  1. I'm ok with fishing Melvern from the yak, done it many times. Wind will be the determining factor for me. Smaller lakes are usually more sheltered from the wind. Never seen any of the other lakes on the list. Friend of mine that fishes from a kayak has fished Critzer quite a few times though. He loves that little lake.
  2. Lol not going to vote cause there are other lakes I want to fish. Like Critzer, Bourbon, Mound. Lol Ill let fate decide. Hahahaa
  3. My whole deal is that any place other than Melvern on that list, I'll have to stay the night. Or with In-Laws.
  4. Im in for April date. Ill be in KC May 4-5 for bowling tourney. Prefer Melvern due to closer to me. But open for whatever. If yall pick heavy timber lake, Ill bring my second yak for someone to use to get back in where your power boats wont.
  5. I saw that. I about **** my pants. had to be a misprint, the 2 is directly under the 5, maybe it's suppose to be 2.88lb White.
  6. My dog just barks at the water, likes to get in while he can touch, after that he freaks a bit. Shelties are made for the rolling farmland, not water. Hahaha
  7. I dont put all my stock into these reports for the larger lakes. But for ElDorado to have a decent rating for smallies.... Im intrigued. Gonna have to try my luck a few times.
  8. I'd rather fish in the rain, then in blue bird skies.
  9. We should get together and fish Butler SFL. Im sure you do better there than me. Maybe I can pick up a few things. LOL
  10. Im in Derby, where you at?
  11. Thats the kind of places I dig. I dragged my gear 1/2 a mile to a place. Lug it up and over a fence. Some of those Atlas places are gold. Others I've found stink.
  12. Ive driven to Nebo, Melvern many times, Garnett, even Wilson. It would just need to be planned. Spur of the moment trips need to be less than 1.5 hr trip commute. My kayaks are super stable. Commander120, I can stand and fish comfortably. Other is a Pescador 12.0, which is a Tarpon120 clone. Not a standing yak, but still super stable.
  13. Oh. I dont see myself selling soon. Lol. As much as I love the bigger boats. Taxes arent kind for them. ;-)
  14. If any of you boys wanna fancy kayak fishing. Give me a holler. I have 2 yaks. Just bring your fishing tackle and a PFD.
  15. Good call. Any of you boys hit Critzer up? My yak fishing friend has fished it quite a few times. Its a bit outta tge way for me, but really wanna get out there.
  16. If the outlet is anything like coffey county, id have to steer clear. Too much current to cope with
  17. I will try to fish La Cygne this year. From the yak of course.
  18. Kdwpt updated Density Sampling. Nebo highested rated lake for >20" fish. I know where Im going this July!!!
  19. Not Soon Enough! Anxious to get back to Melvern.
  20. If you dont find anyone to give it to, look up Heros on the Water. They are a great organization to give to. They take disabled war vets kayak fishing. Nice therapy for wounded soldiers.
  21. I'd love to have another shot at Coffey County, but I don't think my schedule (well, my wifes schedule) will cooperate this Thursday. Keep posting and I'm sure the planets will align one of these times I can ride shotgun with ya. Seems like you boys know how to fish ways I'm not proficient at. I'm use to the thick of thickest, where you need 55lb braid to pull 3lb fish up with 10 lbs of slop attached. Using electronics, fishing structure, and places I can't see with my own 2 eyes are GREEK to me.
  22. I wish more lakes had dollar pads. Those ones big as Semi truck tires are hard to fish. Got it on a buzzbait, July of 2011.
  23. Nebo SFL is a nice little lake. Pulled a 19.75" out of the pads there. I wish I lived a tad closer. It's a ways away for me.
  24. 20.75" Largemouth Koppers Live Target Hollow Belly Frog Black/Brown Toss on the slop, slowly creep the lure back, dead sticking at edge of cover/open pockets Private business pond, got ran off. July
