-hull with a 70hp Johnson .
  19. Yeah, this was 45 years ago and some of the people in this pic are no longer with us .
  20. I started club tournaments at 18 . There wasnt a major reservoir any where close so fished small Mo. Cons. Dept lakes with equipped jonboats . I won three of those . When a major reservoir was completed I fished buddy tournaments for a few years . Had several top 5's and a cousin and I won the largest event ever held on the lake . Nearly 500 boats in it from all over the region . Tom Mann was the Emcee . Heres a photo from an early tournament .Im standing second from the left wearing a Manns hat .
  21. I cant tell you what my form is . On a back hand cast its like swinging a baseball bat . For me , having the "precise" weight of lure to match the rod is most important . An overhand cast there is a lot more variation in weight . A side-arm cast , for me any how , the precise weight is critical . Just a difference of 1/8th oz throws my accuracy off .
  22. I stuff the pockets of my gear bag with soft plastics . They dont hold a lot so when fishing from a small craft I just take the basics '. When I trailer my boat I have a couple of small gear bags to haul more than I need but I have a big boat , so no problem.
  23. I have not experienced that fishing , then driving but I get it . My first full-time job after graduating was on an assembly line . When they shut the belt down , the world appeared to rotate the opposite direction .
  24. If the furnace is on , whiskey . AC running tequila . Beer anytime . After the last years annual winter snow hike , no more whiskey will be brought along .
  25. I lost a big one this spring . I set the hook on her and then she set it back , snapping my line .
