  1. I recently had the same problem as you in C-4 & C-5 (I also have big time problems in C-6 & C-7 from a childhood injury but thats another story). The needles and shocks were not that bad (well sometimes they were). I dealt with the pain, but what got me worried the most was I had major numbness in two of my fingers and up my arm (the one I cast with). Took about 3 months for the numbness to pretty much go away - without doing anything except for some specialized exercise. 5 months later I still have occasional numbness.
  2. I don't know if 1.2 mil will cover it Muddy. If you thought it was bad last time you visited, you should see it now. Even I can barely find anything myself anymore. Can finally walk without pain in the knee. First warm month we see, I've clean it up. :-?
  3. First, I would apply for stimulus bailout money from the government. With the money, under the auspice of job creation, start to build non-stop high-speed trains linking major sporting cities, and allow the entire endeavor to be run by unions. Then when EVERYONE ELSE'S money runs out (that I have been utilizing), file bankruptcy (that is after buying one of those islands Muddy spoke about with the money I siphoned off and hid in Swiss banks). And then when the grandkids ask me what we used before candles, I would tell them electricity.
  4. My family has some land that Hunters Creek runs through. On the land is a stone gravity bridge (according to legend was built in the mid 1700's by Benjamin Franklin as part of his Fort Allen construction, which was located nearby). As far back as I can remember, I fished off that bridge with a stick, string, hooks and worms in pursuit of chubbys, suckers and trout. I probably fished that setup for 5 years until I got my first real fishing pole. They were some of my fondest childhood memories. I still enjoy fishing off that bridge 50 years later... the best spot in the word to clear the mind.
  5. Last night the wife and I were playing Scrabble, and I used the word DINK. She said it's not a word. I explained to her it is a term for a fish that "doesn't measure up." She said DINKY would be okay, but not DINK. So I had to look it up in my handy Official Scrabble Players Dictionary. It listed DINK as a verb, to adorn. I got the points because it was a word, but she wasn't happy about it (my explanation didnt match the definition Women!). So I checked my Webster dictionary, and again, it didn't match what I thought was a real word. I thought about this thread so is it a made up word (how we use it)?
  6. Cripes, don't be ignernt, or havin yourself a conniption an gettin your gotchies all bunched up now. Hain't ya ever heard coal speak ya bugger ya... now dincha? Fer cryin' out loud, she brung wit her good stuff from da reejin! Ver-shtay-shtoo... ya ham and egger ya.
  7. What is involved in a professional angler's development in a new lure or bait? BASS scaled back their tournament schedule in response to current economic conditions. What are some of the things BASS pros are doing themselves to cope with the hard times? What is your opinion of an anglers ownership of spots during a tournament? What do you see as the future in new development of rods and reels? How much input does the angler have in the design of their boat wrap? If they could bring back one old discoutuned lure, which one would you want reintroduced?

The heck with Stefan... how about those poor people on Gilligan's Island. Although they can build a car out of coconuts and bamboo, they spend years on that deserted island because they just can't seem to build a workable boat. So so sad! It tears my heart out.

Just wait I think Muddy is planning on hosting a show about surviving in New York City (including the 5 boroughs). I think he is torn over the first episode... between FINDING A BATHROOM and SURVIVING THE SUBWAY.

  13. I have an 18' Fish'N'Ski with a 150. You have about a dozen lakes within a 2 hours trip from Bucks County, PA that you can utilize your big motor. No limits on 2 stroke anywhere that I am aware of, but you never know what the NJ politicians will do in the near future. Several guys I know attach a 9.9 kicker motor to their boats, which opens up another dozen or so lakes to their bigger boats (Round Valley and Spruce Run in NJ and Noximixon in PA are my favorite larger restricted HP lakes). Lots of good rivers and streams in eastern PA for fly fishing. The Pohopoco as it leaves Beltzville Lake is my favorite. With the outflow temp kept constant it leads to good year round fly fishing. Really good fly fishing is also found on the Lackawaxen River near Lake Wallenpaupack. The trout are pink, and jump 6 feet out of the water after the hatches it's fun just watching the spectacle. But you gotta be careful because when they release water from the dam, the water level rises pretty fast, and you can get in big trouble if you're not observant. The Delaware River is know for good Brown and Rainbow fly fishing (recommend a fly fishing float trip for the Delaware), and the Lehigh River has gotten pretty good in recent years. Also some good streams in NJ, but I only fish lakes in NJ. When you get to the area, give me a shout. And if you have options where to move to... PA is a heck of a lot cheaper cost of living than NJ. - - - - - - And if you tie your own flies, here is the listing for eastern PA trout fishing. You might want to stock up over the winter months. My fly tying equipment is pretty dusty, as these days I just stick to Blue Winged Olives, Royal Wulff, a Housefly pattern I developed, and Black Stonefly Nymphs. Brown Stone Size 12 When 3/20 - 4/30, Midday Blue Winged Olive Size 18/20 When: 3/25 - 5/15, Midday Little Black Sedge(Caddis) Size 18/20 When: 4/1 - 5/25, Afternoon Blue Quill Size 18/20 When: 4/7 - 5/14, Midday Quill Gordon Size 12/14 When: 4/10 - 6/15, Midday Hendrickson/Red Quill Size 12/14 When: 4/12 - 5/25, Afternoon Sulphur Size 12/14 When: 4/20 - 6/10, Afternoon Shad Fly/ Grannom(Caddis) Size 16 When: 4/28 - 5/25, Afternoon Dark Hendrickson/ Red Quill size 12,14 When: 5/1 - 6/12, Afternoon March Brown Size 10/12 When 5/14 - 6/14, All Day Gray Fox Size 12/14 When 5/24 -6/25, Midday Sulphur Size 16/18 When: 5/27 - 7/14, Afternoon Green Drake Size 6/8 When 6/1 - 6/15, Evening Sulphur Size 12/14 When 6/1 - 8/18, Evening Green Caddis Size 14/16 When 6/1 - 6/25, Afternoon Dun Variant/Lead Wing Coachman Size 10/12 When 6/1 - 7/31, Late Afternoon Light Cahill Size 12/14 When 6/5 - 8/18, Late Afternoon Blue Winged Olive Size 14 When 6/5 - 6/25, Late Morning Blue Winged Olive Size 18/20 When 6/15 - 7/15, Morning Brown Drake Size 8/10 When 6/15 - 6/30, Late Afternoon Cream Variant Size 10 When 6/18 - 8/15, Evening Trico Size 24 When 6/28 - 10/15, Morning Blue Winged Olive Size 24 When 6/28 - 11/20 ,Late Afternoon Yellow Stone Size 12/14 When: 7/1 - 9/1, Afternoon Blue Winged Olive Size 22 When 7/15 - 11/24, Late Afternoon Blue Quill Size 16/18 When: 7/1 - 10/15, Morning & Afternoon White Fly Size 12 When 8/15 - 9/15, Evening
  14. CRUST! (And as far as toppings go gotta have MUSHROOMS. Nothing makes a pizza quite like a solid layer of fungus topping it. And I found out a thin layer of mashed potatoes or cut up perogies are pretty good as toppings when visiting my Irish born family members who insist that potatoes be included in everything)
  15. Plenty of Bass Fishing. Leave the bass boat behind???? Are you nutz? Although a lot of the waters are small, there sure are plenty of them. The bass fishing is actually better in NJ than PA. Not a lot of lakes to run a big motor, but enough to keep a bass fisherman happy. Check out these links, its something to do during the hard water months. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/county.htm http://www.fish.state.pa.us/water/topsero.htm http://www.fish.state.pa.us/lakes.htm http://www.fish.state.pa.us/spbtregs.htm http://www.fish.state.pa.us/pafish/bass_black/00bass_waters_ranked.htm http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/lakemaps.htm http://www.bassnj.com/template.php Also, if you're into tournaments, there are enough trails and clubs to keep you happy. PM me if you want any more info.
  16. Ahhh, Noo Yawk City... A place where you can buy an international phone card, counterfeit state I.D., and a wool Yankees winter hat all for $6 from a man whom you just met but still considers you "my friend". A place to eat a hot dog that has been floating around in dirty luke-warm water like a toy boat in a kid's bath tub. A place where you can here the phrase Please stop urinating on my shoes immediately," and think nothing of it.
  17. What about the lid on the new schmootz I hopes it's also new (like a flip-top rather than the old unscrew and loose ones).

Your going to Penn State correct? You already got all the materials needed to fall asleep quite quickly. Lay in bed and open one of those college textbooks might I suggest The Classical World: An Epic History from Homer to Hadrian. You'll fall asleep within minutes trying to read one of them.
  19. Ahhhhh nothing quite signifies the holiday season like sipping on a cold glass of pancake batter.
  20. Funny that someone with a name that sounds a lot like Gotti is joking about making license plates (just kidding). How about the Illinois Golden Rule... He Who Has The Gold Makes The Rules.

Just keep a lookout for a taxi license plate with the cab medallion number 7N78 (the number is also plastered all over the cash cab, including the light on top of the cab).

The condition you refer to is called SANITY. I like visiting NYC... and driving in Manhattan is a real hoot. You have to turn into a driving animal if you want to get anywhere. (I like it better though when I leave.)
  23. Maybe it was the ghost of Christmas present paying a visit to Jacob Burley.
  24. Tiny Tim's Tiptoe Through The Tulips on 45. That was the Christmas after I sneaked off and went to Woodstock (I was 12).
